Hi Tommy and Dad. Thanks to you both, once again, braving the cold this time. Many years ago, i was videoing steam trains in north China in winter. One day, the temperature was minus 28C! I was well-prepared - i looked like the Michelin man. Incidentally, the maximum today, here in my town, is forecast for 33C. Dad, you seem to have overcome your wind noise problem. Even when the slipstream was shaking nearby leaves, your audio was clean and clear. I'm pleased, for your sake. (If this partly duplicates another post, my apologies). B 🇦🇺
Thank you 😊 Minus 28 seems unthinkably cold, I can't imagine what that's like. Minus 4 has broken Tommy and me. We're both fighting mild illness in a race to be fit enough to see the steam train that's coming tomorrow. We've got Mammy as a back up plan if neither of us are fit to go but Tommy would be devastated to miss it 🤞🏼
🔷18 November this year, as colder winds and snow headed South over the UK that whole night with temperatures reaching negative numbers. 🔶Schools may have closed or started late, traffic congestions were expected and bus and train services were either delayed or cancelled the next day. 🔷But what is important, is our safety, courage and well-being even in challenging conditions. 🔶So be prepared, be safe, and nurture your abilities and determination.
It's certainly been a cold week, but some of the skies have been beautiful. It'll take more than sub-zero temperatures to stop Tommy from trainspotting 😊 Thanks for watching and commenting as always ☺️
And "be safe, be seen" - I am ancient enough to remember when that campaign started long before the days of trackworkers wearing orange or schoolkids having reflective clothing. Trainspotters should also to be visible.
Gluttons for punishment for your interest. I remember it well from all those decades ago and most of us were still in short trousers even in the early years of secondary school. We have even had some smatterings of snow down south here in Essex - middle of November, very unusual! Tell that lad wearing just the school uniform that there is nothing wrong with wearing a coat. In fact, it would be a very good idea as he will not be doing much spotting if he gets pneumonia.
Yeah we're both feeling under the weather now so need to continue to make sure we're appropriately dressed when we go spotting. Fingers crossed we recover for the steam train that's due tomorrow 🤞🏼
Honestly I tell ya, Glasgow is like an iceblock. Went out today with 3 layers on and still freezing, knee high socks and thick trousers, a thermal Vest/top and hoodie and jacket, hat, earmuffs to keep the ears warm :)), and still freezing, honesty god lol

It is very cold outside! Brave lad!
He's tough like his Mam. Not like his soft Daddy 😂
@@Tommys_Trains Haha!
You guys are amazing I love this kid
Thank you so much 😊
You two guys are brilliant.
Thank you 😊
Brave lad to be out in this weather 🥶 Well done Tommy
He's well equipped with a thick coat, hat, gloves and a love of trains that won't let the weather get in the way 😊
great video! anywhere planned for the weekend?
We really wanted to see the steam train but all three of us have fallen ill so we're all resting this weekend

Yeah it's incredible how cold it is. The wind chill hurt my face taking Tommy to school this morning 🥶
Very cold out there tommy did u get snow? And good video! 👍
Thank you 😊
We got a tiny amount. Not enough for sledging but enough to make a snowball and throw it at Daddy 🤣
Nice video gonna get colder sadly
Yeah, although it'll take something really bad to stop Tommy wanting to go spotting 😊
Brrrr, make sure to wrap up warm Tommy. It’s gonna be a brutal winter!
Yeah it started pretty brutally. Hopefully, it's not too bad although Tommy is desperate for some proper snow 🌨️
@@Tommys_Trains Well this Storm Bert will be Tommy’s best friend 😂
@ABTrainsYT 😂
Cross Country to Plymouth 👍
👍🏼
All that waving your hands must warm you up a little bit Tommy, it's 32C in Australia where I live I'm trying to find a cool place and YOU ARE COOL
Thank you 😊
Tommy looks so defeated at the lack of waves or tones 😥
Yeah he tries to hide his disappointment but he's like his Dad and doesn't have a very good poker face 🤣
That driver was good who beeped only ine
Yeah it's getting dark and hard for them to see us 😢
@ yes sadly
Hi
Hi 😊
I think you need some HiViz gloves so the drivers can see you better.
That's an idea. I'll have a think of that. We want the drivers to see us but don't want to distract them from their job 🙂
