Very relevant/helpful as an island community may have high use of infrastructure by tourism. Big tourist destinations like Bali Indonesia appear to have stressed water supplies. California USA is making news with water supply issues as well. Your videos are great survival skills:)
Making your own charcoal is always useful! The pre-filter for water going into your tank is excellent - you can install a store-made activated charcoal filter and UV light in the basement and have water you can drink or just use that water for bathing, washing clothes, etc. Lots of options using your own free water machine!
Hello Robert..thing on this: you make healthy sources to use like drink water. But please cover your mouth when you use a saw and metal. Protect your longs. Greets video..a real video. Thanks and grow brother..greets from Holland
(1) You can make homemade activated charcoal by soaking the charcoal in a 25% table salt solution for 24 hours, then rinsing thoroughly with water and letting dry in the sun or oven (at low temp). This is from a Santa Clara university study : "Low-Tech Coconut Shell Activated Charcoal production" (2012). Less than 1/6th as good as the real stuff, but much better than normal charcoal, with no industrial equipment. The smaller the charcoal pieces the better, but charcoal dust can clog the next filter. (2) Real question is: what is the charcoal supposed to be filtering in your rainwater? Is your roof leaching contaminants? (3) terminology note: biochar is charcoal "soaked" in compost, used as a soil amendment.
Please can you tell me... Why do you wash the charcoal? Those small pieces and the charcoal dust... Is it not useful for the filter? I am just thinking about "granular activated charcoal"... I see you washed out the fine charcoal
Love the way you cut a piece of pipe to act as a sleeve to hold the mosquito netting on the overflow pipe! 👍🏻
Glad you liked it!
I'm watching you making that charcoal and I'm thinking ....that's some great barbecue stuff. You surprise me every time I watch your episodes.
Thank you very much 🙂👍

Hello my friend,I have one question; if I keep every day from my fireplace carboned wood , can I use them for the filters? Can we call caracol?
Very good! How many milímeters/year it rain over there?
Here, when I live, around 1100-1200mm per square meter a year
Please can you tell me... Why do you wash the charcoal?

New wood stove?
So it's just charcoal that is used in this?
ruclips.net/video/ymGfzQXiRkM/видео.html
do you have to change out the charcoal after a time? does it stop filtering and how do you know?
Once a year would be ok
That's using the old noggin. Be healthy.
Yes 👍🙂
That is very good!
