I have been in Israel a few times and was baptized in the Jordan River. What was amazing to me too was when I went to Jordan we were on the Jordan side of the river.

The Greek word is baptizo, which means to immerse OR pour. So this is wrong Plus the early church fathers wrote about baptism by pouring water over peoples heads. So the early church knew very well that pouring is a valid form of baptism
I argue both immersion and sprinkling/pouring are effective as long as your heart is in the right place. The idea of baptism is that it is a Symbol of Christ washing away our sins and becoming new creations in him. It is a proclamation of our faith in the Lord. The water itself does nothing without the soul being committed to God. Both ways can provide that love and commitment to the Lord. With that said, I prefer immersion since IMO it does a better job visually of our sins being washed away, watching the old me sink into the water, and the new creation of the Lord arising out of the water, reborn in Christ.

It doesn’t matter if you’re baptized in the River Jordan where Jesus was baptized. What matters is that you’re baptized in God’s name. Question we must ask ourselves is What is the name of the Father? What is the name of the Son? What is the name of the Holy Ghost? There are maps up to late 1800s with Bethabara right there on Qumrans spot. Also the hill country and the wilderness of Judea on those same maps. The Greek word is baptizo, which means to immerse OR pour. So this is wrong
Plus the early church fathers wrote about baptism by pouring water over peoples heads. So the early church knew very well that pouring is a valid form of baptism
I argue both immersion and sprinkling/pouring are effective as long as your heart is in the right place. The idea of baptism is that it is a Symbol of Christ washing away our sins and becoming new creations in him. It is a proclamation of our faith in the Lord. The water itself does nothing without the soul being committed to God. Both ways can provide that love and commitment to the Lord. With that said, I prefer immersion since IMO it does a better job visually of our sins being washed away, watching the old me sink into the water, and the new creation of the Lord arising out of the water, reborn in Christ.

There are maps up to late 1800s with Bethabara right there on Qumrans spot. Also the hill country and the wilderness of Judea on those same maps. There is a TILE map found ON JORDANS SIDE showing a single house on the NORTHWEST SIDE.
Bethabara in Hebrew means "the house at the crossing".
