As a foreigner from a country with similar language dynamics, I take the liberty to say that Maurice Sam's ability to switch back and forth from Standard English to Pidgin demonstrates not just his versatility as an actor, but his true identity as a Nigerian. A true to life screenplay. Excellent acting all-round.
It is so common hearing Africans speak English with their local dialects. Mixture of languages to express an idea. Example The Creole language of Sierra Leone which includes 3 or more languages.

Chinenye Ubah is a fantastic actress. She interpreted different characters in one movie. Bossy, OCD, Proud, Arrogant, Unbearable, Loving and Funny. It takes a good critic to see her topnotch delivery in this movie. See how she went from all of her unbearable behavior to a soft girl in love. Her tone changed as well when she came to beg Maurice. Kudos to her, she’s always nailed all her roles. Every other actor was fantastic as well.

Expectations makes me really grapple witth Matters of the Heart. In this instance i'm truly torn between my belief system that you are enough and don't ever have to change for someone but then magically Expectations makes me realize and appreciate the catch 22 that it's OK to make some changes to elevate/better ourselves, accomodate, or make someone you truly Love Happy!!. Maurice's Heart was always in the right place but he went about things the wrong way for ultimately deceiving Chinenye about who he genuinely was and evitably became resentful and burnt out after having to pretend too long. The best part about Expectations is Chinenye learning Pidgin and telling Maurice (Oliver ) she was pregnant eventhough she use to despise Pidgin. Ebube was so Funny, Spunky, Kind and Emotionally Intelligent. She was really cute looking out for her Madame. She always saw that Maurice was good for Chinenye. I liked how Ebube and Maurice would always sneak and talk about how Chinenye was doing and what he could do to win her back. I would like to see Expectations Part 2

It takes a good critic to see her topnotch delivery in this movie.
See how she went from all of her unbearable behavior to a soft girl in love. Her tone changed as well when she came to beg Maurice.
Kudos to her, she’s always nailed all her roles. Every other actor was fantastic as well.

Expectations makes me really grapple witth Matters of the Heart. In this instance i'm truly torn between my belief system that you are enough and don't ever have to change for someone but then magically Expectations makes me realize and appreciate the catch 22 that it's OK to make some changes to elevate/better ourselves, accomodate, or make someone you truly Love Happy!!. Maurice's Heart was always in the right place but he went about things the wrong way for ultimately deceiving Chinenye about who he genuinely was and evitably became resentful and burnt out after having to pretend too long. The best part about Expectations is Chinenye learning Pidgin and telling Maurice (Oliver ) she was pregnant eventhough she use to despise Pidgin. Ebube was so Funny, Spunky, Kind and Emotionally Intelligent. She was really cute looking out for her Madame. She always saw that Maurice was good for Chinenye. I liked how Ebube and Maurice would always sneak and talk about how Chinenye was doing and what he could do to win her back. I would like to see Expectations Part 2
