- RT Senior Editor Grae Drake spoke to James Cameron, writer/director of 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day 3D,' about what parts of the film he's most excited for audiences to see in 3D, the trick to filming good 3D, what movies from history he'd want to watch in 3D, and who would win in a bar brawl: Sarah Connor or Neytiri?

What's your opinion on 3D movies?
it works
i love 3D if it right done like james has said
Used effectively, 3D can intensify the movie-watching experience by emulating how we see things in real life. Unfortunately 3D has been used as a gimmick to embellish low-quality films. We should avoid judging 3D by its worst implementations. Instead, fans and critics should encourage filmmakers to incorporate 3D as they have digital video -- as a way of making better movies.
"I knew this movie was great" The leftist lesbian feminist Hillary Loser lover haven't seen it. I know why, because is one of the manliest, macho movies ever created ;)
J.C. L. "leftist lesbian feminist Hillary Loser"
Sounds like some little alt-right snowflake was triggered.
"...one of the manliest, macho movies ever created"
So macho at the end Arnold learns the importance of crying.
one of my favorite directors
One of my favorite writer and director PERIOD !
A legend
The GOAT, IMO.
Terminator 2 was always my favorite movie as a kid
Me too and T1 especially it's part of my childhood.
finally a good interviewer. it is so f*ckin rare to see nowadays and Cameron enjoyed it.
I enjoyed the 3d, it wasn't eye popping stuff off the screen, but it felt like there was layers to what you saw in the movie. The nuclear dream scene worked well with it.
One of the best directors who's ever been on the planet. Greatly enjoyed this interview but I sure wish he'd "get with it" on the Avatar movies........I'm tired of walking out of the theater disappointed all the time lately.
Tak Engle They are filming some small scenes already, and will be on principal filming in September. We will get 4 Avatar movies between 2020 and 2025. Terminator Reboot should be in there some place too.
"Terminator Reboot should be in there some place too."
Please tell me you're joking.
Tak Engle
He finally got with it.
I would watch all of Cameron's films in 3D. Imagine Aliens or The Abyss in 4K 3d !
John 1112 Man, how awesome would that be!
He's so chill wtf
I love how he credits all the people behind the scenes, working on Avatar.
never knew Paul McCartney directed T2 :)
pmajoros talented guy all around
Aliens is my favourite movie so Aliens 3D would be amazing!
James Camera and his 3D Camerons
Why not the first Terminator? Why not The Abyss?
True Lies in 3D would be epic
I just wanted to see T2 in the big screen and it was awesome,
Legendary Director and i watched terminator 2 infinite no of times
Great interviewer. Love Jim's movie's.
Today watched terminator 2 in 3d, tomorrow I will see in 2d always big fan of terminator, always waited for Cameron and Arnold to come together for new terminator movie
I wish I could watch 3D, but I can't get the 3D Glasses on over my regular Glasses, not only that but even without my Glasses they are incredibly uncomfortable.
If an Optician can create a comfortable pear of 3D Glasses that combines my prescription Lens with them (meaning one lens over each eye, no clip lenses), then sign me up.
"and an episode of dark angel"
Everyone: No thank you
Great interview and interviewer!
We want True Lies on bluray!
What a great positive interview with good original questions. Thanks RT.
One of the best director of all time ever greatest film maker
Good but the quality of 3D varies quite a bit. Also we need to figure out the darkness issue.
THE ABYSS in 3D. 📽☕
AWESOME INTERVIEW!!!!!!!
I don't care about the 3D, I just want to see Aliens in the theatre
Always cool customer.
i finally got to watch the FULL uncut version... UNLIKE Aliens, with T2, i prefer the theatrical version. i personally don't like the whole dream sequence featuring Kyle Reese...it just cheapens the movie. the theatrical version is just near perfect. ALIENS (the extended version) IS perfect. that scene where Ripley learns about her daughter's fate..is just heartbreaking and ADDS to her maternal connection to Newt that much more.
Man, i like this guy that what he is..
James cameron likes GLADIATOR?! awesome!
I don't understand how rotten tomatoes is still a thing!! Their site has been outright broken for years!!!
James was always my fav film maker then lucas i said it love both
Aliens!!!!!
Sadly Now 92
Terminator
Cameron, quit dicking around and make Avatar 2 already!
It finally happened!
It’s quite disappointing that James decided not to do Terminator movies after the first 2 parts because they are really tech classics. The rest somehow fail to make the mark and are basically garbages. 😮
I like how that Patty Jenkins chick with one mediocre cringy movie dares to question this guy.
I thought that was the mediocre film he was talking about, people consider Wonder Woman a film?
The Oscars? What? They've already been handed out? What did Wonder Woman win?
Also 92 critics approved of it, but the average rating is 7.5/10. It was good, like any standard Marvel movie, nothing amazing like every single second of T2 and Aliens.
It's got a campaign but it does not mean it will get Best Picture type of status. It was a good movie, not a great movie. How do you even know the Academy is taking it seriously? We won't know that until like January.
Eh and? Jenkins is ok but never reaches the heights of Cameron.
I'm sensing a strong feminist disturbance in the force.
Just your imagination. Tread lightly.
I watched t2 in 3D. It's an average conversion. Despite being converted by the best 3D company in the world. For example, When the t-1000 is frozen and smashed into pieces towards the end of the movie I was expecting those pieces to pop on the screen in 3D. They didn't. The scene was flat and distorted. The movie looked great otherwise, but 3D is dead, particularly when it comes to post conversion 3D. Nobody is buying 3D TVs anymore. Cameron needs to accept this and move on.
He Stole it from sophia stewart
men compare their athletics abilities to beast, creatures, and animals in the KINGDOM!!! i wrote the 1st ever scripts WHERE IT IS DONE!!! BEARS, TIGERS, JAGUARS LIONS!!!!!
Her laughter is somehow... Idk.
3D movies suck... most of the time
...and he ruined it all.
