@@maverickreefer3255 No I use an Algae Turf scrubber. From research some say since I was using KZ Flatworm stop it could have increased the Iodine. Many others using Flatworm stop have reported the high Iodine.
Just wow!! Awesome tank. Tank crashes are literally the worst, so disheartening, looking at it now you would never be able to tell there was ever a problem, true skill
Man..sorry to hear. Totally sucks to lose that many acros..ouch. But wow...your reef’s looking absolutely killer still brother. Here’s to a much better new year ahead!
As far as I know , a juvenile vlamingi tang would wipe out a tank full of bubble algae . I personally experienced this myself . Nearly gave up if not for this fish .
I have this tank. Mine doesn’t look anything like this. Can I ask what lights you are running? I have 2 T5 strips and 3 ai prime lights. Tank is beautiful!! My goal.
Thank you so much! I haven't done a par video. I have my readings and happy to share with you. Send me a message on Instagram @CC_Reefkpr or on R2R: Scubabum and I can send you a screenshot of my Par values. Thanks again!
Holy moly... that's tough. I'm frightened to start an all SPS tank due how fast they crash from any fluctuations. Love the torch on the right by the way!
Back to back to back water changes and Brightwell Erase CL. I think I just went WAY too fast. Panicked and should have spread out the water changes over a few weeks vs days.
Looks awesome! That fight with aefw sounds horrible, but to have that growth despite them is incredible! On a side note why do I feel like everyone's videos are clearer than mine? 😭🦉🍻
Thanks! The AEFW really do suck. You start to see the acro losing color then see the bite marks and layers of eggs. Seems like a never ending battle with acros that have encrusted to the rock.
Such a beautiful tank. Sorry to hear about the tank crash, but looks like everything is back on track! For your RSR525XL, flow wise, are you only using 2 MP40s? What % and mode are you running them at?
Thanks Kennan. I'm running the 2 MP40's that switch from Reefcrest to Expanding pulse a couple of times per day at 50% and in the back left and right corners I have 2 Sicce SDC XStreams on 100% Impulse mode.
Oh my God your tank looks amazing what ever you are doing do not stop excellent job May God bless you happy New Year’s and I pray you and your family stay safe
I had it in 3 different parts of the tank. Small clippings off the tips of all acros survived except the WD. The cuttings continued to strip in my frag tank.
Thank you. I'm using Ectoech Radion XR30 G4 pros and Giesmann Actinic blue T5 bulbs. In this video I'm just running all the blue, uv and violet channels on the Radions.
How much iodine were you dosing?
4 drops of Lugols weekly. It seemed to be the perfect dose for many months. Verified by a few ICP test. Not sure what happened.
@@Reefkpr1 that’s strange, Do you have or did you use to have a refugium?
@@maverickreefer3255 No I use an Algae Turf scrubber. From research some say since I was using KZ Flatworm stop it could have increased the Iodine. Many others using Flatworm stop have reported the high Iodine.
Hi I dose iodine too but half what is recommended for my tank size, did you do the same or exactly as instructed?
Honestly it looks almost like you never missed a beat
Thanks Arrick. It was looking rough for a couple of months but it could have been way worse.
Just wow!! Awesome tank. Tank crashes are literally the worst, so disheartening, looking at it now you would never be able to tell there was ever a problem, true skill
Your tank is unbelievable. I wish I had the money to make mine as nice. Great job
Reef looks fantastic- keep up the good work!!
Glad to see everything turned out ok for ya 😎👍🏻
Wow. Srill looks amazing 👏

Great information. Thanks for sharing.
By the way....the tank looks great !!!!
Awesome as usual 👍 Happy New Year Phil!
Thanks Dwight. Happy new year to you too.
Amazing tank!
Do you still use ATS to control nutrients? If yes do you tun it 24/7 ? Thanks!
Yes, I'm still running the Santa Monica Rain 2. I run it for 18 hours.
Tank looks great! Don’t sweat it. Best wishes for a better 2021!
Thanks ATF. Happy New year!

Phil knows what hes doing. You recovered really well. Actually looks better in some ways.
Stay Reefing!
Thanks Mel. As you know, crashes can be heartbreaking but you can always bounce back. Thanks for watching!
@@Reefkpr1 what setting do you have your mp40's?
your tank once again looks spectacular, it has bounced back really well. For your flow is it just the 2 mp40's you have in there?
Thank you! I have the 2 MP40's and 2 Sicce SDC Xstreams in the back left and right corners.
@@Reefkpr1 thanks for your reply, keep up the stunning work with your tank

Hey Phil. Im trying to emulate your tank, as this is factually the best mixed reef on RUclips. I dont think ive seen a par video. Is there one?

@@Reefkpr1 Wow that was a fast response. I just did that and came back here to scrutinize your reef then saw you answered. Lol. Kudos
That has to be the most amazing home reef tank I’ve ever seen
Thank you. Really appreciate the nice compliment.
Glad that thing recovered man. Tank looks full and healthy. Happy New Year! 🎆

Glad its back Phil. What did you do to reduce the iodine>?
Back to back to back water changes and Brightwell Erase CL. I think I just went WAY too fast. Panicked and should have spread out the water changes over a few weeks vs days.
what intensity do you run the radions at?
49%
Amazing tank!
Thanks Ballejo. Appreciate you watching!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Lynn!
Tank looks awesome, nice job caring for it while it recovered. Heartbreaking to see the skeletons, but at lease you have all the corals. 👍

Thanks Carlos. Happy New Year. I'm excited for the new build. Tons of work to do before it goes up.
Looking good bud, glad it bounced back and excited for the new build!!!!
Thanks! I'm excited too but have tons of work to do before getting started. I'll be cycling the rock for months hoping to get a nice good head start.
Happy New Year to you and your family Phil tank looking awesome again
Happy New Year! Thank you, Had a rough few months but really happy to see things almost back to normal.
Interesting to hear the Walt Disney acropora was affected the most.
I had it in 3 different parts of the tank. Small clippings off the tips of all acros survived except the WD. The cuttings continued to strip in my frag tank.
I knew this tank would come back stronger than ever!
Thank Ryan. Couple of rough months but happy to see things coming back.
