We do PJs in the younger years because we have a more relaxed approach and they love learning. As they get older though I see the need to get dressed and have those cues that this is learning time and we need to be attentive.

We have been homeschooling for 4 going on 5 years and I agree with the whole PJ thing, for the last 4 years we have done homeschool in pjs and it has been a struggle to get my kiddos to be productive so we are switching it up this summer and working in building habits that will make us more productive like getting dressed for the day.
I used to say there is no behind in homeschool but through experience with one of my kids I can see where the struggles are and while I don’t tell her that she is behind I am working on pouring into those areas where she is weaker or struggling.
I am realizing that homeschooling is a constant journey that’s always going to be changing so I am working on embracing that.

Oh boy, I spent the first 36 years of my life getting dressed the moment I woke up, between daycare, school, and FT jobs. I am THRILLED to be able to spend the first half of my day in pjs, and give that blessing to my kids. 😁 But I respect your opinion!
I also completely agree about sometimes my kiddos being behind because I wasn’t diligent, or didn’t seek out other resources to help my child. Great job pointing out the truth, even when it can be hard to say and hear. 👍

We are a PJ family! I get dressed before I leave my room in the morning, but if my kids want to get started before changing, I am not about to stop their work flow! 😅

I totally agree with the PJs thing! Since I was homeschooled as well my mom instilled in us a readiness aspect to the day....

Yes! I totally agree on the cheaper is not always better. There have been a couple of our favorite curriculums that were so worth the investment, even though I was initially nervous to fork out the money for it! ❤

No pajamas during school hours! My son does the same as your son, as soon as class is over!

I’m with you on the pj thing! 👏🏻 It also makes it more fun when you say, “Today’s pajama day!” like public school kids get to do.

This was so valuable. I forget to try using those apps like speechify or grammarly. Maybe they’ll work for our neurodivergent kid. Thanks for sharing! Love all your videos!

I do school in PJs but my daughter can't haha I like to clean in my dirty PJs instead of clean clothes then I put on clean clothes and I clean a lot during her independent school time haha.

I have a To Do list for my kids for everyday. I have on there - If raining - pjs, No rain - get dressed. I tell them suns out, we are out. Otherwise, I'm good with pjs, because I hate going out in bad weather. 😂

Yeah, no PJs. It is an overall life thing with me. Not just school. I typically don't even leave my bedroom before I'm dressed. I just think people in general, myself included, are more productive NOT in pjs. Now that isn't to say I have on like jeans, or really any pants with a button/zipper 😆 but yeah I make all the kids actually put clothes on for the day.

Kiddo almost always gets dressed for the day. I don't however. I have chronic pain so my "pajamas" are my home clothes it hurts to wear real clothes around the house. Yes, our kids can be behind. It's our job to figure out how to get them back on track or seek outside help.

I get the PJs thing. We do a lot of school in PJS but that’s because my child does better early in the morning. Having said that though, he’s only 5.5 but I do see myself not doing the pj thing in the future 😂

This was helpful. Would love a video on which tools you use to support the dyslexia and how you use them. I’m just starting to try Speechify with my dyslexic/autistic daughter.

@@LifeintheMundane thank you so much for this! I’ve been liking Speechify too, even though it’s pricy, but I love being able to play music in the background and change the color of the text and the voices are great.

We are the longest homeschooling family in our community as most ppl I work with where travelling while their wifes stayed at home with their kids and they love their kids travelling with them!!! I don’t care if my kids are in their PJs!!! I have kids who are at a slower pace in certain subjects and I don’t care as I know I can get them there!!! I get them there and give them tools at the same time!!! I’ve noticed that prince and the curriculums don’t always line up I’m quality so I research curriculum!!!
