Watched your review and bought the M12 today. I'm a plumber and used it on a burner repair in a boiler today. It lit up the whole burner cavity nicely on medium output. I know I'll be using this thing all the time. Under the kitchen sinks, crawl spaces, etc.
I love the lantern/flood ability! Makes these light so much more useable. I wear glasses, so the lanterns blind me when I'm trying to use them a work light.
I have a ton of milwaukee tools and thought I was up to date on all there m12 and m18 tools.. Not sure how these lights flew under my radar. I have an m18 flashlight but it doesn't cut it when you kill the power and need to work on things as an electrician. Thanks for the review gonna go m18. The more light the better!
Oscar Diaz I dont think you will regret it...its really bright! And that USB port for charging your cell phone is a GREAT feature! (the M18 "power port" by itself is about $40!....this is a power port & an LED light in one!)
Very thorough and well organized. Thanks for providing this. Its interesting that the housing for the electronics in the M12 is much longer than the M18. I wonder why that is. What are your thoughts about these lanterns vs. the Milwaukee M18 Radius light?
First off I love your reviews and how you test stuff not just talk about specs ,this was a Great review it helped me make up my mind on witch one to get ,keep up the great reviews.
my friend has one of the m18 and we used it for 8 hour in an electrical room today running 2 1/2 feeders conduit and I really like the lamp, it light up the hole electrical room to bad I use makita
Djthunder PSN They make all the jackets & hoodies in sizes Small - 3X.....I think in-store at Home Depot they usually only have Med, Large, and XL though....just order one online ;) And I LOVE them!!! I have been using the heated hoodie just about every day for the last couple weeks & today I broke out the black heated jacket (with heated pockets!). I will have a review for them coming up very soon...I've been waiting to get some steady use with them first before I can recommend them to you guys ;)
Great video, been looking for something like this for months, now I will buy at least 3 and go fishing at the pier where there is no lights at all...thanks.
Great review, Sir! I'm sold on that M18 model. Would love to see as in-depth of a review on that Milwaukee Heated Hoodie you're sporting there as well. Have been thinking of picking up two (one for the wife) of them, but i'm a bit gun shy on pulling the trigger at 100 bones apiece. As always, thank you for uploading!
Robert Johnson Thanks Robert! Yeah, the Heated Hoodie review is coming up very soon (and another one with the Heated Jackets).....I have been using them everyday for about the last two weeks already, and I can tell you that they are AWESOME! I am 6'2" & 170lbs....and I got the Large sizes and they fit snug....if you want something looser, go the next size up. For me though, I wanted it a bit form fitting, so the heat wont escape & I can always wear a light jacket over the hoodie for dual layers & heat underneath. Also, the jacket I have even has heated pockets (the hoodie does not).
dmcguinn1 Oh, man! I thought I could get away with the cheaper hoodies, but if the jackets have heated pockets and I skip those for the wife, i'll never hear the end of it. Looking forward to the reviews for them, Sir!
+Real Tool Reviews do you have any tips for keeping spiders out of a shed like that or garage? It looks like you live in a forested area so I would think you have spiders. I am having no end of spider problems this year. Every day when I go out to my garage or shed every surface is covered in spider webs, hanging from the rafters. I have to spend 10 minutes cleaning webs off every time I go out to work on something. I've tried Bug Barrier and it didn't seem to slow them down.
+doitle Yes.....leave the cap off of a 1 gallon can of gasoline & set it in the floor where it wont accidentally fall over or get knocked over......ZERO bugs/rodents will make nests in there (bees, ants, mice, spiders, etc). The fumes will dissipate extremely quickly once you open the door (air it out for 5 min before you go in & NEVER smoke/use flames or electronics inside!!). I always keep a gas can open in mine & have no issues with any pests. Good luck!
Natural bug repellants are like lavender and peppermint oil, look it up for your application, mix with water in a sprayer and apply, or just put the oil all around the shed, it'll repel all sorts of stuff, may not work as well as gas as far as longetivity, but it's safer imo
@@RealToolReviews this the worst advice I have ever heard!!! I thought you were a smart person until I read this comment... are you serious?? open gasoline container in an enclosed space!!! please remove this comment immediately, this is a seriously dangerous (and illegal in most countries) thing to do. plus the health and environmental harm!
***** I am not sure what you mean....I am guessing you mean as it is sitting on the counter or hanging, how does the light look underneath? In the video I hang it in the shed at night, I would say that is the best example I can think of.....usually I set the light back from what I want to illuminate, so I have not thought about directly underneath of it.
Ordered a m12 stubby and got this m12 light as a redemption bonus. It should arrive tomorrow and im really looking forward to trying it out! Do you know if it will still be covered under warranty as it's part of a redemption offer?
Good review, thanks. I’m disappointed though that Milwaukee is still stubbornly sticking to USB-A for some of its tools. I won’t buy it for that reason. I’m sick and tired of carrying multiple cables. I finally got all of my electronic devices to USB-C, and I refuse to go back. Secondly, although the flash function is nice, it’s just a repetitive flash. That’s not a recognized distress signal. So you could have the flash going until the battery dies and nobody might come to your aid.
Emin HVAC Thanks Emin! I am sure with you being in HVAC, you will appreciate that "Trueview" technology....I saw their demonstrations in person while in Milwaukee & I assure you that it is almost the same as having the wires in the sunlight....the colors are right on.
Another great review....We go out to the desert to camp here in So. Kalifornia and the M12 looks like a great light to do so....The M12 being more compact is appealing. I have both systems, so it's a tough choice for me....Thanks!
Titantramp4u Thanks! Yep, the M12 is definitely more compact, and I am sure if you bring a few batteries along with you, light wont be an issue :) The runtimes on low are unreal....and despite how it looked on the video, it is actually brighter in person....I think they did a great job with these!
***** I actually just watched the video because I figured I missed it...ha....nope! Here is the answer ;) -- ruclips.net/video/NyC2mbmA_ks/видео.htmlm33s
As usual another great review.....Since I've already drank the Milwaukee kool aide, I'll be picking up the M12.....will go into my truck and will be great for those desert camping trips...
***** Thanks Louis! I think you will be very happy with the amount & quality of light that these trueview floodlights will put out. The runtimes are unreal....even on high it will light up your campsite for pretty much the whole night.
+GreaseMonkey Supreme Thanks! I use it everyday......dropped it, spilled things on it, left it outside and got rained on.....still going strong. I think these lanterns are awesome.
Just bought the m12 light work in hvac and my broke ass journeyman uses and old plug in light . infact he used all my Milwaukee tools but 2morrow I'm going to tell him to go fly a kite . or I'll smash him

