  • Many of us will always remember our favorite toy growing up.
    A popular toy that many played with was made in Hastings.
    In the 1960s the creators of the Gumby Show wanted to market toys. The contract to make the toys was given to Echo Plastics in Hastings.
    "It's kind of a local item of pride is that for a while we did have Gumby and Pokey in Hastings," Cindy Thury Smith, with the Hastings Pioneer Room, said.

    I like Gumby & his friends, Pokey, Prickle and Goo. I like the toys too and the other merchandise.

    Bruh, I've known Gumby and Pokey since I was 10 years old, and I was born in 2001.

    The company wasn't Echo Plastics the company was called Lakeside toy's its true name.

    The vintage Gumby’ and Pokey sets I’ve collected were made by Lakeside Plastics - not Echo Plastics. Did Lakeside make them originally?

      Correction, The company was called, Lakeside toy's not plastics.
