The password for the Administrator account on the preloaded OS should be "Administrator". This account isn't locked down at all and you basically get full Windows 7 features when logged into that one. These do also have UEFI support - normally they support booting in either UEFI or legacy mode, but if you turn the "Legacy Support" option off (this is in the secure boot section - the one with the big red warning - for some reason) then they will do UEFI only. Network booting is legacy-only if legacy is on, or UEFI-only if it is off.
Thin clients are meant for connecting to a server using things like Microsoft Remote Desktop, Citrix etc. The heavy lifting is done on the server. Most Thin Clients do not come with Windows. Usually a customised Linux distro with all the remote connection clients already installed. They are normally configured as Read Only. Any changes will be held in RAM, not written to disk. On reboot or log out. All changes are dumped. Which is handy for hot desking senarios. Compared to a normal PC. They uses a lot less power, have a smaller footprint and are easier to manage a fleet of them. There are also Zero Clients. They boot from the network and have no internal storage at all.
I can’t say specifics as I don’t have the meter to gauge those metrics, but what I can say is if it can fully operate on a 65w power adaptor, then it’s not any worse than a conventional laptop that would also use a 65w adaptor.
OMG .. put the camera down!! OR give it to the other guy we can hear in the background! It states that it is running Win7 Embedded client. Can this be changed? We are looking at AWS Workspaces that need Windows Performace Bundle... Is this upgrade possible on this device? Thx
Yes, the OS can be changed. You will need a bigger SSD however. Windows Performace Bundle is supported on Win 8>. Be warned that these machines are not powerhouse machines. They run on the pre Zen generation architecture for a T630. You will want a HP x40 series and up for Zen. Most Thin Clients can be orderd with serveral customised Linux distro options. or Windows. These old Think Clients are dirt cheap. Buy one for testing. If it almost can do the job for you. You may be better off getting an Elitedesk 800 G4 Mini or higher, if you require more performance.
This model only has M.2 slots and an internal USB 3.0 connector. So the only physical storage worth installing in this is an M.2 SATA SSD. It "supports" NVMe in the BIOS setup, but I tried a standard form factor NVMe SSD in it and it didn't recognize it, either the BIOS requires a certain model, or the only NVMe drives usable are the short-length kind, I can't confirm since I don't have one, but that would be my assumption.
i just bought one of these for school work because my old acer laptop is giving up on me. i havent started it up yet because i dont currently have a monitor but out of curiosity, do you think it could run minecraft smoothly? i honestly know nothing about computers to tell lmao
@@R1BNC ended up buying a decent gaming pc instead. honestly if you wanna run games smoothly, best to just spend a bit of money on a better pc for it !

VERY GOOD FOR 45 BUCKS. i just bought hp t510 for same price, with WINDOWS 11, oh my god , ill be posting how it move it and probably why the seller get rid of it, hahahah!!!
The second msata connector is for a wifi/Bluetooth card and cannot be used for storage. There is good documentation on the HP website, I can only recommend people don't rely on this poorly researched and presented video.

I try to get here first cause I feel like everything Is a contest but it's not we love your content keep up the good workkkk!!!!!
Hey I own one of these. The GPU is rated around 600mhz but when I run it it's stuck at 200mhz for 3d workloads. Do you have any clue about this?

Damn it has quite some good specs for a Thin Client but otherwise it's very interesting to see a video on it in the future ;)
I have mine running 16GB DDR4-2400MHz RAM, and two 1TB M.2 SATA drives. WIndows 10 or Batocera. Retro gaming powerhouse.

HP Thin Client: Turn your monitor into a crappy all-in-one.
Especially if you had the rear VESA mount for a monitor, then that's certainly true.
