I have a tapping noise on the left side when the bike gets quite hot say after a long stint off road. Once it cools down it stops. Could it be the same issue? I take it you have to drain all the oil out before taking the cover off? Any step by step guide for this? If not I'll learn as I go and tear into it. It's quite frustrating. Great video love the get to the point straight away thanks 👍
okay so i stripped the sump plate , water pump clutch and crankcase cover i then un did the locking tab checked for damage on the gearing or end of crank surfaces then re torqued at 120 nm after apply loctite (this is 20 nm over the correct torque) then i folded both tabs on the tab washer over the apex of the nut making it like a triangle to trap the corners to prevent any movement what so ever
oh and i drove it with a 38mm 6 sided socket which was 1 or 2 sizes to big but i got away with it as it was a flat sided socket and did no damage to the nut whatsoever
dr350's have the same problem, suzuki in their wisdom diddent even have a tab washer there the relied on loctite only which dosent last forever, however they did put a small metal tab screwed to inside of clutch case so if nut came off too far it wouldent wear through it, i owned a dr350 for 12 years and had to redo the nut twice, so owners with a dr, its not a death rattle, but deal with when it happens all the same.
Hi, was the knocking noise also evident from the other (L/H) side of the engine too? I have a similar noise on a 250 but noise seems louder on left hand side.... Thanks, good video!
I think i got the same problem with my daelim daystar 125. where can I hear your noise. mine has got worse now sounds like tin cans ratling behinde a wedding car.
anybody got noise clip so I can hear it? My noise starts at cold start, in 2 degrees C, 4 seconds after start, and fades after 20 seconds... hell know what it is
i heard the same noise when i change the oil. you hear that noise until oil warm up a little.what type of oil you use? at next oil change use synthetic oil and use thinner oil beacuse you use your bike in cold weather

yep sounded as-if it was coming from the bottom of the barrel like the big ends had gone
How do you pull the water pump out after removing the case ? just pull it hard ?
Undo bolts and it just pulls out
