Can someone explain how there are 2 different capacity engines in the same formula here? I heard the commentator mention 'bigger engines' ... Are they not all 600cc engined outfits?
This will never catch on here in the US. Why you ask? Because there aren't enough horrifying accidents. The stands would be empty. We Americans have a taste for calamity in our sporting arenas. Sad but true.
Dr. Doom the lack of terrifying accidents is the reason why F-1 racing hasn't caught on here in the USA. The F-1 drivers are at a whole different level of expertise, One not appreciated by racing enthusiasts here in the USA to the extent of filling a stadium with fans. The majority of drivers are from other countries where F-1 racing is popular. I believe we have only one F-1 venue located in Texas. NASCAR is an American favorite because the drivers are for the most part recognizable American drivers who have honed their skills on American tracks for years And there are plenty of spectacular smash ups, unfortunately there are a number of deaths. Indy still draws about a quarter million enthusiasts to watch a race that only runs once a year. There are always smash ups but far fewer deaths. Again, I say, no smash ups no crowds, sad but true.
