By 18 I had quite the dowry. One of my treasures was the slicer you are using. Mine is identical to yours. I have used it all these years without fail. What a magnificent tool!
Awwww she reminds me of my Grandma so much. Lost her when I was a small child. She taught me to crochet and we just talked all the time, she was one of those Grandmas that didnt treat or talk to you like you were a baby and I loved that about her. She even let me help her in the kitchen when I was little. That was 49 yrs ago, My last memory seeing her alive is at 10 yrs old when we made crochet house slippers together 2 weeks later I was sitting on her steps at her house at the funeral. My mom is battling triple negative breast cancer, I flew home to help her through this nasty disease. We have our hot tea in the evening and watch your channel sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry. You remind me of my granny, which is my moms mom..and the memories we share while watching your channel. My granny worked for anchor hocking glass factory and collected many glassware pieces. Thank you for your stories and recipes. It really brightens our dark days.❤

Wonderful! I'm back (I am a subscriber as RTR Records as well) sure did miss watching your videos, and your voice and care. I had to travel home for Daddy and Mom, as well as VA Doctors appointments for me. Dec 31 My great friend (Worked for-with me) passed away and I stayed back to re-patriat his remains, that was a terrible time for me after 15 years of working together and talking every day. Thank you Granny Pat! ❤ I have an old slicer grater, very similar to yours. Mine is a more upright type. My mother got it as a wedding gift in 1949. I use it ALL the time and she did too! It is SO handy and easily cleans. I believe it was a Duncan Hines. 🙂

Dear Granny Pat, I watched your meatloaf video late last night, and I enjoyed your presentation very much. I was reminded of a time years ago when my aunt was teaching me to make her Italian meatball recipe. They were always so good with homemade pasta she got from a friend. The real thing of interest to me concerned the addition of the crackers, in that instance Saltines. I’m sure most people know this trick, but it was new to me. She opened the top of a sleeve of saltines, and let a little warm water from the tap drip into the whole sleeve of crackers. Then, she secured the opening and mashed in both hands the sleeve of crackers and then added them to her meatball mixture. The result, I noticed, was a very smooth meat consistency. This is not a comment of great merit, but as you have said, it is a sort story of a treasured time with a relative who lovingly passed on to me a beloved recipe of hers, and time spent with someone whom now, I miss very much. Thank you for reading this, and kudos for all your videos.
I love your stories and real way of cooking that we all do. My mama’s meatloaf ; onions, gr peppers, salt & pepper, garlic, sleeve of crushed ritz, eggs, grated cheddar cheese… she did tomato soup surrounding the meatloaf & cut up potatoes & called it meatloaf & red potatoes. I do the ketchup, small squirt of mustard & brown sugar as my topping. Is such a versatile dish. ❤

Really enjoy your videos, i make meat loaf often,my family loves it.i always make it different, i always say you'll never get the same meat loaf twice, unless its a traditional meat loaf recipe my mother made witch was delicious,she was an amazing cook.my sister says i take after mom with cooking, what a compliment ❤

Hint: Add a few more crackers and reduce the brown sugar to a TBSP. Otherwise, it’s delicious.

I watched your meatloaf video late last night, and I enjoyed your presentation very much.
I was reminded of a time years ago when my aunt was teaching me to make her Italian meatball recipe. They were always so good with homemade pasta she got from a friend. The real thing of interest to me concerned the addition of the crackers, in that instance Saltines. I’m sure most people know this trick, but it was new to me. She opened the top of a sleeve of saltines, and let a little warm water from the tap drip into the whole sleeve of crackers. Then, she secured the opening and mashed in both hands the sleeve of crackers and then added them to her meatball mixture. The result, I noticed, was a very smooth meat consistency.
This is not a comment of great merit, but as you have said, it is a sort story of a treasured time with a relative who lovingly passed on to me a beloved recipe of hers, and time spent with someone whom now, I miss very much.

I love your stories and real way of cooking that we all do. My mama’s meatloaf ; onions, gr peppers, salt & pepper, garlic, sleeve of crushed ritz, eggs, grated cheddar cheese… she did tomato soup surrounding the meatloaf & cut up potatoes & called it meatloaf & red potatoes. I do the ketchup, small squirt of mustard & brown sugar as my topping. Is such a versatile dish. ❤
