Ghibli Park will open on November 1st, 2022, in Aichi Prefecture, a place with vibrant nature, a rich manufacturing tradition, and a history that features many warlords.
Studio Ghibli has portrayed the attractions of Aichi Prefecture, where Ghibli Park will be located, in this tourism promotional video.
This work features themes and motifs such as the wind, flight, the joy of running, and the nostalgia of history that permeate countless Ghibli works.
At the center of this video are scenes captured by drone photography that bring this work set in Aichi Prefecture to life, overseen by a team consisting of director Ryutaro Nakagawa, video director Ussiy, and composer Taisei Iwasaki.
The title letterings are produced by Toshio Suzuki, and the prints used in the film are crafted by printmaker Keisuke Miyazaki.
[Story]
This work recounts the story of a girl who finds a print of a feather in a bag left behind by a traveler in the woods as a powerful wind suddenly picks up in the corner of her eye. As the girl chases down this wind, she runs through various spots in Aichi Prefecture and eventually finds the feather in the home of Satsuki and Mei…
This is the story of a girl’s breathless adventure as she runs with the wind that is carrying the feather.

The people who complain that the Ghibli park will not be an amusement park like Universal or Disney did not understand the philosophy of the studio at all. Miyazaki's drawings glorify nature and love, enjoying their contemplation and being grateful for the fact of being able to enjoy it, just that.

Seeing Mei and Satsuki's house near the end almost made me cry. Ghibli is all about getting closer to nature and feeling the weight of it's awesomeness in one's soul. Truly a magical experience indeed!!!

I was already planning a trip to Japan in early 2023, and realising this will be open just made me cry with happiness. Studio Ghibli films mean so much to me and the Ghibli Museum is one of my bucket list Items. Cannot wait to add this to the itinerary
you should postpone til late 2023 tho so all parts of the park will be open (including witch valley!)

Currently tourists aren't allowed into the country, so just know that dates might have to be flexible.

Just to clarify for people who might be confused about it being caled a theme park: theme parks are not the same in Japan, they are literally "themed parks". They do not typically have rides like they do in the rest of the world :)

Living in a traditional house in the Hiroshima prefecture at the countryside feels mostly like it ;) I speak from experience. I stayed for one month in one of these houses...
I dont doubt the park having no rides, because I usually believe that they're just trying to make us think that we're in the anime universe.
Each attraction I believe is just an interactive exhibition walk (much like Sleeping Beauty Castle, or the Totoro house itself)
But what am I concerned of is this movie theater I kind of found in one concept art. Is it made for the museum's short films, or just to reshow the old movies from 1984-2013.
I will doubt a little when they didn't use anything from Ponyo, Spirited Away, and Porco Rosso.

While this is beautifully made, I'm a bit confused. Are they really NOT going to have any rides or shows at all? All this time I assumed it was a "Studio Ghibli Amusement Park" to rival Disneyland/Universal. But it's starting to sound like it's just a literal PARK with a few Studio Ghibli Themed buildings/areas and shops.
It is a park. No character greeting nor even music. But it will be the place where you feel that you are in the world of Ghibli. Capacity will be limited and the price will be so cheap when compared to the other competitors.

Yes. It will be different from the usual image of the theme parks. There will be some hand craft activities planned and there will be some shops where you can buy bread at "Guchokipanya Bakery" from Kiki’s Delivery Service.

Now all that has to happen is for the Japanese government to allow foreigners a tourist entry into Japan again and we can visit the Ghibli Park.
If any of you are coming to Japan, forget about this and go to Universal. Looks like Ghibli park will be just a bunch of glorified buildings.

This is exactly what I'm worried about. I Don't know what this "Ghibli Park" is supposed to be. I thought originally that is was a rival for Tokyo Disneyland Resort or Universal Japan, but it looks like it's just a literal park with some themed building and a few food options and shops.

@@ThatFreikugel Yes, people, including myself, were wishing for a full theme park. I saw a movie theater in an official piece of concept art, but I guess this park will only be a trendy place where people will go to take instagram pictures. greetings
