Thanks! I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to Clermont in October, as I don't currently have my license and getting a ride there may be a bit tricky, but I will try to make it down there later this year or early next year.
Nice video. The 508 I went to in June was actually quieter than I was expecting. I thought it was about as loud as a rotating Whelen, although I never took off my hearing protection at all while it was going off. I wonder if all sirens in Hardin County test every Wednesday at noon? It's a very undocumented county. There's a few other sirens in the county that I think would be worth checking out. Also there's three 508's in Logan County surrounding Indian Lake.
Tommy's Aviation & Sirens Hardin leaves it up to communities with sirens to decide, at least I think that’s how it works there since I have no idea when communities like Mt Victory test or if they use their siren anymore. Ada’s new siren (a 2001-130) in the center of town that was just installed tests on the Third Wednesday at noon and I’m not sure when the university sirens there test but I am told they are tested at a different date and time because the University controls those two.
Is this tested on 3rd Wednesday at noon? Was curious if the other county stuff works then or not, there’s a new siren up where my sister goes to college at but I don’t feel like seeing it if it only does 30 seconds like this one.
I believe this one is tested every Wednesday at noon. I was originally thinking about doing the Darley Model 5 in Mt. Victory, but I don't know for sure if that one is tested at the same time or if it is even active.
Nice! You should come back down to Clermont this month.