Mike Mags Awesome! I am glad I could help :) Its nice to hear it is working out for you, I use the M12 & M18 lanterns everyday.
Your tool reviews and demonstrations are always better than those of the actual manufacture's. Great job. I really like the USB port on those lights.
Mike L. I really appreciate that Mike! I definitely try and show the "real life" aspect of the tools....I am glad to know people like that :)
You made the best review videos ever! I really miss these videos. Hope all is well

This is exactly what I was looking for a demo video of how well does it work. Great job im getting one.
What a fantastic review. Absolutely one of the most informative I’ve seen. Subscribed.
Is crazy but most of the videos about lights are filmed in a well lighted room, except this one, great job
Your reviews are awesome brother!!

Just got one today! M 18 platform is the way to go. No regrets.
How many lumens are each of them ? Do they make one for working on car/trucks?
I wish milwaukee made that heated jacket in bigger sizes does it keep ya warm enough?

You know, I own the M18 lanturn, and I love it! But I never knew that it had that strobe feature though!! That's crazy!! Thanks for the great video!
Mark Leone Thanks Mark!
Very informative video. I bought one M12 2362. Thanks.
Do you know how well is the lighting is pointing down when the light is mounted on top?

They should….. if not, it would be news to me. Milwaukee used to be very good with warranty issues.
@@RealToolReviewswhy don't you make videos anymore? 😢
Would the m12 be comparable to a Coleman propane lantern or do I need to go with the m18?
M12 is fine.... no need to go with M18 unless they are the same price.
