Great selection Chris. I have 48/49/50 - I think 49 could exceed 48 - it is a better looking cover and so classic. Time will tell !
Agree heartily. The cover to 49 is mesmerizing, arguably one of Kirby's best and most iconic of the 1960s.
I love 48s cover! Still, I don't see this ever happening. If you look at the current FMV of both books, raw and graded, in both high and low grades, 48's FMV is multiple times that of the value of 49s. I believe in high grade 48 is 5x the price of 49 and in low grade it's about 2.5x the price of 49. If you look at both books over the last 10 years, this trend was pretty consistent (meaning, as both books gain value, 48 remains far, far ahead of 49).
I do think the value gap can close some, but never exceed.
@@JernosComicsPopCulture I dunno, Chris -- I could see the "value gap" narrowing in a few decades. The more important/prevalent slabbing becomes, the more important the front cover art is -- because there's nothing else to see. And -- though I am glad that you like the cover art to 48 -- it always makes me think "hey, Baby New Year took some acid and is wandering around Times Square." Finally, don't forget that FF 49 contains the first appearance of the Punisher. It does!
@@reprintranch I agree that the gap can grow smaller, but I will stand firm in my stance of 49 never surpassing 48. Cover means a lot, but it isn't everything. 48 has both first appearances still, even if Galactus' is a cameo. That's going to matter much more than a first cover appearance. Also, the value of SS's first full app is going to always trump the value of a villains first app, even if that villain is a classic.
Love the Iconic Silver Surfer #4 cover. To expensive for me so I got the Fantasy Masterpiece of it.

I just got a ff 49 cgc 5.0 , amazing spiderman 37 1st Norman Osborn, and justice league 140 and 141 1st manhunters at pensacon at pensacola florida for $400 cash with comic book trade bait 2 months ago and got a avengers 8 1st kang raw for $140 last year at same con!!! Pensacon never disappoints me! I always enjoy watching your RUclips my comic book brother! And as always continue on the hunt!!!

Yep! First SS outside of a Fantastic Four title. I didn't miss it, it just didn't make the cut. But I agree, another solid one that has a lot of room to grow.

OK, I’m back, watched 10-6 now I’m all caught up.
I souly agree Chris to those who think it’s too late to get 48/49/50 it’s not too late!!!!!’ Time is now if u can save up or trade some books as these are still affordable. Af 15 in 2012 was a book I was grabbing at 2500/3000.00 for gd/vg raws and soooo many let that book slip past their fingers. Now it’s over 20k Plus for those grades. FF 48 even at a 3.0 is still relatively cheap at 2000-2500 same with FF 49 mid grade at 1500 and mid grade for a 50 is under 600.00... These books will be extremely expensive when we see the FF come to the movies. You don’t need the light of Christ to hit u in order to believe he’s real same can be said with these books and how much they will he worth when Galactus comes and the Surfer. A FF 48 at a 3.0’will easily be a 5-7k book when he comes. If you think not look what happened to Af 15 to hulk 181 in the last 8yrs.. Nuff said

Thor 169 is a great spec book and still affordable at this point. I have a friend buying up FF 72s all over the place. The ship has sailed on the rest of this list and you have to be rich to afford a decent copy.
