🌞 Brace yourselves for a no-nonsense, Midwest Emo-Punk take on the legendary Arthur Theme Song! 🎸🎤

This sounds like the day before you have to go back to school after Summer and you're just walking with your friends in the Park as the leaves begin to brown and fall from the trees... good times
Where I am, the leaves won't have browned at all by then. Usually not until some point in october or maybe november. In early september at the start of the school year here, it's still often quite warm... but maybe some late summer hints of chill in the air at times.
Now we hate white people for breathing an ignore reality. Often being completely consumed by hate. An narcissist are a dime a dozen with no idea of the way they are acting. Bullying degrading. We really learned to play and get along with each other

This just made me realize that the society presented in Arthur has a much stronger sense of community than our own and I'm afraid it has left me irreparably damaged

What if I told you that you’re a part of society and choose whether or not to participate in a community. 1st step is taking accountability.
@@Primatenate88 it's kinda wild that you can just start talkin' to people and bein' nice sometimes, like some kinda... community
@@Primatenate88 Where I live everyone stays at home and trusts no one. I get no choice
@@doughboywhineyou always have a choice. Like he said, accountability. I promise there are people in your community who have stronger bonds in it than you do, and there is nothing stopping you from being more like them.
I know that because I used to feel that way and now I see people I know and am on good terms with all the time. People who love me and are invested in me. I know their families, and I know what is going on in their lives. Church is a good spot to start finding community and it’s good for a lot more than just that is what I found.
It's one thing that listening to it makes me feel good, but another that you look so very happy making it.😊
you’re too kind!! i appreciate you
@echoisaband seriously, this would have been INCREDIBLE even just with sound and no visuals. But seeing your passion and dedication to making this an honest to god send-up like this, seeing you having so fun making something that tugs so hard at the heartstrings of anyone who grew up watching Arthur, it really brings a triumphant, hopeful, inspiring aspect to a great rendition that might not have carried the same sweetness and optimism if we weren't seeing you having the time of your life creating it. Thanks so much for this. I mentioned in a different comment that i only really listen to gangsta rap and hardcore (as in hxc punk/powerviolencence/speedcore/sludge/grind; not that awful cookiecutter rave crap they call hardcore nowadays), but I'm waiting on baited breath to see what you come up with next. You really encapsulated that soft warm melancholic sound. Even the harmonies on the background vocals are super emo.🥲 Super nostalgic for me.
Strangely enough, it gave me the exact same nostalgic feel for an entirely different genre.
These progressions sounded way too familiar to me, and I've never listened to Midwest Emo. Specifically the artist Home. Then it hit me, the only reason I even learned about Home was because of emo Simpsonwave videos with their more crushing tracks like Decay from the Odyssey album. Nothing more Midwest emo than living in Springfield, I suppose.
God DAMN this brought me nostalgia of watching Arthur on PBS while my dad was at work. He had a little battery powered TV he would bring with him on jobs if I had to go with him because we couldn't afford a babysitter. Great times
As a kid whose dad got rid of cable and only had PBS to watch, Arthur was one of the homies that held me down.
Unironically put this on Spotify. Such intense nostalgia

Feels bittersweet to remember a time before cell phones, just watching Arthur after school while eating some microwave popcorn. You play beautifully and captured such a good vibe. 🥹
Speaking of remembering old times, when are we getting the bardcore version of the theme, Hilda?
VON BLINGIN!
Woah you described the vibe of this so well!
You guys were too young to have cell phones, most likely. But when Arthur came out, my little siblings watched this show. Myself and my older sister had cell phones, though.
Never know who you'll bump into in these comment sections.
Midwest Emo sounds like how it feels when you walk home from school on a gray autumn day, leaves lining the sidewalks, you feel a drop of rain or two as you cross the threshold into your home. The living room is carpeted, with wooden paneling, and warm yellow lamps replacing the typical ceiling fixtures. This living room is straight from the 60s, just like your parents, who will come home soon and destroy the solitude, instigating some kind of familial discourse instead.
That wasn't even my own memory I just described my friend's childhood home lmfao
You sure you didn't describe mine? There was so much discourse, we weren't even allowed to enter the house through said wood paneling living room from the 60s (or in my case, the rest of the house was like that, and the living room was a remodeled garage). Instead, everyone except my dad had to enter through the back door, into this weird tiny connecting room between the kitchen and dining rooms (the dining room which became used like a second living room, because the actual living room was being used as my dad's bedroom after he got permanently kicked out of sharing a bed with my mom)
Just a big ol spaghetti of "maybe I don't want to come home from school today - sure I'll stay late to help pick up after band practice, and maybe then we can hang out at your place?"
I understood Midwest emo when I moved to east Minnesota from Central California during summer and saw winter. Every house looked liked the American football house including mine lol
The small-town version of the the teen girl who just got off watching Foamy the Squirrel on newgrounds while signing a "Bring Back Invader Zim" petition wearing a Jack Skellington hoodie and Happy Tree Friends tube socks purchased from Hot Topic during an Emily the Strange buy one get one 50% off sale where she discovered Serenity Rose from Slave Labor Graphics Comics while her overbearing but loving father restricts her from going to the My Chemical Romance/Limp Bizkit concert with a 5-years-older-than-her boyfriend that constantly IMs unsourced stolen Pon and Zi comic art over a 56k modem America Online trial discs on myspace with a Top 8 consisting of Tim Burton, Jack Sparrow, Eminem, Jesus Christ, and whatever angsty band is the hit new thing on Disney Adventures magazine and spends all day filling out "What Kingdom Hearts Character are You?" quizzes only to complain she didn't get Riku and is unable to watch the 2003 MTV Music Awards because her deadbeat older brother is always hogging the living room TV playing Tony Hawk's Underground on his Halo edition transparent green Xbox using a third-party Mad Catz Air Flo controller with a busted analog stick constantly leaning to the right making anti-Semitic remarks about how Eric stole his wicked McTwist over the helicopter in Hawaii footage.

I'm an actual midwestern emo and I approve this message. The intro feels iconic and the riff makes me wish I'd had a father to show me Arthur, this is an absolute masterpiece.
@@bluemeikoit’s very apparent your only exposure to Emo is through the internet and you’ve never gone to DIY / punk shows which is where real Midwest Emo exists. The pure vibe of the song is intoxicating in the best possible way. It's great and I like it.
Hiraethe, look it up. Cool term for Nostalgia for something you’ve never known.
@@iansinoz56 that's not what hiraeth actually means. it's a term specific to cymru/wales, meaning a sense of wistfulness or longing for the homeland and its people. not "something you've never known"

@@echoisaband oh my gosh #lifegoals.
The specific episode you opened with hit me hard, as I was the annoying little sister to my older brother, and there were a couple of times he got physical - never in a truly bad way, but enough that I identified completely with D.W. there. This clip triggered a memory for me I wasn't ready for, a bit bittersweet remembering the real life struggle, but the comfort of finding a mirror of my experience on TV that helped me to understand everything and be more sympathetic for my brother (and be a little less obnoxious lol).
ALSO, since the whole point of the video is a Midwest Emo (lol) version of the theme song and not a trauma dump, I absolutely love this song.
