How often do you need to change the battery and it seems they charged $105 for the service? Is that worth it vs a $15 battery replacement at a local jeweler?
Every 2 to 3 years. Yes the price for the battery replacement at the Tag Service Center was $105 Canadian dollars. But aside from the battery replacement they clean a watch, replace gaskets and spring bars if needed. Making sure that the watch is still waterproofed. I don’t have a trustworthy local jeweller so I would rather pay more for the service. With simple Tissot or Seiko I would go to a department store for the battery replacement.

@@OneManReviews on my Carrera calibre 16 the tachymetre is off by literally a fraction of a mm at the 6 o clock position and I can’t even tell unless I’m staring at it right in front of my eye
Just watch some videos on ADs from watches channels, pretty much every watches dealer can attest that ADs do not have the ability to identify very well made fakes, they'll tell you they do, but they really don't, that also applies for service centers, if it doesn't have obvious signs of being fake they'll work on the watch and say it's real even if it's not, your Tag can be a Frankenstein watch with real parts sourced from other watches which for sure will be recognized as real, or it can use parts from the factory that produces the original parts, again it will absolutely be identified as real by ADs, and explain the wrong serial number, but at the end of the day if it's one of those cases let's be honest, your Tag is as good as any real quartz Tag, actually it kind is a real Tag, just not original, and probably will last just as long.
Yes. although the Service Centre assured me that the watch is real, it definitely could be some kind of Frankenstein watch. So the main idea that it's always better to buy a watch from AD.
Hardly a big mistake. it turned out the watch was authentic and you got it at a price you where happy with, struggling to see the big mistake unless its just click bait.
I have that same model of Tag watch. It's the only watch I wear out of 2 I own. I wear it all the time. I have had it over 4 years. It keeps excellent time and has been used for diving upto 40 meters (though so did the £50 Casio I had which I previously wore daily and was over 10 years old.) All this stuff about watches is mostly bullshit. The Casio I had was .025% of the price and looked very similar. Had the Tag not been a gift, I'd have kept wearing the casio. No-one gives a shit what watch you wear and you can get very good high-functioning watches for a fraction of the cost of over-inflated brands.
There are so many fakes out there and it becomes so difficult to tell due to how good they are made. I was recently about to make a purchase on an TH aquaracer from a seller near by where I live. I started to get sceptical and did not pursue on the purchase. It has a warranty card and everything else to come with the watch. The thing that made me suspicious is that the price offered is too good to be true. A third of the normal price and it was posted as new.

Grey market watch. Real watches are broken and these guys build working watches from the parts so things like case backs and serial numbers don't line up but they're genuine components. Buy from authorized dealers.
The watch world is super dependent on keeping the watches original and only maintained by factory approved locations with factory parts. Some models are worth more than others. Example. My father has a “Pepsi” Rolex however he swapped out the bezel because he didn’t like how it kept fading. The pepsi Rolex is worth 20k in original condition. With the black bezel it isn’t worth shit. It would suck to purchase a pepsi and be send something different.
EBay is full of fake watches- various Tissot prx are all suspect. Fake Aquaracers are ten a penny on there too. Just because the serial number shows up doesn’t mean it’s that watch. I was going to buy one recently- asked for the serial number did a google and it showed the same model watch for sale with the same serial number in a different country… Tag manufactures watches all over the place and I know some can fall through the cracks. Different factories, systems issues. It’s not like Rolex. Not the same quality control.
I bought a few watches in Kuwait back in 2005. They honestly looked impressively good quality. For I believe $25 or $50 a piece. Rolex, Tag Heuer and and Breitling watches lol
Honestly, I had the worse experience with tag. I always buy watches from grey sites like Jomashop and have already had so many in my collection. But I fell in love with the design of tag and decided to treat myself. Bad decission. Bezel was misaligned and the chrono hand was almost ticking. This was on an automatic watch I paid full retail for. Sent it for service and they just returned as it was so I sold it at a loss.
I heard some stories about TAG QC issues. Apart from slight misalignment, I don't have other issues with my 2 TAGs. But I learned something with my eBay purchase and I prefer buying from AD.
@@OneManReviews I hear many people say that they have heard bad stories about Tag. Funnily enough the above comment is one of those rare times where someone has provided first hand experience rather than just Chinese whispers.
If Tag put the wrong case on the wrong watch do you really think they can tell the difference from a top notch fake.Paneria can't tell the difference and Omega from that big purchase they made on a vintage Omega.
eBay is a garbage dump for garbage merch. People think they’re getting a good deal but when they purchase something and it’s delivered and they find out it’s some cheap Chinese knockoff and they can’t return it, well you get the picture. I have a friend who is an avid pen collector. He bought what he thought was a rare, expensive Mont Blanc fountain pen. After a short time the pen started to leak and the piston snapped inside the pen. He brought it to a Mont Blanc store and was told it was a fake. To make matters worse the ‘gold’ on the nib started flaking off. So if anyone is contemplating buying from eBay remember the old Latin phrase ‘caveat emptor’.
Thank you for sharing your experience. So glad to hear you had a positive outcome.
Thanks. But the lesson is learned. I would better pay a bit more and buy a watch at AD :)
I noticed the misaligned bezel even before you mentioned it - things like that really stand out to me.

