Your video is to the point, there is no unnecessary talk. THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge.
Glad it was helpful!
The darker the red the sweeter the pomegranate. If u hold the pomegranate in your hand you can squash the seeds within the inside from the outside. Once it's really soft. You can puncture a small hole and drink the pomegranate. The thick skin prevents it from being messy when squeezing it. The light color from my experience of eating a lot of them aren't well developed but the dark blood red are really sweet. Pomegranates are great energy booster and also give you great smooth. Blemish free skin.
Great tip, thanks. I'm going to try that, very cool.
There are varieties of white-pink pomegranates that are the sweetest and taste like sugar cane. These ones are more tender than the red pomegranates and much sweeter.
@@LepzOnerDanh thanks too I will try those too..what varieties you recommend
My neighborhood has a pomegranate tree 😍 it was HUGE this year and I just noticed that it was pruned back to tiny lolol. People have been neglecting the fruit tho and now, they’re all split from being too ripe 😭 I just grabbed one that split and I’m currently putting the seeds into water for germination 😍 I’m so excited lolol
@@GrowingInTheGardenfor germination, any idea which seeds are better?? Some are floating and others are sinking. There’s also some pink, some white. Should I be tossing one or the other right off the bat? Thanks in advance 🥰 was also super curious about the bugs 😳 so interesting and great info!!!
The pomegranate trees around here Dominican Republic grow wild. The fruits are small and not real sweet, but, the flowers are beautiful and attract many hummingbirds. I’ve planted cuttings and they are developing nicely.
This information will be handy as I just realized today that I have over 45 Pom seedlings that I seem to have grown from seed. I tossed them in a raised bed last year and they are all over the place now, honestly I didn't know it would be that easy buy I do have two green hands, lol.
Very informative! Zero fluff! Just exactly what I was after! Outstanding video! Thanks! And yes, I’m yelling! Construction outside is making me nuts!
What a wonderfully informative and overall great video! Thank you!
Thank you! So much great info. I always thought those bugs were protecting my pomegranates! 😱 So I never killed them. 😖 We had tons of pomegranates, guavas, figs, mandarins, and guanabanas last season but ate none! The birds, squirrels, and bugs ate them or damaged them (except the mandarines) indiscriminately. Not this coming season! The trees are pruned and ready to go. I hate netting, but I'm gonna have to this time around. I'll make sure to leave a handful of fruit for our beautiful birds, squirrels, and other critters that come thru our garden.
Awesome! I would love to view pictures of your plants.
Thank you very much this was a very comprehensive video. You covered all of the essential points without fluff. You're truly a breath of fresh air from the other posters
What about suckers growing out the bottom, should I prune them now in May? Thanks for good information
My plan with the two varieties I have is to check a fruit once a week, taking careful notes, so that the following year I will know exactly what their particular indications of peak ripeness are. Except, of course, for the birds. LOL
Very helpful, concise, and informative video.
I wish I could plant one. This would be so cool. Alas I have a tiny yard and already two massive trees in it. Still cool. I've been binging your videos wanting to turn what space I do have into a garden. Thank you for your posts on desert growing.
Very comprehensive video with excellent information and illustrations. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you. Nicely explained.
Love love this. Straight to the point. A mil tumps up👍👍👍
Yay, I'm finally getting flowers on my trees that I started from seeds.
Wonderful!
How long did it take to flower from seeds and what method used? Thanks.
@@soniamarshall9293 It took seven years. I just planted the seeds in soil from a grocery store pomegranate.
@@Jack-rh5br God bless and praying you will get fruit. In 2020, I got 4 fruit from a gratefruit pit after 17 years and it was good, this year I see much more flowers. Wished I had planted more types of fruit trees earlier in my youth when I got my land. This year I bought grafted apples, pears, citrus, also muscadine grapes, bananas due to my age, I want to be able to get fruit earlier if God allows me more time here.
Very useful information...cheers
Great info. Thank you!
Excellent tips. Thanks.

Was anxious when the flowers dropped now I understand with patience I will harvest later

Thanks for watching. I agree... it's worth the wait for the ripe ones.
Oh my gosh I freaking love your channel. So glad I found it. I run a permaculture business out of Gilbert so your content is a great resource.
Awesome! Thank you!
I just spotted my very first leaf footed bug! I’ve had my tree for years and never saw the bugs you were referring to. It was a giant adult-he did not make it past the morning! Hope i don’t see a bunch more but we shall see 😊
I wonder if preying mantis would eat the young leaf footers?
Mantis are the coolest bugs on Earth and even good pets. Love to see many of Northern Ca. vinyards switched to pom farms! They are 3 dollars each at Trader Joes right now.Talk about money trees....
I love the background so much! My ideal kind of wall! Thank you for your information!

