    Had my 07 TDV8 for 9 years, had the alternator replaced,oil cooler,but that is about all, I love it,as JC and HM say, it's peak Range Rover!

    I just bought one, (07, TDV8 3.6) 165,000 miles on it. I've put 5000 miles in 1 month. I just did 800 miles in 1 day (Shropshire to Taunton, to North Scottish Highlands). I also have a 2020 Audi SQ7 - i prefer the L322 for these long journeys. For years, I've been 'anti' Range Rover, but i really like it. (I like the ignition key position too!)

    Thanks! I recently bought a 2002 L322, literally everybody told me not to. So I just did it. Already love it. The cooling hose tore in Spain, but well 35 degrees celsius, who would have guessed.
    I think I'll love it as much as you do after 6 months. Thanks for the super positive story!

    Have a 2003 V8 Petrol. M62 BMW engine which is, if serviced, a very robust engine. Service it myself regularly so costs are minimal. Everything works Inc the air suspension. Just did 5000 Mike's around Europe and UK with 5 people and luggage, and didn't miss a beat. Did long stretches and got out feeling fresh. 2 years in and no plans to part with it any time soon. 150,000 miles and will comfortably do another 50k

      I had the same platform. M62m is the motor the m62 has no vanos. Maybe they put that in the uk models better motor less timing chain and guide issues and yeah vanos. I sold mine after doing that work as well as much more. Motor was still strong as all. The transmission was starting to go a common issue with them at high mileage.

    I daily a 2012 westie with the TDV8, it's immense, I've not had any major issues with it, nothing above serviceable issues, brake pads/discs, bushes and CV boots, never had any expectations about it not being good on fuel, but 28-30mpg for a near 3 ton V8 is alright in my opinion, my only bug bear with it is the fact it has no Bluetooth audio out the box, but £30 for an adapter off Amazon, it's all good, it stands out at the land rover shows between the Defenders and Discos, especially with the roof tent on it 😂

    I had my 4.4 bmw motor for 7 years loved it. But with age the issues did pile up. Still one of the best driving SUV,s I've owned. I sold it with transmission issue and steering column issue again. 178,000miles on her. It wasn't worth fixing cost vrs what it's worth.

    As an owner of a similar-aged LR , I am never worried about repairs. Actually just spent a small pile of loot on new belt, tensioners and water pumps on my V8.
    1. Car was paid for years ago, 3 years old for a massive discount off new.
    2. No depreciation to worry about. No interest payments.
    3. Annual repairs/upkeep costsare the same as 1 or 2 months' payments on a new one.
    4. Not precious about throwing surfboards, wetsuits, fishing rods etc in it.
    It's simply worth far more alive than dead for me, and will continue to for a long time to come.

    Hi, liking your vids, I bought a TDV8 4.4 In March, absolutely love it, owned my last Range Rover in 1986-1989 always wanted anther, I know you say "an old man's car" but I am old. going to get it undersealed next week, try and make it last a bit longer, I don't have the problem with the dangling keys as its keyless start so normally keep in my pocket, good luck with yours, all the best , SJ.

    • @Nuecarautomotive
      @Nuecarautomotive  Год назад

      Thanks very much for watching Steven! I love “old man’s cars” I’m not a huge fan of most modern motors.. I was probably born in the wrong era! Jealous of the keyless start.. although there is something quite nice about cranking the ignition with a key..under sealing is on my list for this year too, like you say it’s good to make them last! All the best, Mike :)

    I've had my 4.4 (04) vogue for around 18 months, I only bought it because it was on LPG. The guy had it up for £2k and it had a gearbox issue ( couldn't move the gear selector) I googled it on you tube and there is a lever under the leather shift gaiter. I got it home on a recovery truck and did the you tube hack and you know what it went into every position effortlessly. I ended up paying £1300. The guy had literally treated it so well. I've had to replace the steering angle sensor and the HVAC resistor. I try to do a job as and when I can, mostly I do it myself to save money. Planning a few upgrades.
