That 4th goal by Dos Santos is seriously underrated. The amount of technique that it takes to do that is crazy.
he could've been so good for Mexico, shame what happened.
And precision. This goal is the best in all of the copa oro history.
If that goal would have been from a Brazilian player or argentian player everyone would be calling him the goat
@@TheBeastNC I agree, I have never seen a goal in gold cup like this, in the clasico, against Howard, how Gio make the full defense desperate, in americas soil, just art.
@@mightyyoshiyt6772every good player we have always gets injured it’s like a curse
This game was played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena California so basically Los Angeles where Mexicans and Mexican Americans are in abundance and the Mexican flag was flying everywhere that day lol.
Party started at 8 am and ended the next day at 8 am
Home away from home man, crazy that it’s been 10 years. Still remember where I was when I was watching this game😌
@@vidalrodriguez2001 good days
I was there and we were already chanting “ ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh PUTO!” In line ready to go into the stadium. We were singing cielito Lindo outside. Many of us walked to the game from the Main Street. Those multi millionaires in those big houses around the stadium were probably frightened
Giovanny scored probably the greatest goal in the Mexican national team’s history. Una verdadera chulada.
Awwww look at him y'all. He's in his element even brought out stats😁 it's like watching my little brother.
Lmao 😅😂 cute comment
Mexico & USA is probably best national sibling rivalry in futbol there is
Let’s be honest though usa clearly sucks. Took them 14 years to beat Mexico
@TheNoNameMF At least we beat Honduras ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@Nonamelol. What’s with this bullshit 14 years stay that every Mexican is talking about? 😂 MEXICO HAS A LOSING RECORD VS THE USA IN THE PAST 14 YEARS 7-5-8 😂😂😂
@@MatthewHackett The usa hasn’t won an actual game against mexico since 14 years ago. Usa is a shit team
@@MatthewHackett you clearly don’t have any idea what you are talking about,
“Pásale comadre!” 🤣🤣 if only you understood what the commentators are saying
Yo se es de lo major😂
El mejor comentarista 🙌🤩
Still remember that last goal from Giovanni when he was in his prime, that game was the real shit back then.
dos Santos peaked too young. He enjoyed partying more than the game.
Era una buena selección en ese entonces
That goal lives rent free in my head till this day 🇲🇽
i remember Tim Howard wanted to sue the broadcasters after this final 🤣 which made that goal 10x better.
He never said that. You’re lying
Tim Howard complained that they had the trophy ceremony in Spanish. He never said anything about suing.
His reaction when he got scored on was enough lol
The fact that Gio didn’t win the Puskas award still baffles me to this day!
4th goal, commentator says “turn off the lights and let’s go home!” Lol
I get chills every time I rewatch these highlights.
Me atrevo a considerar este partido como uno de los mejores en la historia del fútbol
Bro honestly this was the best soccer reaction/commentary I've ever seen. It's right at my level
Mexicans will never forget Gios goal, it was crazy
This game is legendary. I'm so passionate about this rivalry, you should react to Concacaf Cup 2015. I flew out to LA for the game & it's still one of the best nights of my life! Viva Mexico!
Wordddd
I don´remember that game honey
Landon was definitely "the guy" especially after the 2010 world cup. Pulisic is miles ahead in development at only 21 already playing in Europe. It was a crime he missed out on the 2018 world cup
With the abundance in talent in CONCACAF teams with Alphonse Davis and Jonathan David in Canada, Anthony Lozano for Honduras, Enrico Hernandez for El Salvador, and Leon Bailey and soon Kemar Roofe for Jamaica (who are on a mission to lure a bunch of English-born players with Jamaican citizenship as a promise to Leon Bailey to improve their national team) there is still the chance they won't qualify for the World Cup.
@@Rojiblanco08 None of those nations come close to the depth of talent that the US and Mexico have. The only that come close I think are Jamaica and Canada, but only their attack can compare to US and Mexico.
@@jsegoviaAnd the only country with consistent talent generation after generation is Mexico, even the US only talks about this generation as good and maybe Donovan’s but in the rest, the US sucked
The reason you see so many Mexicans in the stands it's because that's really how many Mexicans are living in the US. About 80% of the Mexican national teams games are in the US just for the fact that the Mexicans on that side pay in dollars. Yes Giovanni's goal was incredibly cheeky.
This was in the US. More specifically in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
I would say this was a fitting place looking back.
That Gio dos Santos goal still pisses me off. I hadn't watched these highlights in a long time, Tim Howard was trash on all of the goals. Fair play to Mexico though, even when we went up 2-0 I did not feel comfortable.
