Hey Jeannine! Please let me know if I got it right Laila, lol. In my experience the baby usually has a name and a birth certificate at the time of birth and family members usually know it. The naming ceremony is like a public declaration of the baby's name to the people and community, it is also a time to thank God/dedicating the baby to God as well. I've seen people do naming ceremonies as early as 3 months up to two year old's so I think it is a preference thing. Hope I answered your question. 🙂❤️
