DISCO reached No.1 in the UK and Australia. Because she topped the chart in the UK she is now the first female artist to have a No.1 album in 5 consecutive decades (80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s) her album has had 55,000 sales becoming the best album seller of 2020 so far
DISCO has also entered the Irish charts at No4 😁😁🥂🥂

Yes. It would be a crime if they don't release it as a single. Don't they see it's the best ?!! It's got to be released. We need a music video for it !
What makes me love this even more is that they recorded this album all remote locations zooming the write songs. She got an engineering credit as she had to buy equipment and learned how to record her vocals. I love this album I'm going to get a cd copy for better quality.

Monday Blues is a grower, but it’s so damn catchy. After a few listens, you’ll be hooked and singing “Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday...”
Personally I’d give it a strong 8, but the bridge and last chorus are definitely the strongest part of the song. I love the shouty vocals right before the chorus hits, it really gets you pumped.

'Supernova' is the song I've always desired from her. 'The One' from X came close, but this track is exactly where I wanted her to go. It's EPIC, GALACTIC, GENIUS. And I'm glad it came later on in her career. I'm hoping it's a single. There has always been a build-up from her, every album gives us a taste of the future.
I think they're completely different styles. The One's album version is superior to the remix they released. And Supernova is catchy, her upbeat and slow songs are nice.

Girl, DISCO is an incredible album and I enjoy my blue vinyl but let's not get crazy with the praise. Daft Punk literally invented some of the production techniques used on this album.
A collab would kill me tho 💕
The Disco genre predated Daft Punk but obviously influenced them.

A lot of people don't like Monday Blues to begin with but give it a few more listens and I know you watched Infinite Disco, and for me watching the performance on that made me love the song.

MISS A THING is iconic for me I love so much this song and the album
The singles were already saving my lockdown but the album threw it out of the park and saved my whole year. So happy with this album, it's just perfect upbeat disco album. Not a single bad track, just solid great tracks through and through. If there's one song that is an if for me as well, it's Monday Blues, but it has a pretty catchy chorus and break. #scorpios lol

For a similar joyous album that saved 2020 - check out "Fun City" by Bright Light Bright Light - the single "I used to be cool" is like a chill out companion to Magic.

Over 2 weeks later I'm still obsessed with 'Real Groove' chorus, it had me hooked from the first listen. That is my fav from the album, surely a future single, but I'd love 'Celebrate You' released as the next single - such an feel good song perfect for xmas.
Miss A Thing features her best vocal performance on the album. It's like 2000's Fever-Body Language era Kylie all over again.
have finally gotten my copy of this album and as the name suggests it delivers, truly a great album, Kylie rules that disco disco disco. Love it and its on repeat.
I love “Monday Blues”. To me, the guitar sounds playful. I hear a little of “Kiss” by Prince in there, or maybe “Alphabet Street.” I like story the song tells - someone who used to party at the club every weekend until love happened, now love is the party... having experienced those Monday blues myself, this song just feels fun and clever. It’s also super campy. So I love it.

Don’t hate on Monday Blues - it’s the most “different” track on the album, and more upbeat, but that’s OK, variety is the spice, etc. It’s a grower, not a show-er 😉
It's the track that sounds least like anything Kylie's done before and with such a immediately euphoric vibe, standout for me to this day

Love love love this album...So joyful , Happy and fabulous and much needed. The song "Miss A Thing "is absolute perfection , a classic and timeless and the best song on the album. It's what Get together was to Confessions on A Dance floor. Other amazing songs are Magic, Supernova , I Love it, Where does A Dj go.....this album is it . Not to be missed.

Excellent review yet again. Monday Blues sounds like a track within the Body Language album. I love all the tracks and love the Voulez Vous sound. A lot of tracks have that 2000 Disco sound like X-Press 2, Jean-Jacques, Shakedown, Supermen Lovers and Hed Kandi mixes

Monday Blues to me gives that early to mid 90s vibe for some reason.Supernova, on the other hand, reminds me a lot of Light Years. Last Chance has a lot of ABBA influences in it (some fans have pointed out that it was probably her love letter to ABBA because the chorussounds like Voulez Vous), who is one of the inspirations and influences for this album, the other one being Donna Summer.

Monday Blues is sort of a tribute to a couple different other songs. The "monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, Friday "part is a tribute to "Saturday Love" by Cherrelle and Alexander O'Neil. And the rhythm guitar work is a tribute to Nile Rodgers of Chic . So many people have used his style in their songs. There's another song on this album that uses the bassline of "Good Times", but I can't remember which song. I think it's Real Groove. I think the song is pretty catchy

Hey Dereck! You reacted to the single version of Magic. You'll notice that the album version included on the CD you bought is way longer, with longer verses + instrumental parts. I think the album version is superior.

Such a great reaction to the album. It's great to see you enjoy it so much. For me, Miss A Thing and Real Groove are the two tracks that continue to grow on me. Like you, Monday Blues is the weakest - I'd only give it a 4. All the rest are 9 or more 😊 for this part of the album. Fantastic 🤗👏⭐️