Gio’s goal was the defense’s fault. There were like 3 guys on him and none of them stepped up to the ball. They just sat there and watched
I’ll never forget that goal lol 🇲🇽
🇲🇽 🇲🇽
I feel it and now myself a Mexican fan felt that disappointed fair play never a dull moment between us rivals! respect ✊🏽🇲🇽🇺🇸
Honestly when USA scored those 2 goals I was sad and angry at the same time lol
This is THE gold cup final.. I still have my black Chicharito Mexico jersey they have on here.. legendary game.
I remember this game I was like 7 years old or something and my mexican dad broke a beer bottle when mexico scored that incredible goal by Giovanni dos santos
The 2009 confederations cup final was wild too, That tournament was the first time I watched US soccer I'll never forget it.
Great reaction friend... I saw one of your videos were you are reacting to USA MLS stadiums ... It should be a good idea to react now to Mexican Liga MX stadiums , some of there are awesome.
When you said Giovanni was moving like Messi, reminded me back in 2008 there was an article on the Fútbol Total magazine from Mexico and it was talking about how Gio constantly being compared to Messi hurt him at Barcelona. In 2010 Sports Illustrated before the World Cup also did an article on Gio also mentioning the comparison to Messi. Also I recommend doing a reaction video on the Patriots Super Bowl comeback against the falcons.
He was more so compared to ronaldinho
That last one is a goal that US will never forget, brilliant
Me just sitting here waiting for the Gio goal.. that goal is legendary and is one of the best goals I’ve ever seen anywhere..
I still get chills to this day. Glad you could appreciate some beautiful football brother. Love from the bay area, California
the USA-Mexico qualifier at Estadio Azteca in 2017 was also insane
I remember watching this live. I watch it like 6 times a year. Legendary game
I remember my favorite Mexico USA game was the 2009 gold cup final I was hyped that day
It's a debate between Clint Dempsey and Landon Donavon as the 🇺🇸 GOAT.
four years ago, this would be a correct statement. It no longer is as there are at least five young Americans better than Deuce or Donovan.
@@jeffburdick869 I'm talking National Team career. Such as stats.
@@joshuasimmons8160 These guys are young. They've 10-15 years to put up stats. But there's no doubt that Pulisic, Reyna, McKennie, Adams, Dest are already better than Deuce and Donovan were. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE Deuce Dempsey and Donovan. But the bar has been raised.
@@jeffburdick869 Pulisic is obviously the better player from a skill perspective but LD and Dempsey has had a better Career so far
well, I mean, sure. But Deuce and Donovan have completed their careers. The young guns are just starting theirs.
Steve Cherundolo(or Dolo as we called him) had 370 caps with Hannover 96, many of them in the Bundesliga. He was arguably the best US defender ever.
After all these years that 4th goal still effin hurts!
I enjoy a different perspective when it comes to USA vs MEX. 👍
Enjoyed watching and listening to your commentary/reaction.
I live in Pasadena and while its vague in my memory i do remember how wild the city was on this day .
Giovani Dos Santos goal was the best of the whole game! Who can forget this goal! He doesn't even look up until after he kicks the ball......and he scores!!!! He could of done it blindfolded!!!💚🇲🇽🤍🇲🇽❤️
the moment Luka's American fans feel betrayed by him enjoying that goal a little too much 18:19 😂
One of the best goals ever scored in my opinion
This was a huge game for Mexico. The US had the better of the rivalry for the first time since the 2002 World Cup. This was the game where Mexico took the title back and kept it until last week. It's a very exciting rivalry!!
.
When Mexico plays in the USA, most of the time it’s like if they are playing home
That goal deserved a to be at least mentioned in puskas award.
Pablo Barrera (2 goals) was actually playing at West Ham at the time. The commentators refered to him as "Hammer".
Watching all the stats info in the outro was almost as good as the game highlights. Thanks!
Quite a few important names from Mexico at the time. Obviously Marquez and Chicharito the most notable ones. Moreno, Guardado, dos Santos the most recognizable ones after them. Salcido played for Fulham back then (would have stayed in Europe longer but his house was robbed and his family wanted to return home). Juarez was at Celtic F.C.. Barrera was at West Ham. Overall a pretty decent squad.
Appreciate your video and overall knowledge of the game, man! If you want to capture the Mexican market (speaking of views) yous should react to the best goals from Chicharito, Jimenez, Carlos Vela.
Cheers from Mexico!
Carlos vela? 😑The guy who chose to play for the US instead...?
