That episode was really good. I especially loved the part where his father says "I wonder what he is going to use his spending money for?" With these enchantments, he's turning silver into platinum, value-wise.
So the 1st prince and the 7th son get along.

The manga is the reason why the anime gives a cool design to its magic. The manga is absolutely gorgeous.
Well. He doesn't hide his strength from strangers and he didn't hide his innate enchanting abilities. I like he doesn't try to hide EVERYTHING from the people in his castle.
Bro is such a menace. His passion for magic and crazy personality will always be entertaining to watch
Not just magic, but he's addicted to learning new powerful skills. He saw qi being used & wanted to figure out how to use it. He figured out how enchantments work & literally melted down silver currency just to scribe new enchantments. The kid is obsessed with powerful magic, skills, & techniques.
That Skeleton dude didn't know that accidentally Lloyd had already broken the sky in episode 2. If he knew, he would never challenge Lloberto, ah I mean Llyod.
Note: Something they didn't get into the Anime was the only reason why he was able to do the breathing Technique was he enchanted his lungs to handle the qi energy
and also how grim"s head feels like it about to explode the moment he utter the winrar magic
Lol I felt for those guards when they had to give up their swords but I'm sure they'll sing praises for Lloyd next episode when they see how truly frightening their swords have become with his enchantments. I like that Grim was eager to help because he couldn't stand them talking badly about his master.

there is very good reason why she is obsessed for him and not just any kid or man
There are two points of appeal to this series.
First is in how beautiful the animation is.
Second is how utterly *batshit* the MC is.
Yea and that's what we love about it we love a batshit crazy ass mc who's technically also good
Looks like our boy did multiclass into a monk this episode. It was so good to see that fighting animation and how they used breathing techniques to do qi attacks. And how Lloyd did managed to combine it with his mana to create new powerful attacks. He was so totally psycho when he fought the litch that even the litch was freaked out by it before being killed off.
Then for the second part of the episode I really did love how they did showcase magic. In how it works with enchantments which is quite interesting and make it seem more worked out then your more generic fantasy show. Also it was good to see him fail on some blades before getting better. And seeing how many of the blades that he actually managed to enchant compared to the normal amount. It’s clear that he has multiclassed into being a artificer as well lol
The whole Royal Family just gets more wholesome and likeable as the series goes on.
The way it just breaks down the science behind each magic type in painstaking detail while the action is going, is so good.
If you think about it this kid could upgrade the entire military of the nation as long as they keep him interested with magic
I won’t lie I was actually getting excited along with him and I was laughing alongside him. I love this anime so far.
Boy went psychotic and the animation this episode was amazing. I really did like the pov from within the skull
I was laughing with him man and when homeboy was talking shit then lost his scabbard lmao
The bit about breaking weapons when enchanting them gave me flashbacks to grindy MMOs, but other than the PTSD flare up this was another fun episode of a show that is far better than it seemed it would be at first.
I'm reminded of the conversation a couple of BG characters had about Lloyd, that he's so far down the line, he's not eligible for succession, which, with this episode, looks like a vey good thing.
If I got a present from LLoyd, and still knew what we've seen in these 3 episodes, I'd find a testing range far far away from civilization. I wouldn't be surprised if the swords shot reality-rending beams when you swing them.
Funny you should mention being given the best ore... When developing a golem (which are basically mechs in this universe) in the second-most recent arc, he actually developed like three NEW ALLOYS in order to find the right one for a golem that is able to channel his magical potential.

I think another thing that seems to be overlooked commonly in this episode is how much Tao got to shine, and just like how we like seeing Lloyd looking batshit crazy, I also love the dedicated expressions (even the more goofy-looking ones) that Tao had when fighting the lich. Gave me Shikimori vibes. And proven by the next episode as well, this series doesn't hesitate to let the other characters shine as well. We all know that the focus of the series is on Lloyd, but we can only understand his power level because we also get to see the best of the other characters.
Let's not forget to give props to the Ki girl for risking her life giving her all trying to alllow him to escape as well (even if she didn't know he is way too op).

And we have Yumiella Dolkness back this season as Grim too ! (yeah I know, surprising voice type range)
I love that they use the magi animation for the comedy bits
Man I have to admit, the *contrast* of my impressions of this anime from trailers VS actually watching a few episodes is *quite stark!!*

This show so caught me off guard. Fascinating to me. I also really liked the use of qi, it was done so differently and it was beautifully done in my opinion.
Also, (haven’t read source material) I get a bad feeling about the brother, feel like he’s going to exploit him at some point
The 2nd half of the show was like watching a mad scientist doing their crazy experiments... lol
And when his life as Lloyd is over, his next reincarnation will be as Capt. Kenpachi Zaraki!
The mangas is really pretty especially the spells they are often popping and colored that’s why they look like that in the anime. Also, indeed what of the biggest strengths of this anime is the character writing, they are all so fun and the interaction also are and when it has to get sadder it doesn’t miss either.
I just looked back at the manga and realized the anime gave him blue hair while he had black hair in the manga 😆
Loyd enchanted a barrel of blades understand the kind of power that gives to anyone welding them as a unit. What would he do with good armor?

The thing is that grim says that he is not a human and hie mana is a monster and he couldn't put a finger on it and he is studying a dark magic so to say that the kingdom never filled this Lucky that he is not interested to be a king and be save if he just pick learning about magic and to be mentor magic by a demon

This series play with texture alot. Even barrier magic looks cool in this series. Magic circle that's a cube, can I just called it magic cube!?

The scenes aren't as beautiful as the manga but damn if this isn't as good or better.
I got my blood boiling and I smiled so much this episode.
Also, i realised the ed is pretty good.
Extra note; the point on the 'born in a good family' considering his maturity cannot be overstated.
I went into this anime expecting it to suck ngl. But every episode keeps on getting better and better.
he's actually a adult that devoted himself to magic 100% then got anihilated by a noble that didn't even try proving that the biggest factor to magic abilities is being of noble decent
I'm not much of a fan on that system but that show is great
I dont trust it even in this good family. That world would probably be a safer place without him but it would be so much more boring. I still would pray day and night that there wouldnt be once thought "hmmm I wanna test this... ups it blew half of the world"
I love how Grim was getting mad because Albert's soldiers were basically saying they just gave up a ton of weapons at the prince's order & were expecting almost all of the swords to be destroyed. Grim is starting to have Lloyd's personality rub off on him. Grim wanted Lloyd to enchant the crap out of those swords just to spite Albert's soldiers. Just a couple of mad magical geniuses... Nothing much to see here 😂

Felt bad for Tao because he surpassed her in under a day with her own technique lol. And he's a mage.
But she's so head over heels for him that's she's determined to become even more powerful just to be with him. Obsessive personalities all around.

I thought this episode was really good fun--that the comedic timing was well done and the animation was top tier. I'm looking forward to Lloyd's continuing adventures with the ki expert Tao.
I find it so funny that the sheild hero kingdom is the standard for a bad kingdom 😂
