  • I get a lot of questions about issues with PC builds, problems that people have and more. I thought it might be fun to discuss a few of them and give you some ideas on how to fix them and what to do to make your system run better.
    These are obviously just some of the questions I've had, there are a lot more. If you've got some burning questions, drop them in the comments and I'll see what I can do in future.

      @@TheProvokedPrawnI forgot to mention that I left out the Lian Li 's because that looked like it would significantly complicate the whole procedure. Maybe for the next build, or an upgrade! It's got me interested anyway.😄 This one of your videos is particularly useful for this: ruclips.net/video/aXB_4fvcPG8/видео.html. I will look at more specfic Lian Li videos you made later too; - I think the AL's are the newer ones, and I'm hoping the standard cabling is long enough too without needing to get extensions!

    Hey Mr Prawn, had no end of probs with my 14900k crashing in games, not only did I get the error that you mentioned in prev vids I also had a worse issue in my mind where sometimes the whole system froze and shut down under heavy load. I resolved this by following previous vid of yours and updating the Asus Dark Hero Z790 bios direct from bios on asus website (1302), I just enabled the xmp and left all the other settings with Intel default profile left well alone. Since then no crashes at all so thank you for the vids

    Very informative video (as always)! I do have one question. I have watched a video of you about half a year ago about lian li fans, which got me into the whole lian li universe. Next week I am about to build my very first lian li setup. I will be using an Lian Li Galahad II Trinity 360mm AIO with 6x single reverse blade (in groups of 3) sl-inf120 and 1x single sl-inf120. Obviously you get a controller from the aio but with the aio included, i will have 5 groups, and the controller, as you know, only has room for 4. So my question is, is there a way for me to sync the rgb? Do I have to get another controller and if so, nowadays atleast in my country you can only get your hands on the newer version of the controller. I already thank you for time to read this chunk of text.

    • @TheProvokedPrawn
      @TheProvokedPrawn  3 месяца назад +1

      I did do a video on the 240mm of the Trinity ruclips.net/video/bhPJbLNk1tw/видео.html I think I abandoned the AIO controller and used the standard one with a triple pack, but with single fans you should be able to use the AIO controller and then perhaps for the one lonely fan you can use the sync port on the controller for the RGB and then a system fan header for fan speed. I've got a SL Inf wiring guide that might help.

      @@TheProvokedPrawn i would try to connect the 3 fans on my aio with the connection on the aio itself (Y port) using the cable that combines the argb and pwm from the fans to one cable, which then should be easy to connect to the aio port. Do you know if this could work and do I still have to plug the AIO onto the motherboard using the USB Header, altough the ARGB and PWM cable from it are connected to the controller?

    IMO After getting back into the gaming and PC world of things they have changed greatly and not for the better. I like full and then mid cases and understand not everyone has the room for them or like them. Nevertheless if people think they are going to stuff these small cases with a massive amount of PC / Elect. components and not have heating issues isn't reasonable IMO. First and for most at best you can only get a PC to run at room temp. from what I have seen please correct me if that's wrong. Now people want a flickering light show instead of a stable system, I really don't understand this at all. All these small lights generate a small amount of heat and adding more means more heat, howbeit not a lot but added with the rest of the system it will. Great video enjoy your work. Yes, I am old school but things worked and worked good for the most part. In the past it wasn't how many lights I had it was how good the system ran and performed.

      @arlissyoung8899 3 месяца назад

      @@TheProvokedPrawn I haven't tried the Noctua fans. Don't get me wrong as far as the RGB a little goes a long way for me. After talking to a few people many feel it's gone way overboard and seems to the most important thing in the PC gaming world. I tend to stick to one brand just for compatibility and simplistic reasons. Thank You for the video and the reply.

    Can you place the gpu on the side upright With fans behind it set to intake? Also can you place the gpu on the side upright facing away from the glass panel so that the intake fans are feeding the gpu fans directly. Like how it would be set up in the bottom traditionally?

    I think there's an old saying somewhere that out in the universe, we all have a double? Your voice is Meoni's twin heh.
    As for the video....
    What's your thoughts on AMD's 7900 series where they 'build it' to run hot? I know some people have mentioned undervolting it so that the CPU stays down in the 30-50c range, but when i tried that, the CPU would reboot itself when it tried to 'run' any programs like video games as the undervolting i tried apparently caused issues when the CPU tried to 'ramp up' under load. So i took out the undervolting and now the 7950x sits around 40c while idel and nothing open, and sits between 60-70c under normal gameplay and tops out at 80c at 'peak' under full on load (it doesnt 'sit' at 80c, but i'll ramp up-to 80c then drop right back down again)

    • @TheProvokedPrawn
      @TheProvokedPrawn  3 месяца назад +1

      I've also been compared to Mr Bean, Henry Cavil and more tho 😂 as for AMD, those chips do seem to run hotter as standard from what I've seen. Under volting helps but I'm not as experienced with AMD sadly

    The Corsair 5000D is just strange. Populating the front and side with fans has no effect on the GPU so with a 3090 it is a hot box and with a 4090 it is relatively cool. My 5000D build has 10 fans with half of them being just for show.
    I an not a fan of these bios updates for Intel because they are too reactionary without thorough testing behind them. Like with overclocking it is best to do it yourself.
    My i7 14700kf build is the only CPU that I had stability issues with since it crashed in R23 after the 8 minute mark but never crashed in games. I found that it could run stable with PL 1 & 2 at 375. The motherboard had it using close to 400 watts. To have the same performance as "stock" in games I have set PL1 & 2 to 300. The difference at 1080p is usually 1 to 2 frames.

      Good question. I might have to do that in future videos but it's not "bad" as such. Just not optimal. I've done it before but also the fans will likely have different top speeds and airflow capabilities. But still it's good because they'll still be pushing and pulling more air than one set of fans.

    • @TerminalzPain
      @TerminalzPain 3 месяца назад +2

      I would just try and match their RPM's as best you can, the Lian Li I think can go a fair bit higher than the P12's, don't think it will effect performance much, but with them running at different speeds it may effect the noise they produce. You may also want to test with and without Pull fans, I find the increase in performance to mostly not be worth it, especially if it's a standard thinkness radiator, personally I would only use push/pull on some of the thicker ones.

    • @HanmaHeiro

    1:16 If I were limited to so few fans like this, I would move the front intake fan down a bit just so that it's pushing fresh air directly at the GPU intake fans. That should improve things, if only marginally. Less critically, I might try using both fans as intake and perhaps also move the back one to the front - the AIO fans have exhaust handled.

    • @TheProvokedPrawn
      @TheProvokedPrawn  3 месяца назад

      Solid plan. I was just curious as to the performance of the pre installed fans as they came and where they were originally positioned
