I live in the area but never shop here, since its the most expensive game store in Toronto. Decent for trades but not for buying, so many more better choices for your retro fix in this great city.
Father in training right here. SO happy about the recent news, John, and I truly wish you and your wife the best of luck with this new journey in your lives. Being a 20-year old dude myself, I only hope to be fortunate enough to some day have kids of my own. I'll finish college for now, though! Thanks for another sweet tour! Seems like a really nice group of guys with some excellent ideas to expand their store. Awesome stuff as always!
Those guys are LEGENDARY on you tube via their videos and the EPIC Daniel T playthroughts :D Their store is a dream comes true for the old school gamer that grew up with Atari ST, Commodore Amiga, Sega Master System and Shinobi in the arcades that I am. Gone are the days I was buying in actual "physical" stores like this one, Mainly cause stores like those don't exist anymore here in Europe. So it's all about E-Bay for getting my Neo Geo Pocket Color, SMS, NES and Genesis stuff.
Thanks for letting me know this store existed, I can see myself being in the Toronto area in the next two years, so I'll definitely be buying quite a lot if the opportunity presents itself.
Gotta say, very interesting store, but I also love the format of this video. With that mic and the exclusion of extra lighting grout in its reminds me of something from back before the Internet was big for these kind of things.
Awesome place!! We definitely need more retro stores like that every where. 'Eliminate Down'... rare....wow. It's really interesting that they went from a convenient store to a gaming store.
Dude the Seattle area has more retro gaming stores per capita than any other place I've ever been too. I'm not exaggerating either. What part of Washington do you live in?
These guys normally have a booth set up at the Toronto video game tournaments (i.e. T13) and while I admittedly haven't been to the actual store, the guys running the A & C booths are pretty straight up and decent guys. Anybody in the Toronto area should definitely check them out.
Best overall game store of all time was Mr. Gameways Ark on Yonge Street in Toronto during the 1980's... It had a replica to exact detail of the command deck of the USS Enterprise on the top floor. Amazing toy/game/video game store
Where is this place? Might be a place I'll check out when I have time. I often go to x2 game store at kennedy and steeles. Lots of import games and possibly the only place to buy japanese and hong kong psn store cards
The first time I have heard of the method of taking the high price and low price and then selling for somewhere in the middle.. My hat is off to these guys! Awesome Shop! Great vid Gamester
Gotta say I like these guys. I brought my PC game collection to them and I expected a big hassle and a waste of a trip, but even though they didn't know much about my classic PC game collection, mutual trust was shown and I was given a fair dollar. Yes I could have made more on Ebay, but this was quick and easy. Also the owner was very friendly.
I shop here often and honestly they are great guys, some of their prices can be a little high but honestly they have great deals on ps2 games(as far as retail goes) their gamecube games are reasonably priced too. They don't like to haggle really and their prices are kind of set but I still like to pop in to A and C every once in a while.
Seems like a cool store, this independant game store shut down awhile ago by me and it was a sad day actually. I do buy most things online but I miss going to cool game stores like this. Gamestop is so sterile feeling now.
Im actually going to Toronto next Monday, I may actually check these guys out, I love these old games for NES and SNES. It's also because of you that I started collecting =)
wish I new you be in Toronto would like to meet the people I view on youtube... if i can (Know the person when the camera is off). I hope you enjoyed the Cold winter weather. A&C \Games such a great place for retro games.
Very good interview, I liked the laid back and friendly vibe it had. Next time, add some quiet chiptune or video game music in the background. It would add a lot to the video, especially during the panning shots of the store itself!
Hey gamester81 do you live in Arizona I just wanted to know because I really need a good recommendation for boxed snes, nes, 3do and other retro games.
Awesome video, loved seeing the full Mother 2. Earthbound is far and above my favorite game of all time :) I'm tattooed with some of the game's art and look forward to purchasing my own complete copy of the game!
This place looks really sweet. There is a store SOMEWHAT like this near where I live but here is my biggest gripe. THEY DON'T HAVE THEIR GAMES PRICED! They are one of those people who just look up stuff on Amazon/eBay.
These types of stores aren't too uncommon in the US. I live in a rural mountain town in colorado and we have a store like this. Also many in neighboring big cities, with excellent selection. And yeah they all seem to have Earthbound at exorbitant prices.
There's only one retro game shop near me in the UK and it closed down a few month ago, I would love a place like this near me instead of buying unreliably online.
Does anyone know if they have a colecovision with lots of games and controller for sale? Also what kind of retro PC games they have if they have any of those?
Just returned from there for the first time. Some of their stuff is reasonably priced and some other stuff is WAYY too expensive. Their consoles first and foremost are way too much. I checked some prices on eBay and I had to pay maybe $5 more and that was worth getting it then and there. Store is SUPER small and it's tough when a bunch of people are there. Their trade credit seems to be pretty good. An old guy came in and traded some things (FF VIII is all I remember) and he got $160 for it all.
You nailed it. Collecting was fun 3-5 years ago when you could actually find stuff at flea markets, thrift stores etc for good prices. Guys like this blow prices through the roof. Personally Im just gonna lay low for a few years till the fad dies down and start buying again. In the meantime I'll take the scraps that slip through the cracks.
I used to think the same thing as you, then I found out that we actually have 3 shops like this one. (Just a tip of advice, if you're looking for cheap games at a low price check out pawn shops and flee markets, I got MJ Moonwalker for $5)
Ah yes A & C games. I've been there a couple times. Prices are fairly high but there's a good chance they'll have what you're looking for if eBay is not your thing.
I live within 5 minutes walking distance from this gaming store. I've gone there quite a bit but must admit i've never purchased anything from them. Their pricing is ridiculous and in most cases higher than ebay costs. The one thing they have going for them is selection, it's fun to go and have a look around. Pricing is what kills it though.
We try to be priced reasonably and we give good trade in value. We don't just sell games but we try to provide a good shopping experience and bring the local the gaming community with A & C World. We've been around for over 10 years and we'll continue to try our best to grow retro gaming, thank you for the feedback though.
I live in Toronto, it's a nice store but it's so expensive