@@animavestra2388 For the US? Not really, he just wanted to have an easy end of his career, but you can't deny that he had some amazing moments in England and Spain
I think we've always been uncommonly good at set-pieces relative to how good we are at Soccer. My theory is that they resemble plays (American) Football and inbounds plays in Basketball. Most coaches and players would have played one or both as youths. I could be wrong though, I'm only a casual fan.
Gios goal will always be in my top
This team USA were the dream team. I grew up watching These guys. Weird seeing Dempsey without tattoos. Landon Donovan was the poster boy for Team USA.
This was the match that finally got Bob Bradley fired... and Adu was a flash in the pan but actually had an alright match... the big turning point was when our RB was injured and Bob Bradley moved our LB to play on the Right when Cherundolo went down instead of bringing in a straight RB, ... so Eric Lichiaj went to RB and the dreaded Johnathan Bornstein was brought in at LB... and he just blew it over and over again... note all the goals came from his side, and when Dos Santos was in he just blew past him over and over again... and remember Dos Santos is all left foot. so if you make him use his weaker foot he has nothing but Bornstein just couldn't do squat even against a one footed player.
Instead of having three defenders set with one change at RB, the left back was moved to right so all the training with one center back went out the window and instead he was working with the other right sided CB... so the entire defense was scrambled ... this was a 2-0 lead going into the toilet and losing 2-4 ... soon the third try got Jurgen Klinsmann to take the gig... which was a mixed bag but better than sticking with Bob... and of course this was barely a year after Bradley got a four year contract extension... so we had to eat that mistake.
How could that goal not win the PUSKAS award???
Damn you should have watched USA vs Mexico where Paul aguilar scores sn amazing goal 118th minute
Please react to: "JAVIER HERNANDEZ - All Mexico Goals!" and "Javier Chicharito Hernandez : All 59 goals for Manchester United" 🔥
SUN'S OUT GUNS OUT ...and I really enjoy the soccer reactions because I'm learning about the sport myself and you're teaching me.
This game was in Pasadena Ca. A few minutes from Los Angeles so yes 90 percent of the fans were Mexican. I was at this game and the ambient was thru the roof
Freddy Adu may be the biggest bust in sports in actuality vs hype
I think there’s definitely an interest in these types of vids! Especially seeing as you love the sport so much no matter the country or league. Love the insight and passion you show for all the players.
Should give the 2015 match a watch next, that one is really good too and it isn’t 480p 😂
Mexico vs Croatia in the 2014 word cup was crazy good as well but you might have already watched that one cause world cup is always a good time no matter the teams.
Amazing video man I say hi from Arizona USA
I spent 2 weeks working on a project just for my teacher to forgot to grade it and now it's too late BRUH
Chivas-America is the big derby in Mexico. Tigres-mty a big derby in the north as of late. Especially with the money they’ve invested. But plenty of smaller teams like Puebla just had their best finish n decent history building a solid team with little to nothing. Just sold most of the team so the rebuild will be interesting
Damn that game was really good for Mexico and even better for Dos Santos. That last goal holy smokes!!
Landon was the OG Captain America🇺🇸
Love when you bring out stats of the game it gives me insite on how they played 💯
Glad that you show love for chicha. Half our country don't give him the credit he deserves.
And there is another video from the other competing network that had legendary narrator El Perro Bermudez. I was watching that one live, and what he said will forever live in the minds of every mexican... formal Gio formal, Gio, firmala, firmala, firmalaaaaa.... firmala meaning sign it! And he did sign it.
You should watch the USA vs Mexico "dos a cero" games😅
Transformers 3 was in theaters at that time. The camera angle was a supposed transformer broadcasting the game. It was a sponsorship thing.
I still see this game in my nightmares. Please check out the 2007 Gold Cup Final. I was at that one. Still my greatest sport memory. I haven't missed a minute of USMNT soccer since before the 1990 World Cup. US Vs Mexico is always exciting. Our greatest moment was beating Mexico in the second round of the 2002 World Cup.
the game took place in Pasadena California at the Rose Bowl
I cried too. Its so beautiful
As a Mexico fan, we hated landon Donovan that guy was insanely good. The US have not produced another player of his caliber til this day
to be mexican american and seeing both these teams go at it is always a fucking blast no matter who wins i still feel pride lmao
It may not have been an epic game in terms of highlights early but it had some highlights late and still stands out for me as an American when the USA beat Mexico for the first time in over 70 years at Azteca Stadium in 2012.
Some times Mexico fans outnumber the US fans at our home games especially in LA due to the popularity of the game in the US. So that’s why the stadium is full of Mexico fans.
