This has been a difficult Christmas season for me. My father passed away in August, leaving me as the last surviving member of my family. And financial hardship due to the pandemic have placed me in a position where I may be forced to sell the property (where I currently live) that has been in my family since the late 1940s. Facing this all alone at this time of year has been the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I actually spent all day listening to all of the Pentatonix Christmas albums trying to find inspiration. If I learned anything today it's that you don't listen to a Pentatonix Christmas song expecting a traditional arrangement! Very few of them are. You mentioning your sadness of Avi no longer being in the group, you should listen to his three solo EPs at some point. Completely different from PTX. Not only does he show his full vocal range in every song, but he also plays acoustic guitar (all the albums are acoustic) and wrote or co-wrote almost all of the songs himself. I find his songs have touched me in a very personal way. I've found a kindred spirit in Avi Kaplan!

I grew up in the church. I’ve heard this carol thousands of times. Played it hundreds on the piano. And I NEVER ONCE thought ‘you know, this would be fun with a reggae beat’. But then - I’m not a musical genius like these guys.

This one was number 1 for a long, long time for favorite PTX Christmas Songs. However, “Kiss from a Rose” and now the new version of “Oh Holy Night” have bumped them out.

I drove into Chicago - about a 2 hour drive (I live in a far suburb) for a Christmas show a couple years ago.
I already have and I would again! I saw them in my hometown and then a few nights later I drove to see them in Kansas City, MO but I have yet to see them in a Christmas show.

Who’d have thunk it? Oh Come All Ye Faithful is a Calypso melody? 😂 They are amazing, they never lose sight of the original carol but they make it acceptable to everyone! Brilliant!
@lesleywilbourne7823 - Not actually Calypso, but Nigerian. But if you think about where the Caribbean settlers came from, you would see that Calypso has African rhythms. And Kevin's family IS Nigerian.

Many Caribbean people (out of many, one people is the motto) are descendants of African slaves.
