    Analog tone junkie here who owns a professional recording studio and gigs constantly. This pedal solves SO many issues in SO many applications quite convincingly compared to Line 6 as far as the core tones are concerned. Form factor is genius. Any small gripes are just that- small gripes. This pedal is a godsend as far as I am concerned.

    Excellent video. Thank you for not shredding so we can actually hear the tone comparison🙂. I try to do the same in my videos

    The Tone X is a handy but of kit & I doubt most guitarist or audience would notice the difference in a live situation but from a players point of view, it will always still be an imitation (though well done) of the real thing..!
    I love the tactile touch of using the real thing & find it more fun & in a small way more satisfying to interact with, knowing I can physically see & engage with the real pedal knobs..
    This in turn helps enable me to play my best & that's hopefully better for the audience.. I can't get that same pleasure playing from an imitation as it's (to me) more than just the tone & sound itself but that love of looking at the pedalboard you've created that literally has your own unique footprint on there..
    Each to their own of course.. whatever inspires you is all good .! 😎

      that's just a subjektive mindset and has nothing to do with real life situation of the guitar world atm to be honest.

    For bass I like it as an amp and cab sim for more modern sounds along with the compressor and reverb at the end of my signal chain before going into my Ampeg SVT DI which is either just functioning as a DI with the Tonex engaged or my go to SVT sound when I want that sound without the Tonex. Nobody does Ampeg better than Ampeg. But I prefer my own effects pedals going into it. Just not the same as the actual effects pedals I have as I’m quite happy with my dialed in sounds. But the amp and cab sims are great!

    Really nice captures although tonex sounds like it needs a lil LPF filtering somewhere around 8-10k. Amazing device!

    Do the pedal capture clean up with the guitar volume knob the way the real pedals do?

  • @boyan.guitar
    @boyan.guitar 8 месяцев назад +5

    I have the Hendrix fuzz and I don’t think you can capture it as it’s a simple circuit that interacts hugely on the amount of signal you give it from the guitar. It cleans up beautifully and has so much soul. All of your captures sound like maxed out distortion with no dynamics and little articulation and character. Perfect for the modern day 😅

      Digital probably won't ever be able to give 100% perfect recreations of vintage fuzzes, but they do give 90% of the feel and sound with 0% of the downsides of a vintage fuzz.

    Hi James, I really got something from this. I’ve just bought the Tonex 1 in my quest for a ‘sound’. I know you like Eric Clapton and what I’m looking for is his sound at the intro of Phil Collins’ “I Wish It Would Rain Down”, that creamy overdrive. Any suggestions? I’ve already got the Marshall Silver and the Matchless captures. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

      @@TSR-JiveyTalksTech incidentally I have purchased the pedals pack and the soldano pack. I am using an Eric Clapton “Blackie” guitar with the Tonex 1 with a power amp and speaker. Hope this helps. Thanks.

    Tonex one = £150, the other pedals combined say x10 the price?? Its brilliant for its form factor, tones, ease of use and portability. The new update coming means lots of additional FX too. Honestly a great tool for gigging. Is it a real TS08 and a dumble - NO. Does it sound good and have great application for very very little money - YES

    Can the Tone X sit at the end of a pedalboard signal chain? Does it take Overdrive, Distortion and Fuzz pedals well?

    bought a tonex one, i sent it back that day, noisy, software is a nightmare to navigate, you have to shell out a pile more money to get the upgrade, and it didnt sound good to my ears, my suhr tele through my DR z amp is 10 times better
