It's good to mention too, you can strip corpses found in the maze, and they often have food! I've rarely ever had food issues in the labyrinth, so that's one less issue preventing you from fully exploring it.
Lmao i love the idea of this thing taking a pawn and everyone going "hey, that thing took steve! Let's kick its ass!!" and accidentally sending a rescue party by attacking it
When anomaly first dropped and I was doing a somewhat vanilla run and trying to learn it, I ended up getting this. When the first abduction happened, my knee jerk reaction was ‘fuck you’ and attacked it with a few colonists.. All but one dude was brought in. I think he was also sleeping at the time, with only a cat vibing. So he went on doing his normal stuff, while the rest of the colony panicked and slowly figured out how to escape. I think a raid showed up about a minute before the escape as well.. my most hated monolith as a result.
I saw that immediately... Game me a worry since ive yet to play rim world and have been thinking to play it and I know there are mutations in the game so I honestly really didn't want to deal with the signal infecting my colony.
First encounter I sent in a whole platoon of security with weapons, rations, and bedrolls. Left quite a lot of resources in there, but came out with some goodies, all the personnel and some interesting bodies I managed to find some use for.
This one is, for the most part just a nuisance. BUT for an unprepared colony, it is still a significant risk of losing a pawn. Everything within the labyrinth is designed to waste our time. It takes a very long time to pry the doors open, food is scarce, unless you are willing to eat an occasional corpse. There are few dangers inside, but since your pawn is most likely alone in there, it is still dangerous. Even a single fleshbeast can cause a bleedout, and poorly tended wounds may cause an infection. I honestly never lost a pawn to it, but I did not have much luck with significant loot out there either. It is a nuisance anomaly with SOME looting potential, but it is probably best to deal with it fast.
You could probably do that. But transport pods are cheaper and more reliable. After all, you have to exit the labyrinth sooner or later since there are not many ressources in it and building is forbidden.
Spoiler When you find the return portal and activate it, everything in the grey will steadily be teleported back randomly to your home map. Items and monsters.

you can often find patches of dirt too, so theoretically if you find enough of those you can survive in there forever

That's a funny idea
The Orkiest solution really.

I literally did this lol
That looks like a Marker from Dead Space
I think that was intentional.
Oh my god you are right. As if it wasnt already creepy enough!

NO SHIT!
@Bone220 You just have to keep its activity down, though after studying it enough you can actually intentionally provoke a response

i honestly had no idea the etchings did anything i thought they were just for show like a floor drawing, thanks for the advice
I didnt even notice those LOL
Nice dead space reference

A Diabolus hellsphere can oneshot it, destroying it before it can abduct anyone
@@supernova6188 Good point. I never tried it.
It is not that bad.
Just make sure that your researcher has a weapon and is able to do medicine (which they normaly are).

THIS SHORTS ARE AMAZING DUDE. Keep it up!
I just stufy these as long as i can and then my whole clony are tested 😂
Thank you for keeping your shorts concise yet informative. Very impressive given the current state of YT lol
The first Anomaly I've met in the DLC. It was an excellent introduction.
Played with ambient horror did you?
this will be fun for the first time
Mind numb serum helped me get out without my pawn going nuts
A reserve tea ration helps too.
Hmm, did not create bipedal humanoid Mutants with blade arms, nor Spike shooting baby monsters, kind of dissapointed given its shape.
you would think there would be mod for that.

Woah, our usernames are weirdly similar! Anyhow, love the Anomaly shorts, good job on these :)
make it so that it's perfectly habitable so what would I do if I use it as like a worst case base
Quick everyone, we have to hide in the pocket dimension!
You could probably do that.
But transport pods are cheaper and more reliable.

Didnt know about the floor etchings or the statues as the one time i got the warped obelisk i got a basic layout of grey rooms and fleshbeasts
My medieval peasant with a spear.
"Is this one of those were in kakantirs?"
also make Expeditions of Pawns or groups
Reminds me of House of Leaves. Very cool idea for rimworld :')
It's the marker from dead space
I say your going to have a necromorph infestation if you don’t get rid of that thing
You're not a kidnapped victim, you're a scouting party.
This was my fav thing that happened to me in this game
The obelisk look like deadspace marker lol
Ooo the backrooms in Rimworld? Since when?
Can you bring food into it with other pawns?
You can.
Also armor, weapons and more hands.
But usually 2 pawns are enough, more just make it more complicated.
"shamblers" say that again
Why does this remind me of the Marker from Dead Space?
Obelisk my @ss! That's a frikin' Marker!
backrooms
RimRooms
...
Nvm, that sounds wrong.

Okay, fine. I'll get Anomaly.
Backrooms confirmed
I was going to comment something related to dead space but to my surprise, a lot of people already did lmao
Basically the Rimworld equivalent of the Backrooms
If you could escape and loot it on the process
Cool
First time it hapened i was lucku, they abducted one of the ''researcher'' that has a fking persona zeushammer and catafract armor
Can you make a base in the Labyrinth?
No. But you can loot the corpses there and hide until you run out of food.
MAKE US WHOLE AGAIN!
Best obelisk.

It destroy trees ?
grant us love lobcorp
I really want this but no money bought northgard

So just to be safe use a slave farm to research them
hmm dead space
So it’s just like the backrooms?
They added the backrooms
Wow Rimworld devs are so imaginative. It almost compensates for the the 70s graphics
70s graphics was Pong and Asteroid. Give the game a little credit lmao
