Al, I’ve read and enjoyed your books. Being born and raised a minnesotan who lives in Washington state now, and I’m your age(71) I relate so much to you. My boyfriend at the time won the wrestling state championship in 1968 from Forest Lake and I know you were a wrestler (Hopkins was very good) and I really enjoy seeing your family on social media. You really lucked out there.
I have a question for Neal Katyal regarding whether or not this 3d indictment trial should be televised: it is my understanding that the victims of crime are allowed to attend the trial; (2) The actions of Trump and his many co-conspirators were designed ti harm our country and Constitution - and our country and our Constituon exist solely for our citizens. So our citizens are the victims of these crimes. As such, shouldn't the trial be televised so all victims can attend? The media will spin what the media will spin, televised or not, but at least give the victims themselves the right to judge for ourselves. After all, it is we, the Citizens of the United States, who will be most affected by this trial.
I believe he did address that...saying there would be 6 American citizens allowed to sit in on the proceedings....I could be wrong but I thought that's what he meant

I watched the Watergate trial as a 19 year old. To watch Ehrlichman, Dean and Mr. Ervin. Heard their answers and watched their demeanor. Very telling. Yes televise it. Our democracy should hide nothing.
When I was in the third grade Senator Ervin came to my class in Morganton NC and taught us how to draw a picture. His grandson was a classmate and friend of mine. He made a great impression on me at the time. Later as a junior high school student I remember watching the hearings and it seemed so surreal that here was the same man who taught my class how to draw a bunny rabbit sitting in a meadow along a winding mountain path now presiding over the dismantling of the most powerful man on earth.
We don't care where Neal is from. He is from planet earth. Like all of us. Sooner we understand that the better life will be for all of us. I love to see & hear from Mr. Katyal. He is respectable, ethical, decent, humble & straight forward. My words don't come close to who this gentleman is. He's definitely one of my favorites to listen to.
He wouldn't have resigned if he wanted to fight the accusations. So it's doubtful he'd run again with that crap in the cards. He's doing well and his family means more to him without the controversy hanging over him.

Read the indictment document, Republican or Democrat or Independent voter. It's an easy read, goes from November to January day by day, week by week. If you want to engage in discussion or debate you will do that far better knowing the evidence, where it came from, the testimonies, who gave those under oath to the jury. Reading the indictment document will also keep you from appearing uninformed.
McConnell said the ex-president was "practically and morally responsible", now that currently indicted defendant is (allegedly) legally responsible too. Mitch could have saved the taxpayers millions of dollars by allowing the impeachment to be "guilty".

As a newcomer to the podcast, it’s a great - and long overdue - pleasure to hear the voice of Mr. Franken. Brilliant comic timing aside, Mr. Franken was an articulate and thoughtful lawmaker, and his presence in the Senate is sorely missed.
I'm very proud of Neal Katyal. His work for the people of this country is a big part of the legal shield raised for us, the American people and we are wise to be very grateful.
For 2-3 months after January 6th, we didn't hear form Trump at all. It was radio-silence. He knew what he did was wrong. He also knew he would eventually pay for it.

That was an impeachment trial in Congress. Nixon resigned bc the Senate was going to convict so that's why it was televised.

Anytime I see Neal on a RUclips post, I listen to the podcast. I respect Neal and the information he imparts more than any other law expert.

If you want to engage in discussion or debate you will do that far better knowing the evidence, where it came from, the testimonies, who gave those under oath to the jury.
Reading the indictment document will also keep you from appearing uninformed.

I think what I want to say is that the importance of being presented to by a person like Neal Katyal is that he knows we are out here wanting to be informed, not impressed.
