No, I never needed to use fixative (I don't use soft pastels often and when I use, I rub it into paper surface thoroughly) and I always was afraid to ruin with it areas made with colored pencils.
Hi - Thankyou you have given me a few ideas that I love and well your art work is amazing - tip try using baby oil to blend oil pastel with I have used it sussesfully with my Neo oil pastels (neo 1 not neo 2)
Dear Alena, Thank you for sharing your lovely works again. Actually I remember subscribing to your channel after watching that whale flipper page. I am currently, slowly working on the "birds breaking free from cage" page. As for the background, I do plan on using NeoColor IIs, but as always dread to ruin the whole piece. So I might just leave it bare! In your opinion which/whose books have the most forgiving/tolerant paper? Lately I found the paper quality to be the deciding factor in colouring books. Cheers, Peggy
Hi Peggy, sorry for the late reply - sometimes RUclips doesn't show them to me. If you want books on watercolor paper look at all books printed by Dutch publisher Pepin Press or books by Jade Gedeon. Paper is amazing in books of Kanoko Egusa , Leila Duly and in all books of Blue Angel publishing (like books of Jasmine Becket-Griffith or dragons of Ravynne Phelan). I also love Dutch editions of Hanna Karlzon books, paper there is so much thicker comparing to English editions.
Has anyone heard if Alena is o. k. ? She posted an update From Kive in Ukraine during the present war there. T h e last time she posted anything to the coloring community was a few months ago from shelter. I'm worried.
Love your colouring style a lot. The backgrounds on the Daria Song books are simply gorgeous!!
Thank you! Backgrounds in Daria Song frightened me a lot until I haven't decided to try Neocolors for them
You are my favorite colourist. Thank You for inspiration!
Thank you! I'm so flattered 💖💖💖
