I'll comment only on one phrase the king uttered: "seven decades of occupation...". Really? I thought Jordan occupied the West Bank (thus the name, the West Bank of Jordan) from 1948 to 1967 and Egypt occupied Gaza in the same time period. No state of Palestine was established in that time frame by either Jordan or Egypt. That leaves us with 57 years, hardly seven decades. The king's speech makes it seem as if only Israel were responsible for every evil the region has experienced.

Jordan or Egypt wouldn't annexed the WB and Gaza had it not been for the Arab-Isreali war, '48-50. There is no reason to believe they would have annexed those areas otherise - without the creation of Israel. Of course, Israel invaded those areas in '67, like they do everything else - with brutal force. So King Abdullah wasn't being deceitful - in essence, the Palestinians have been under occupation for over 7 decades.