Hey thanks man...I enjoyed myself in your country and had to bring back a case of chocolate Smarties across the boarder when I got back. :)

Awesome stuff as always!
I was lucky enough to visit this place last year....incredibly friendly staff and some great stuff there.
I certainly didn't get that impression at all from these guys. They're down to earth and it's their business and what they do for a living.
they look cool to hang around with and talk to....awsome store
This store looks really cool. We need stores like this in the Lansing, Michigan area. There are a couple but not as extensive as this
Those guys are LEGENDARY on you tube via their videos and the EPIC Daniel T playthroughts :D

Thanks, they're totally nice guys.
With retro games becoming more and more popular, I hope stores like this start to open more often!
Nice store. It's good seeing a place that has uncommon systems and games you normally don't see in a run of the mill video game store.
Dude the Seattle area has more retro gaming stores per capita than any other place I've ever been too. I'm not exaggerating either. What part of Washington do you live in?

Thanks John for visiting!
I see all these great game stores just like this on youtube. So frustrating that there is nothing like it in Chicago. I wish we had a store like this.
Good advice; thanks!
Love that store. Hard to go in without spending a lot of money; they have a lot of good stuff.
Best overall game store of all time was Mr. Gameways Ark on Yonge Street in Toronto during the 1980's... It had a replica to exact detail of the command deck of the USS Enterprise on the top floor. Amazing toy/game/video game store
great looking store john . lots of stuff you just dont see everyday
love these full stashed shops. Deinitely has something rare you're looking for.
Awesome stuff. Wish there was a place like that around here.
I love A&C they keep the fighting game community alive in Toronto. And they have some great stuff. I love going there.
Wow very cool store, wish I had one like this near where I live
Where is this place? Might be a place I'll check out when I have time. I often go to x2 game store at kennedy and steeles. Lots of import games and possibly the only place to buy japanese and hong kong psn store cards

Way cool seeing some MSX titles in a store in the US. Looks like a great store thanks for the tour.

This store looks awesome! I'm going here for sure when I visit Toronto for Con Bravo...
Will you be there John?
I just looked at their prices online...crazy expensive for some pretty common NES titles. I didn't bother looking at other items.
I was there when the AVGN was there. Store is awesome and one of the best game stores in Toronto.
That store looks incredible!
That deck of Nintendo cards looks really cool, gonna have to go look those up.
1:29 Carlton Banks xD I want one!

Looks like a good store! If I'm ever in Canada I'd check it out. But I'll keep an eye on their website.
The store looks amazing, holy crap!!!!!!!
The store of my dreams!!!
We don't have stores like that in Puerto Rico. :(
wow! i wish i had something like that near me, thats the biggest collection ive ever seen
Seems like a cool store, this independant game store shut down awhile ago by me and it was a sad day actually. I do buy most things online but I miss going to cool game stores like this. Gamestop is so sterile feeling now.
so many games in box its crazy! awesome store!
Cool you were in Toronto!!
Loved this store, amazing!
Why don't we get stores like this in London ? Awesome store, would be in there every week (or day if i had the chance)
Looking good guys!
Yeah those are rare. Nintendo started out making playing cards long before they made video games.
VERY Impressive. you guy thinking about expanding into the US?
Get that online store up and running! Very cool store!!
Very cool guys, interesting to see such a cool outlet too :)
Im actually going to Toronto next Monday, I may actually check these guys out, I love these old games for NES and SNES. It's also because of you that I started collecting =)

I would go to this place if it sells mortal kombat 4 and mortal kombat trilogy for ps1. I've been looking for those games forever.
Eso es asi...lastima que ya no viva en PR ! cuando vaya por alla me dare la vuelta
Finally a good game store near me. May go soon :)

could spend hours and hours in there !! Nothink like that over here in the UK ! Cheers John :-)
Does anyone know if they have a colecovision with lots of games and controller for sale? Also what kind of retro PC games they have if they have any of those?

6:27 best part of the video.... awesome Mike Tyson impression
Ah yes A & C games. I've been there a couple times. Prices are fairly high but there's a good chance they'll have what you're looking for if eBay is not your thing.
I want live in this store.
worldwide? going to be on my list to watch out for then :D
Nice video, looks like a great store

Toyratt is in Canada, Gamester should go there.
It is in *Miltion, Ontario.*
I only watched about 5 minutes but these guys seem reasonable enough to me. What makes you mistrust them?
I bought Link to the Past there for 90 bucks. And that was with trading in 3 NES games as well.
wow this place is 5 mins from my grandmas, might have to check it out
Man we didn't see the whole shop :) . Great interview btw :)
Fuckin solid gameing store. righteous prop's John! Thanks for the tour!

it's never been cheap so I don't know where you got that joke from but these guys have decent prices from personal experience.
nice store !
What did you pick up there, John?
9:10 "Can I show you a holy grail for the Super Nintendo?" I knew immediately that it was going to be a complete Earthbound...
The store seems like a collector's room than a video game store.
Then I heard that there was a downstairs... wh-what?
Toronto is in Canada actually...
Great video. very good.
Viva La Gamester 81 !
