As someone who thinks that the UDM Pro Max is stupid I think that the Cloud Gateway is actually pretty awesome. It has 2.5Gbps across the board which should be standard by now. You even put in a swappable m.2 drive in it? That isn't something anyone else can figure out apparently. There is just so much power in that little box. I love it.
I love Unifi!!!! I deploy their technology everywhere! The new features are so perfect and you guys cover so many of my ise cases! Run beta vsrsions at my home lab. And when i go ro make a change to something, i always go "Doh! Thats a beta feature still!!"
The new NAT & DNS features are long over due but good to see that the firewall functionality of UniFi is getting better. I was thinking about buying a UXG-Max but luckily still not available in Australia yet, so seems I dodged a bullet and will wait for the UCG-Max instead.
@@OldFellaDave They are quite a bit more expensive as they import all their stock directly and swap out any power adapters for AU ones. For the UXG-Max $566 vs $390 if I wait a couple of weeks for the official stock. Also makes me wonder about any warranty issues.
The NAT functionality is so long overdue. A lot of cool stuff in this video, but that was the most substantial delivery considering how gaping a hole it's been in their UI, and for how long it's been demanded by netadmins. No more iptables and unifios-utilities hacks!
Great to see that the Cloud Gateway Ultra gets a bigger brothers. I think this is very interesting for home users. Do you know when Cloud Gateway Max will be available in Germany? I would love to test this new Gateway :-)
Would be nice if you had good documentation of all these new features your rolling out. There is almost no details of how your “site magic” even works. Is it redundant? Can you have unbreakable VPN connections like peplink? Why you keep your cards so close to your chest.
You can create a Traffic rule under "Settings" > "Security" > "Traffic & Firewall Rules" > "Create Entry" Values: -- Name (Something easy to identify) -- Action --> Block -- Source --> Your kid's devices or network -- Custom --> Select your dates & start and end times Enjoy!
I quite literally just had a UDM-Pro get delivered at the office for a client less than an hour ago that this would have been a better fit for! ...oh well 🤷
The cloud gateway max is an absolute monster. But i had loved to see some inprovemens Would love to have PoE+ on all connectors. So you can add direct AP's and other devices without separate PoE injection Miss a SPF+ connector for adding fiber internet connection Miss a secondary MVMe slot to add RAID redundancy Miss internal LTE failover to get better load balancing when main internet fails. Miss two battery slots for power backup in case of an blackout so the cameras can still remains recording. Optional i would love to see intergrated WIFI aswell Optional i would love to see more LAN ports for more connectivety. 8 instead of 4 would be great Hope you can manage to make a device with these improvements. That would be awesome.
Hello, greetings from Argentina. I have a question: USG Pro 4 have the ability to configure or map LAN ports to groups. Is this possible on any other Ubiquiti model beyond the USG3p? I have a project where I need this feature. Specifically, I need each LAN to act as a router port, and both ports with different IP segments should be assigned to VLAN 1. I tested this with a UCG Ultra, and unfortunately, this was not possible, which raised this question before spending money on another device that might not exceed the USG Pro 4 in this function. Thank you. Best regards.
i just bought gateway max very recently....what is the point of releasing gateway max with same price ...why ....Ubiquiti....you make me so disapointed...
DNS CNAME records, when? I'm surviving with A records in their place, but I'd prefer CNAMEs! Also, the Syslog entries in the UI...when? Classic view had them, and now they are gone.
Ubiquiti, I'm going to end it all if you don't release a U7 wall with a built in switch soon... I was about to buy 4 of them and then I saw it has no ports 🙃 For the love of God, Please.
How way ubiquity u missed what everyone wants u brought out the ucg max but no Poe ports just like the ucg when you could of just used the udr ports witch would of gave you two Poe ports hopefully the udr comes back in stock and not replace by the max with it being the same price point
It's powered by a 5V USB-C power supply. Probably not an enough spare juice to safely power PoE devices. I think also heat dissipation is needed for PoE supply. That might also be hard with such a small form factor.
While advertising new "enterprise" devices boasting about their security, essential security features like ssh login with a safe key format or security alerts are still broken on their devices, no matter how "Max" and "Fortress" they come. I wish Ubiquiti would finish up what they started for once instead of popping out new devices every other week.
"Up to 2TB NVMe" -- Why? What's wrong with 4TB? Sure it's more expensive and a lot of storage, but did you cripple the product (hardware?/software?) in some unnecessary way or has someone forgotten to check what's available on the market today? "Nah, 2TB is good enough." Sure, and 640k is enough for anybody. Edit: 2TB sounds ambiguous and very suspicious. UDM has no problems with 3TB HDD drives. No NVMe controller I know of has a limit of 2TB and I heard no one complaining nor have I myself found a 4TB NVMe not working with a certain controller. Unless product designers made a huge step backwards to old file systems and partition tables "2TB limitation" should not exist these days and reads to me like superstition. Folks involved in designing these products earn a ton of money, but they can't go to the electronics discounter to buy a 4TB NVMe drive and test it? Oh come on!
Innovation? Your support for IPv6 is shoddy, you max 2.5G but with IPS and IDS you only get 1.5 while a lot of people over here have connectioin at 4gbit+ and all products kinda lack 10gbit features. I hoped it would be so much better. Just misses the mark. Wouldn't really call this "Max".
Site manager updates, Vantage point Unifi has come a long way and loving it
same! 🙌
All ports 2.5G and NVMe in the Max? What a brilliant machine!
The software side is equally impressive. Thanks, Ubiquiti!
Some PoE would have made it truly Max
Keep crushing it Ubiquiti. I’ve standardized all my clients on the UI stack and it’s the best business choice I’ve ever made.
wait til you start having all these weird issues in which u have no fkn clue why. Enjoy the high while it lasts, my friend.
I hope that one day we may get an updated firewall rule list that doesn't make you want to die using it. Maybe in Network 8.4 or 9.0. Who knows.
Roadmap for 9.6

@@Celsian They are not. This thing is a lot lower power than that. They would also mark the ports

Cloud gateway max looks perfect for my 2nd home. Great work!
Killing the competition ❤❤
A Cisco Meraki killer. They used to laugh at Meraki.
Nice innovation. Now work on having stuff in stock!
Nice one Ubiquiti 👍👍
Ubiquiti keep getting better and better. Great work, guys.
Some nice improvements
Keep up the innovation!

Thank you for releasing this product after I have bought my ultra. I would have gone for this product instead had I known it would come.
did the same buy luckily I can return mine which im doing for the new one

This is a perfect device for my apartment
Please make an ultra version with Poe. This way a home owner who just wants the unifi experience with the advantages of Poe in a compact form
Need Site Magic to allow for more than 15 sites please!
Nice!
Checks all the boxes except PoE, PoE+
Parental controls, am I able to shut off set devices at set times? IE: my kids laptops so they go to bed?
Just create a separate SSID that you join their devices to. Then you can use WiFi Blackout Schedular to schedule when that SSID is disabled in Unifi.
You can create a Traffic rule under "Settings" > "Security" > "Traffic & Firewall Rules" > "Create Entry"
Values:
-- Name (Something easy to identify)
-- Action --> Block
-- Source --> Your kid's devices or network
-- Custom --> Select your dates & start and end times
Enjoy!

I think they will skip 7 and got straight to 8.
It is time for all devices to have 2.5G ports
Thanks.
Do these Network 8.3 updates add support for FQDN Firewall Rules?
Very nice.. does that support web filtering (proxy) ?

When will it arrive in Brazil?
