The first two videos in this series have been great. I'm a total novice starting my first project (Lowell Grand Banks Dory), and I have a much better idea of what to expect. Especially in terms of tools and hull building. Thanks!

I've built Model Railroading craftsman kits of structures and scratchbuilt a few. Also done some paper modeling of ships. As a skill builder some of the card models might be a good skill building strating point. Especially if the builder gets either a digtal edition or scans the pages of a printed kit. That way if the beginner screws up (and he or she will) they can just print new sheets and start again. The main point for a beginner is not to bite off more than you can chew. Skill over reach can lead to frustration. And wood kits are pricey enough that some basic skills need to be mastered early.
One note about paper or card models. There are modelers of larger ships that will use a card model of a vessel as a starting point to scratch build a model of that vessel. Also card models can be scaled up easily at any print shop. Or even at home by judicious cut and paste of scanned or digital copies.

I really enjoyed this video, as I did the dory. (I did finish the dory; very happy with it)! Have been debating about the Pram as have some other Midwest & BlueJacket kits I feel ready for as well. Watching your techniques, esp with the close-ups has been very helpful! Thank you for such great videos!

I love your builds - the display of your skills is invaluable as a reference for when I work on my own wooden ship projects. But may I make a suggestion? I would get rid of the music. Perhaps it's just my preference, but my favorite artists and model builders use ambient sound and no music - ASMR. Thanks and keep up the great work.

You will hear my little ones screaming in the background if I remove the music. 😂 I will certainly try ASMR later when I have a better place to film. Thank you 😊

5:09 The sewing pins didn't really help out since when I tried taking them out, the floor board cleat came out at well. Other than that, the video was helpful when there were gaps ins the instruction manual. The closeups of certain parts were also very useful.

Good to know! Did you remove the sewing pins after the glue dried?

Great video. It’s helping me a lot so I’ll finish mine soon. When is #103 going to be published?

Thank you, John. The 103 is on my calendar but I’m afraid it will be pushed to earlier next year. Busy with other builds now. :P But definitely coming! Enjoy your build!

What is the color blue you used for the outside hull?

I used “winter blue” acrylic paint. It looks great in other colors too. Enjoy your build!

Thank you for this... The instructions are not very good for a beginner kit.
