• Siskel & Ebert Review ...
Wow! Both Siskel and Ebert totally missed the boat on The Burbs. It's a cult classic now I would submit.
Should've added Hulk Hogan threatening the Gremlins after that incorrect take on Gremlins 2.
These two are mad. The 'Burbs is brilliant!
I thought it kinda sucked.
Agreed, but I never heard of Belushi and Akroyd's Neighbors before, and now I definitely wanna watch that!
It's middle tier Joe Dante. It's fine
I could watch these compilations all day. Love that I was growing up (in Chicagoland, no less) during the golden era of Siskel and Ebert ('70s and '80s), when film criticism was still relevant in mass media. I suspect they would've changed their views on the "Burbs" years later, as I think they unfairly judged it based on Tom Hanks' character, coming off of his breakout role in "Big," and he's not really the focal point of "The Burbs" and is merely part of the ensemble. I'm glad they mentioned "Neighbors," though, a largely forgotten gem that was a quieter, more contemplative coda for Belushi's life and career, but just kooky and subversive enough.
Film criticism is still relevant in mass media, what are you talking about? You're on one such mass media platform.
"Tiny little low budget jaws" LOL! These compilations are great--thanks so much
The Burbs is my favorite movie!
Thats wild... I think Gremlins 2 is his best movie.
I agree. Their dislike of Gremlins 2 is really sad. The movie is fantastic...
They didn't get it.
The original was better.
@@sha11235Dante preferred the 2nd

One again S&E advertise their inability to follow a movie with special effects.