Your watch is real bit i think they replaced the damaged bezel by a very high end replica one

Hardly a big mistake. it turned out the watch was authentic and you got it at a price you where happy with, struggling to see the big mistake unless its just click bait.
Why you wearing two watches 😆 brilliant
Why not?
@@OneManReviews yeah mate why not, you have 2 wrists why not 2 watches 😆 each to their own I suppose
If you want to pay the money, have it returned to the serial number secs.
Too many ads for this video- why
That's why the best way to be sure is to buy from Authorized Dealers.
Not necessarily correct as tags outside an AD are cheap anyway
More accurately, it’s hard to tell because the real ones aren’t well made either.
The way he says ebay... 😂
Awesome!
I believe in the authenticity of the design and functionality, and I don't care about the make. What could be wrong with a watch that works?
Time to review the new ones
I would not have even thought the watch would be worth 300….for a quartz Tag
9 minutes of my life I will never get back.
Here's three more seconds, and 5 more if you respond. Here's 8 seconds if you are still reading..........Here's 10 seconds if you are still reading.............you can always exit video, duh! 15 seconds....stop reading. Oh yeah, I will also never get these seconds back, but will gladly do it again. Had enough? No? Okay, watch the video over. Actually, better yet, put it on loop while you ponder the rest of your life. Okay, I'm done. Bye-bye...
Lol
alignment of bezel, not correct with 12 is a big flag how did you miss that
😂😂 lucky man , I bought the same watch in egypt for 80€ , with the box , user manual , waranty card etc
But they are inaccurate.
Look at the luminous areas .... that usually tells the story
What exactly to look for?
The speed of the seconds hand is the biggest giveaway for me.
How?
It's a quartz model. You think all Tag watches are automatics?
Congrats for buying a luxury watch on ebay. 👏 👏 👏
What battery??? Isn't it an automatic watch???
No. Quartz.
Grey market watch. Real watches are broken and these guys build working watches from the parts so things like case backs and serial numbers don't line up but they're genuine components. Buy from authorized dealers.
Buying from ADs is the best option to be safe.
I'm not getting this to be honest. He bought what he believed to be a genuine Tag watch.............and it was.
@@OneManReviews Non stamped warranty cards are a risk , you can pick up lots on market that have proper stamped cards near new on the cheap
@@OneManReviews I hear many people say that they have heard bad stories about Tag. Funnily enough the above comment is one of those rare times where someone has provided first hand experience rather than just Chinese whispers.
Wasn’t this covered under eBay’s authentication guarantee? I bought one from eBay and they identified it as a fake and refunded me straight away…
@@deanbrookes4591 actually from a dealer in Sydney
So what's this guy trying to say.... Does he like the watch or not???
I have a Certina :)
If Tag put the wrong case on the wrong watch do you really think they can tell the difference from a top notch fake.Paneria can't tell the difference and Omega from that big purchase they made on a vintage Omega.
What a story... 🤣
It was a Chinese made fake watch sold on eBay
today I want to tell you a story, you are a mug.
hahahahahahahha
Wow I can’t believe i just spent 10 minutes watching this video.
So it wasn’t a big mistake
So not a big mistake in the end except buying two 5 dollars quartz powered movements and paying 300 dollars for one baterry replacement 😂😂😂
Exactly.
People buy watches with $50 Miyota movements in them and think they're hot shit, lol.
eBay is a garbage dump for garbage merch.
Thats an incredibly loud second hand waaaaaay too loud 99.9% its a fake
Told you it was fake in your other video.
Buying watches from ebay? I don't think so😂
the first mistake was buying a quartz swiss watch
So whats the mistake? or replace this clickbait title..
Mistake buying it on eBay in the first place.
So it wasn’t a mistake😂
What's the mistake? What the hell. Wasted my time. I hate fake video titles. The watch is more authentic than the video title.
market flooded w superfake tag
good news
Definitely
Lol..i can show you a fake modell with registered warranty card and gen movement😀
