For those not understanding, this is a footwork workout. Watch the original ATG Movement Zero workout video here: ruclips.net/video/lhnro69Waxw/видео.html Mason has adapted it for ice hockey where the emphasis is on heel pressure rather than forefoot pressure for dry land sports.
What other hockey specific ATG movements have you experimented with? Looking for atypical examples. Cheers, I often will flow into that first position however never thought about adding steps while in that stance - good idea.
@@LothyLoopy It's more movement specific, there's nothing sport specific when every athlete does the same drills. Don't worry about "more" when mastering these basic foundations takes you further than doing more.
@@hockeyhacks2.0 Yeah but the shin/hip angles you're promoting in this video are hockey specific, no? Not many other athletes would bias towards aptyical stances such as this in (the extent to which you are emphazising KOT and hip internal/external rotation etc). I guess what I'm asking is have you come across any other exercises you recomend - example would be a KOT curtsy lunge with a slider where you open up into the deepest range, giving you sport-specific transfer of length and strength within crossovers on the ice in theory
@@LothyLoopy It still shows up in other sports. The only real difference is the heel pressure with wearing skates. Either way, training your movement improves your hockey ability

Why we Need to do that and how often do we need to do that?