All the immigrants go there, and their kids rather support their parent's country than the country they are birth from.
react to more amazing games from years back that the public has mostly forgotten about. im no RUclipsr but that sounds like a series that could do really well. especially if you shout out the comment of someone who requests that game, would probably increase comment activity. Nice job with this one
Having commentators speaking Spanish is the only way I am not bored watching soccer NGL. They tried to merge Canada/US MLS with Liga MX once in the past but transportation was the issue mostly as Mexico's national roads are not as good as Canada/US.
From the 70's to the early 90's the U.S. National team would always play games against Mexico and Central American teams in Southern California in order to draw bigger crowds, even if the majority of those crowds would be supporting their opponents. It wasn't until the late 90's that the U.S. had enough support to keep those games out of opponent friendly areas of the country.
ah yes Freddy Adu the great American hope hype for US soccer. he was suppose to elevate soccer next to the other great big 4 American sports football, baseball, basketball, hockey.... not his fault he couldnt live up to the hype.
This is why I laugh every time I hear the US team is almost there over the next couple years… lol
The USMNT has a very long way to ago and winning one local tournament doesn't impress me but they can get better if they capitalize on this win moving forward and having realistic expectations regarding future tournaments. KC
That was fun. Hope you react to more like this!
1:20 he forgot half of his fanbase are sports fans
Landon’s stints in the Prem where on loan at Everton in between MLS seasons to keep in shape. So not really fair to compare to Dempsey who had full seasons.
Hey Luka, Donovan used to be called Captain America, he was the top player here in the US. I was there for this game and the majority was Mexico fans, this is usually the case when they play in Southern California. Barrera who first scored for Mexico was a great player, sadly he got injured and was never really the same. Still was a great player. I’m a Mexican in the US and I love this country but my futbol shaped heart bleeds red white and green.
This game showed USA who's boss. that was the best day of my life for seeing my country win
25:02 The 2003 Gold cup final, Mexico vs Brazil, is the first game I ever watched and is probably the reason why football/soccer is the only sport that I enjoy watching. I was 7 years old at the time. If you can find it somewhere I would definitely recommend watching it. The Brazilian team was no joke, they almost took the title even though Concacaf invited them to fill the spot in the tournament.
My was the 2009 gold cup final.
Sport stats is natural for you, good video man
Simplemente UN golazo chingón!!!
Dempsey and Donovan are considered two of the best field players for the US. They're tied for most goals although Dempsey could have beaten him if not for the issues with his heart.
So yeah Dempsey had a more storied career in Europe, but Dempsey played in 3 world cups (should have been 4), and always came up clutch, which is why he was Captain America
Giovani Dos Santos in Barcelona was very good I didn't remember that he was so good until I watched a video of higlights and if he was, and it's true he had movements and a style similar to Messi in fact that fourth goal he scored is a goal style more like Maradona's, but the bad thing deflated his level because of what happens to many Mexicans for preferring to be distracted by things outside of football and parties
Late to this but Freddy Adu had a later career resurgence after getting a transfer to a Brazilian club where he got some minutes. His ball handling skills were never the problem with his game, he just couldn't get playing time anywhere. Also Donovan was definitely considered the best because he played consistently well for like 15 years, whereas Dempsey perhaps had a higher skill ceiling but peaked relatively late in his career.
I remember that several things happened after this during that year. Since fullback Eric Lichaj failed to clear a ball instead clumsily gave it away with a pathetic touch on Mexico's 2nd goal, and failed to jump high enough stop the 4th goal from happening demonstrating insufficient athleticism, I never wanted to see him again, and he was basically exiled from the national team for YEARS, deservedly. Freddy Adu's national team career didn't last much longer. Finally, Bob Bradley was fired almost immediately after the match and later Klinsmann was hired. After 2011, a 2014 World Cup Qualifying victory is sandwiched between years of heartbreaks, humiliation at their hands in official games, a brutal frustration which finally ended with that Nations League Final victory on June 6th.
Im just gonna tell you like this no one was getting that ball out the 4th goal was gonna happen unless howard would have stayed on his line 😂 just stay grounded you know the game was mexicos either way that last goal just cut their hearts out
dude yes more mexico soccer reactions forsure!
Yes bro do more of these reactions 🙏🏼
Thanks for the video.
Gotta react to Mexico vs USA 3-2 CONCACAF Cup 2015
That game was pretty wild as well
You are such a good youtuber. Keep up the good work bro
"outside of the foot" kicks are called "de tres dedos" (three fingers/toes).
This was in the US I believe. Most games happen in the US but there’s just more Mexican fans.
craziest game ive ever seen live.
