I love how this carries the energy and urgency of the original, without losing the desperation and threat. It's often made a little too upbeat.
This really gives JENOVA a feel that it's something from another world. Awesome work.

Excellent arrangement! One thing I hope for the FFVII Remake is that they don’t rely on a live orchestra for all the music. For many tracks, the synth/electronic sound adds to the cyberpunk atmosphere.

If you listen to the original soundtrack, you might notice that the Game Over track is next after the first Jenova track. Amazing timing, as Jenova is really the first boss you have to wonder, "hey, are we going to pull this off?" It's only fitting that the first really hard boss of the game gets an amazing track that brings to the life the real urgency of the situation. I especially love the interlude at 1:05, that feeling of, "we can make it, if we can just hold on for a little longer."

Not really, just because you found Jenova hard. Lots of people really struggle on earlier fights, like Demon Wall and others find Jenova easy.

I love the mix of orchestra with synth stuff! It adds both cybernetic sound and the rush of an actual boss battle, and it's the first song in the soundtrack that made it feel like I was actually fighting for my life.
You just read through my mind.
This theme is so gorgeous, but it gives me chills expecially when I hear it during Hojo's fight.
The techno and synth sound makes some of this music epic, I also hope they dont rely entirely on live orchestra sound for the remake.

This is one of my favorite tracks, and I feel like it works really well on the Hojo fight, it gives you the thought “so it was all because of you” and makes you hate Hojo even more than you already did (or at least I did) making the fight that much more epic.

O.O Dear God!!! This one I felt deep down in my soul and damn I feel like I wouldn't want to encounter Jenova/Seph. Intimidating and mysterious with a hint of fear for your life if you knew the truth all at the same time! This is AMAZING!! Another one of my favorite FF7 songs and DAMN!!! Enrico tell Mat he did an exceptional job with this! The both of you are very talented!

i just keep getting chill when i imagine how j-e-n-o-v-a will look in the remake all the detail she will have like open wounds (with blood of course) slime or mucus oozing everywhere and just a small hard to hear squishing sound when she moves.

Oh god!!! I forgot a out Jenovas music!!!!! I beat this the first time I played it. I was level 99 for all my characters.that was 20 years ago...omg, Im so old.
I absolutely love this version. That thumping bass line really puts me in mind of a pounding heartbeat, and that small interlude when the theme repeats really adds impact (sorry, don't know correct terminology).

Imagine a game about Jenovas creation. 100% she would have been a good normal girl but was manipulated because she had odd "quirks" and before the scientists knew it, it was too late. You could write a book about this without needing the FF name. Pure tragedy morphs into almost Eldrich horror.

The Sephiroth you see during Disc 1 in the OG FF7 isn’t the Real Sephiroth
Think back, to earlier in the game, when we see President Shinra dead at his desk with a sword in his back. Remember leading up to it, there was a long blood trail, with the origin point being headless Jenova’s containment cell.
If you had looked at the containment cell back then, Cloud makes an observation that it had been broken open from the inside. Without this detail, you’d assume Sephiroth broke her out, carried her body and killed Shinra on the way out (to be fair, I did too.)
But something you’ll learn about Jenova, her cells are able to manipulate whatever body they are host to, both in control and in body form.
Recall every time you meet Sephiroth, he leaves behind a piece of Jenova to a Boss Fight.
After all this, if you haven’t guessed, what is actually going on with Sephiroth in Disc 1, is that it isn’t actually Sephiroth, but Jenova masquerading as Sephiroth.
Everytime you encounter Sephiroth it’s actually Jenova, and she literally flings a piece of herself at you as a Boss Fight to escape.
The real Sephiroth is as you saw, is the shirtless one in the chosen land whom Cloud gets mind controlled to give up the Black Materia to.
So if you watched AC and got confused how Kadaj transformed into Sephiroth, this is why (he absorbed Jenova’s unaccounted for missing the head.)
Everytime we see Sephiroth in the OG Game, its not actually him. It's either a hallucination or it is a piece of Jenova.
The only time it's the "real" Sephiroth is during flashback scenes (like Nibelheim) or at the very end of the Game.
It's not exactly fair to say that what we experience of Sephiroth from FF7 is how he really was because it's actually Jenova.
Sephiroth had been at the Northern Crater since Cloud plopped him into the Lifestream during the Nibelheim Incident.
His body was effectively screwed up, but his will clung on and he managed to hatch his scheme nonetheless, eventually manipulating his connection with Jenova via the Jenova cells in his body. Since Jenova was a shapeshifter, and her corpse was never 100% dead on a cellular level, Sephiroth was able to reshape the image of his mother's body into a copy of himself.
Hence Jenova broke out of the containment tank and killed President Shinra, the Midgar Zolom, and so on.
Everytime we encounter 'Sephiroth' during our chase we are really seeing Sephiroth working through Jenova. This is why we fight a form of Jenova whenever we encounter 'Sephiroth', and also why a piece of Jenova's corpse is left behind each time.
With that, the body of Jenova, but the will of Sephiroth killed Aerith.
Jenova killed Aerith. Jenova was using the guise of Sephiroth.
Sephiroth isn’t awakened until you reach the North Cave. Jenova needed Sephiroth to use the Black Materia to summon Meteor, but she got it to him.
She was responsible for everything else.

That said, the sole line attributed to Jenova herself is said by the entity during this same scene ("Because‚ you are a puppet", addressed to the mind-muddled Cloud), and the extent to which Sephiroth manipulated Jenova, or vice versa, is heavily debated amongst some fans. To some, Sephiroth has never really been free of Jenova's influence in the OG, even when he appears to be using his connection to his own advantage. I sometimes am in that camp myself, and I think one of the fascinating things about this game is that it can be open to interpretation.
I just realized, how do you people envision Jenova's voice in FF7 Remake? I always thought it would sound like a series of wailing, distorted chorus of disembodied voices speaking in unison, as if you are talking to many people at once.

Personally, I'd like to see someone do a medley about Sephiroth's rise and fall, giving Sephiroth's various themes the same kind of treatment that Dancing Mad was given, starting with "Those Chosen By The Planet", then seamlessly transitioning to "J-E-N-O-V-A", then transitioning to "Birth of a God", then transitioning to "One Winged Angel", then finally, transitioning back to "Those Chosen By The Planet" at the end to symbolize Cloud's ultimate triumph over Sephiroth.
It's good, but I gotta admit that J.E.N.O.V.A Quickening managed to be even better.

This is what I expected in the Remake....
I remember when this played. I was fighting an absolute monster. A truly alien being that exists only to destroy. A heartless being. Some think it’s a person. But we all saw it for the demon it was.
