You win the award for the best HIFI April Fools show!
I appreciate that. Trying to keep the trend going.
Congrats on finding an appropriate joke that actually has relevance to your channel. It's something that definitely changes the sound reaching your ears. I love the sincerity you present it with.
It was tough to keep a straight face at times.
Simply brilliant!!
Thanks :-)
Oscar award worthy!
With the crap Hollywood puts out? Probably.
As a regular viewer of your channel, I already knew the gag before I even clicked. But you played it so straight that I couldn't help but chuckle throughout. Well played Chris!
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for sticking with the channel.
Good one! You sure got me!
Excellent.
Yeeeeesssss!!!! A must buy!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Clearly.
I knew the punch line when I read the title! Love it!
Glad you dig it.
love that you can have some fun amidst the usual reviews. Thanks for a fun video and a good laugh. Also, want to thank you again for giving me some personal direction in my hifi journey. Ok, on a completely different subject, do you trim your own beard, if you go somewhere, where do you go? I don't live very far from you and need to find myself a good barber for my beard. Thanks for what you do and your time. Keep up the great work.
I'm glad you liked the video. I couldn't bring myself to pay someone to trim my beard. It just seems foreign to me.
Nice hat trick. I usually go for the ballcap but when I have company over, I prefer something a little more stylus.
Well played.
@@thevinylattack Geez... 🙄
My stetson really improves the detail in the highs
I've been thinking of getting one for ages.
Brilliant lol so dead pan!
Thanks. It was tough at times.
I bet lol
Chris, it's nice to see you moving a-head in your testing protocol while not getting wigged-out over it.
I think you may just burn in hell for that one.
I have found the safari style pith helmet to be the best overall hifi head gear. It gently grabs the sound and amplifies it slightly and also simulates a sort surround sound effect. You should give it a try.
If I'm ever on safari, I certainly will.
The early 80s painters caps with the rear mud flaps will give the widest sound stage.
I can see that being a thing.
Briliant topic. We should match the style of a hat to the music. Excelent delivery of very serious subject, all audiophiliacs should pay attention
They absolutely should pay attention.
Kidding aside, wearing a hat does change the sound of a system, but my family already think that I'm crazy by sitting between the loudspeakers when listening to music, wearing a hat would result in a call to mental hospital.
Only one way to find out...
👍 love it......revolutionary video. Now I can see where I was going wrong. Now only if my dogs would stop chewing up my hats.
Gotta get a hat rack.
🤣This explains so much about why fedoras are popular in the jazz crowd, flat caps in the garage community, and baseball caps for those just buying for investment/resale. 😂
It's all coming together...
I prefer my propeller beanie cap for a superior Atmos effect. :)
Too inconsistent for me.
@@thevinylattack Haha! :)
I might check this out, could start by trying to match hat style to music genre.
Just occurred to me that a hat rack, with enough hats, could be effective as room treatment.
Sounds like a solid foundation.
I'm going to invest in a surround sound sombrero and a vintage Phase 4 fedora. ;)
I'm thinking about that myself.
@@thevinylattack He beat me to it.. was going to say: can't wait for the review of the Sombrero.
Other great AF I've seen are the ones from @DarkoAudio and from @skylabsaudio
worth checking out if you haven't already.
On a serious note, it's definitely a noticeable Improvement when I remove my glasses.
Im a bit let down for the lack of a straw hat, full brim and perhaps a banjo for effect. Nice.
I'm sure you'll get it sorted.
My Disney theme park Mickey Mouse ears cap drastically improved the AM/FM and TV reception in my home. ;)
That doesn't surprise me. That company is DEFINITELY watching your every move.
Happy April Fools' Day, Chris. :)
When I wear my Lions Hat, it just sounds bad. The songs just don’t follow thru with each play. Going to try my Tigers hat to see if that better.
Yeah, the stripes should be a big help. ;)
You might as well just get a U of M hat and be done with it. It's the only good football around here.
Great now I won’t be able to afford to buy a hat now
I expect a spike in headwear prices after this video.
Nice fedora...is it anti-static?
My head is naturally anti-static.
My girlfriend's 50x Beaver produces a warm and somewhat spacious sound, while my own gimp mask restricts the soundstage
You're going to let him talk about his girlfriend's Beaver like that...!?? 😲
Gimp mask... 😃😃😂😂
My Russian-style ushanka winter hat greatly improved my music-listening experience when listening to Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Shostakovich, the 'Dr. Zhivago' soundtrack by Maurice Jarre, and the song 'Rasputin' by Boney M. for some reason. ;)
I feel like it would roll off the top end.
High larious
Exactly two days ago I had what I thought was an original thought, of making ear enhancers that you wear. Really.
I hate to break it to you, but they've been around for years.
Subscribing because the beard told me to.
Welcome aboard!
I find a Bra far more effective. Though doesn't look as cool as a cap.
Would recommend, the bigger the ears, the bigger the cup.
Cup not Cap...
.
Before a very serious listening session, I always take off my pants...
Doesn't everyone?
@@thevinylattack 😲
Bwahahah🎉😂
I have a short-brimmed Fedora!!! As a result of watching this video I now have a reason to wear it 365 days a year. I'd like to add that also wearing a pair of sunnies whilst donning the fedora during my music listening time, not only improved the sonic enjoyment of my experience but also provided me with an existential feeling of being cool. Although being indoors in a dimly lit room wearing a hat and sunglasses whilst listening to music some might say makes me one huge d***head, but I can live with that 🤣.
There's no stopping you now.
100👍
No 🧢
Im disappointed Chris. Everyone in audiophiledom knows tweed hats are bright. You need a wool'fer mix.
Hillarious man😂nice vid👍🏻
Well, I bought these hats before I knew the sonic advantages they might possess.
this whole april 1 thing is making me avoid YT today, lol.
And yet here you are commenting ;-)
Hifi hats belong to the same category with the hifi power cables
Yeah, that's the joke. :)
April 1st aside, don't give these damn "audiophile" companies ideas.
True story.
