Mount Etna eruption: Explosions of lava from new active crater puts on spectacular show

Hear the explosive sounds of Mount Etna's volcano eruption as its 'Voragine' crater, dormant for four years, became active again -- sending lava shreds out from its new cone.
At around 3000 metres of altitude, the volcano in Italy showed off a spectacle of its unusual Strombolian activity with a majestic 'cascade' of lava with magma flowing inside the new crater, called 'Bocca Nuova'.
Incredible aerial video captured close-ups of the natural spectacle from day to night.