In New Mexico in 2011 we had an “arctic” event for a few weeks and temperatures actually hit 20 below. My pomegranate bush lost all its stems but the roots survived and in a few years I was getting fruit again.
Great information, thank you .

Thanks for the great advice, Your command is my order indeed.
Thanks for watching!
I have a Wonderful Pomegranate out front, and an Azadi Pomegranate out back, both doing very well. Both put leaves back on this spring, so they both overwintered. I love that!
And, they both responded well, right here in Tucson, AZ, to the S.T.U.N. method of growing things.

Helpful, thanks for sharing. I bought a house with a good size pomegranate tree in the yard so I've been researching. Seems like the fruit is pretty sweet even when the arils are pink.

A good informative video.
Thank you for your amazing video. I kept hoping to find someone with tips on pomegranate trees and boy did I get much more. Praying that soon my two year old Wonderful pomegranate will start producing more than just flowers.
I’ve had my home for 5 years and I’ve not been keeping up with a the pomegranate tree in the back thanks for the information. I recently saw that bug and thought it was a large tick. thank again for the information, next year I should be able to share the harvest with my neighbors.
Thanks my promgenates too sweet, thanks for sharing your trees look really nice.I havw to trim ours after the season.
they are soooooo expensive! the bigger ones go for $5 each (if not higher here in new york)! we need more farms growing them here in the States. people like them, but there aint enough of them to go around.
oh, when i was a kid, we had an "accidental" pomegranate tree that grew at the corner of the yard next to a wall. it grew crazy, loaded with fruits every time. we found out later that the tree had grown next to the septic tank and was using the pasties in there for fertilizer and water!! the fruits would crack open like a flower, into four sections, sweet and tangy, beloved by the local birds.
the bugs we killed by sprsying the tree with nicotine, yeah, bunch of cigarate buts soaked in water that we sprayed on the plants. organic and efferctive
Super information about pomegranate.
Very informative Thank you
Wonderful pomegranate trees! How beautiful, helpful and informative your video is! Thank you for sharing!

Awesome video with great info! Thank you for sharing your wisdom. My pomegranate tree is still a babe and I was wondering why it didn’t hang onto its fruit. You answered my question perfectly. I look forward to more of your videos. You are always right on point. 💚
Glad to hear it helped. Thanks for watching!
Great video! I bought one from the nursery and it’s a baby. I thought it’s dead hence seeking for information. Thank you Angela! 💕
Pomegranate is so refreshing and nice
I really loved how you explained the whole thing, this is the plant I wanted to plant but ended up planting a different verity which the trunk never gets bigger than 1/2" . I am in Central FL with a lot of sun if that big tree you have can survive here and if you happen to sell plant I would love to buy you.
Hail knocked the blossoms off our pomegranate last year and the year before. Good crop this year. Three to four weeks and we’ll be harvesting
Glad I found your channel our trees are 40yrs old here in Las Vegas. This season is the first we found those flat footed bugs yuck. There were tons of them so I saturated the trees with neem oil. Hopefully after a few treatments they'll leave us alone.

Thank you. You have inspired me to grow cantaloupes. Now, I have very sweet tasting and large organic cantaloupes. I think the sweet part is from my soil because all my vegetables are very sweet. Always enjoy your video of how to in everything plantings and gardening.

Awesome video! I planted mine in the spring of 2019. I am hoping that I get a few fruits this coming year. The tree is growing very good but so far no fruit. You said to be patient and I am doing my best.
Fruit will come, it always does.

Thanks!
I'm gonna try n grow a lot of these in a greenhouse at my new farm in upstate NY. Great video.
Good luck!
That was an extremely informative video! I am getting ready to order a couple of trees (delivered as bare-root) at the absolute worst time of year (blazing midsummer Z9B!), but I think (Hope!) I can pot them up and keep them safe for a few months. Thanks for sharing!
Where did you order them from ?
Greetings from Bulgaria, everything what you are saying about pomegranate is right. I have tree in my yard and planted 2 more
Hello from Arizona. Thanks so much.
Great job, this year was my first heavy crop. I think next year, I will take time to remove multiple flowers on a single stem. I really appreciate the comment about fertilizing. It is a beautiful tree. And you have done a great job describing it.
Thanks so much.
Starting some pomegranate in our greenhouse. We had a bush at our old homestead but it never got higher than four feet. I think it’s because it was under a pine tree. We got some new pomegranate from a friend that says these are a tasty breed. The old one was at 4500 feet the new one will be at 5200 and we do get snow but rarely go down to 20F. Here it will get full sun for sure. Here’s to hoping for fruit in the future. 😁
That's great. Happy planting. Full sun is key for sure.
Love your stuff kick on love it
Thanks for watching!
Nice breakdown
