I saw a few videos on this subject, but none that really went soup-to-nuts on the process in an easy to follow way. While longer than I prefer to make my videos generally, I feel this one warrants the extra time and effort.
Good luck with your projects and let me know if this helped you out.
    Cheers!

You're very kind. I did like the clarity and angles of some of the shots here to make this job easy. It really is easy when you know how. Not always true on these cars!

No doubt you are pretty fired up! You should be. Hopefully some other vids on the channel can get your juices flowing pre-launch. Enjoy!

Outstanding video! We need more 997 content. I am putting on a Momo wheel and all of the YT videos seem to be on the 996. Well, I figured they would be the same getting the airbag off and that the 997 would also use the T30 torx. I could not get a torx of any size to release the airbag. Thanks to this video, I can see there is no screw to actually go into. You saved me going down the road of James at Auto Amateur! (not that I would have been quite that impulsive!)

Have to love the guy for showing the dark side of his wrenching! I've done it - but not every time! I'm 987 guy so sorry can't help you more.

997 wheel install on my 987 is complete. The only issue I've run into is the horn no longer works. If I find a workaround, I'll update this comment.
Note: You'll get PSM errors when you first fire the car up. Take it around the block, get it to full lock in either direction, turn it off and back on and the PSM errors will be gone.

Ahhhh! Nicely done! You made the video I had intended to, originally, before my knife-fueled rage took over. 😆🔪 A better job of it though, I’m sure. Nice one. The new wheel looks awesome too!! 🥳🥳🥳🙌 Congrats.

You definitely paved the way. Pucker factor was high re-inserting but I think it helped to be super mindful and aware of the potential challenges.

A good tip would have been to set the wheels centred first not off to the right as you had it
Also to not close the hood as it electronic and if the battery is disconnected you can’t open it easily
Otherwise I liked seeing errors made as it shows us how to overcome them well done

Nice video. Only thing that's disconcerting is those mismatched index marks on the old wheel. Makes me think that wheel you took off wasn't the original one - I don't think Porsche factory would've put it on that way. Beautiful new wheel though.

How did you go about sourcing the new wheel, and where bought from?

For OEM stuff I generally start at Suncoastparts.com. They are an authority on P-cars and organize their offerings well so you can easily know what's suitable to your car model and generation.

@@512TXSDIY I was thinking of doing an equipment for car RUclipsrs video. You think it would have any value? Could also do one on editing but that's a bit more involved and above my pay grade. If you want to hit me up with a DM on Insta I'm happy to share any tips I've picked up along the way.
