Hi Chris! I just want to thank you for making this awesome video. We have been dealing with mice shewing on and destroying things in the house including our dishwasher. We used over 50 glue traps but the little guy proved to be super smart and wouldn't step on any of them! Unitl i saw your video and made my own bottle trap using carboard, chopstick, and tape. I used sunflower seeds and chocolate cookie as bait . The little guy got caught today ! Just 4 days after I made the trap. Also glad that it was caught in the live trap instead of the glue. These are far better than the electric ones!!! I hate to see them dying in such terrible way... You Sir are an example for all the people of the world. Thank you very much. Greetings from Costa Rica.
I like the bucket trap best. I had several mice get into my home through the carelessness of workers who drilled a hole in my basement wall for a sump pump hose, and didn't bother to seal around the pipe. The bottle traps could in theory catch more than one mouse assuming those already caught were at the bottom of the bottle when a new visitor tried getting in the trap.
What do you use for bait? I live in suburbia that happens to have the larger variety....this city is overtaken by rats during the summers! But I’m sure a few alterations can make it doable! I really hate the spring traps where sometimes it takes hours.... Thank you for your contribution!! Lauri

adorable little critters. Those little field mice have the biggest black eyes. I used to catch tones of them. My back yard use to be a corn field and they were plentiful. Would always walk them back out to that field and let them go, knowing that the next day I'd get it again or one just like it.

They love peanut butter! I usually take one square of toilet paper. Cut it evenly into 4 squares. Take one square and put a small blob of peanut butter about a 1/4 teaspoon or so in the middle and fold the corners up in a ball and drop that into the trap.
Just use a 1/4 of a piece of toilet paper. Get a small amount of peanut butter on the end of your small finger and wipe it onto the centre of the piece of toilet paper then fold the corners up to make like a hersey's kiss and then drop it in the bottle. Works really well.
