The way Magnus makes his 'way of playing' chess seem like it is normal for GMs to play that way is astounding. He just keeps coming up with weirder ways to annihilate his opponents. Unmatched endgame tactics, lovely to see.
Did Magnus just show us mere mortals the IMPOSSIBLE LESSON: the superiority of the two knights over the two bishops in a semiopen position where the bishops are usually the better pieces.
Epic Chess is becoming my favourite recap channel. I just wait for all those metaphors, anectdotes and colorful language to kick in. Agadmador has his own shtick but this is next level recapping
Magnus is so confident in his end game that he has no problem getting there on his terms. He initiates the exchange of all the major and minor pieces! Brilliant!
I don’t play chess but enjoy your channel and commentary. One thing I have noticed is that you nearly always say the best move “is”. You are basically quoting the move most players would play and Magnus doesn’t play that move and usually wins. He defies convention which is why he is so enjoyable to watch.
I watch Agadmator every day because there are some things I really like-well spoken, very strong name annunciations, routines, interesting knowledge, and he doesn't push his opinions (like with Hans), and he plays chess like someone who isn't an expert. I like him and his channel Some things I don't really like-he goes too far on tangents which are confusing, he never replies to any comments (that I've seen), he never mentions channel that may be competitive to his, he doesn't show videos he didn't make. You seem like a corrective action. I like that you mention others and their videos. You even show others videos. I like how tangents are in a different visual setting. I haven't watched you long enough but wouldn't mind watching you play a little. I like your videos and am rooting for you. I do have one thing that perhaps someone could think of. I think the openings of chess can be better organized-almost as an outline. Fifty years ago I learned all the planets by "man very early made jars stand up naturally, period". I learned that every good boy does fine. I learned many lists like this. I think chess opening could be organized and learned better with little tricks. It would take a lot of effort but I would love a video of it. I lack a good enough knowledge to do it myself, or I would. I haven't played chess in decades. I've never played on line. In high school I won every tournament and played against other schools and beat them. I haven't played since but watch videos almost every day for the past2 or 3 years.
Wesley just outplayed I just wonder what goes through Magnus’s mind as the game is being played he must be the best at getting passed pawns going definitely one of his strengths passed pawns and end game Thanks for the Game the pics are mad cool I enjoy how you add those things in to spruce up your dialogue Cheers James
You saved my marriage. The word play here is so damn saucy I started using this format on my wife and it's working. I just started elongating every vowel and it's working like a charm. ;)
@@epicchess2021 glad it made you laugh. You do an excellent job and 99% of my comments are always meant to make someone smile. Life's short. Keep up the great work 💪.
We do not have the king of chocolate bars, Aero, in the US. The chocolate here is terrible. Whenever I go to Canada or the UK I bring back candy bars for the kids. Sadly, many do not make it.
when it comes to magnus I say he is so good because he does not know what everry Russian schoolboy knows, this is a great example we all know that two bishops are better, than two knight, he does not, we all know that a bishop is better than a knight in an endgame he does not. Thanks James.
At 2:31 you said "Like a Mark Wahlberg Sniper". Could we instead say "like an asian woman ready to poke out your eye with a chopstick"? After all there are no weapons involved in chess so what you said doesn't make sense.
Everytime i watch a chess commentator theyre always 🤯 by what people play, even with engines at their aid. Im bevomming a bobby fischer about professional chess. Kinda bs when i think that this person (albeit someone of a good rating) is doing chess commentary, a 500 fide player could make the same quality videos since they both use engines.
Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion
Thanks! Gotta pin this one

He is no longer losing time with memorizing openings and following walked down trails.
Instead he is all in for a deeper ingame understanding.
It's astonishing. Pace Tim Krabbe, it's like he found a way to skydive without a parachute.
Alireza rockin the space crocs
3:35 Thank you for literally making me laugh out loud nearly every recap. Bravo, sir
haha glad you enjoyed
Great recap, funny quips and pics. Thanks for another, cheers

If you're not at 100k subscribers by July 1, 2024, I'd be surprised. I (almost) always enjoy your reviews.
Thanks a lot! Funny you say that as that is basically 3 year anniversary of channel so that'd be nice! Cheers for watching
I really like your commentating style. Great watch. Great channel. You will blow up for sure. Cheers.
Thanks a lot!

End-game grind from the end-game goat.
Aero bars.... "The process of manufacturer was patented in 1935 by Roundtree's in York,England"
Insane game by Carlsen. Head-spinning!
I'm a mere mortal and a chess prodigy

Yez! Magnus is the GOAT. And you are doing the best analysis! Love it!
Daenerys went mad in the end though. 😮

Magnus' baby dragon
Wait, I'm a somewhat noob but why never f3?
Oh it’s a bit of a joke but f3 and f6 often weaken the king so that’s the general idea but of course at times it a great move!

Great game. thanks. Needs more Gary bashing imo. YOLO etc.
10:56 So inspirational 🤣
At 4:17, why not bishop h6, and then queen g7?
thanks james
10:00 if white pushes c7 black has a forced win
reminded of a Jonathan Speelman game.Forgot which.
Oh cool I don’t know that one
I don’t know where they come from, but yes in the states we have some bars with the fancy aero/foam/science cocktail stuff going on.
Thank you for your awesome videos.
Thanks glad you’re enjoying!

Great video
Magnus is real goat❤ 🐐
In the states we say everything's from china
x1.5 speed you're welcome :p
Magnus and Kikaru effect - no invites! Did he cheat?! nope. Stupid chess nerds that bully the most talented US player.
