  • Today I will be going over how to fix an LG Cordzero A9 vacuum that is making weird clunking noises and not sucking up as well as it should be.
    Thank you to /u/xjkwwrownzcgrw on Reddit for the guide, here is a link to his instructions:

    I figured a video would be helpful for visual learners, but they also posted pictures that you can follow along with from the link above ^

    Thank you. This is the only video over the internet which resolved my issue. However, BE CAREFUL while snapping out the section where the hair was stuck. I tried to do that and ended up breaking one of the 3 screw sections. Even after snapping I tried a lot to take out that part but it didn't come so had to pickup the hair one by one which took several hours😀
    But at the end, after glueing the broken part with SuperGlue, it WORKED!!!!!

    This completely solved my issue, thank you so much! Added a dab of lubricant on both sides of the bearing and wiped the assembly down before reassembling - sounds like new again 🙌

    So incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for this very short and thorough video. I've had my vacuum for about 2-3years and have 3 cats and this gets used every other day. Sooooo.... you can imagine the amount of fluff that we pulled out. Never knew we adopted a 4th cat.

    Such a great video. I was about to buy a new vaccum when I stumbled upon your video.
    Works as new now for me. Saved me $300. Thank you very much

    Thank you sir! Our head was making exactly that noise and using your process in this video fixed it. There was SO much hair in there. I blame my wife as I don’t have much hair 😊

    Thank you so much! I was about to buy a new motor but was lucky enough to find your video before doing so. I cleaned the motor by following your instructions step by step and now it works as good as new. Thank you again! 😀

    Thank you my fellow tinkerER, I am glad I found your video as I usually figure these things out by myself by disassembling products.. but I admit that I came to a point that I almost gave up until I found your video on further Motorhead disassembly. I had a bunch of hair stuck in that part and low and behold, it works now. Once again thank you!

    I was struggling to find the right words to search for regarding this issue. Glad I stumbled upon your video though. Exactly what I needed, and I got half of my cat out of there.

    Anyone having trouble detaching the top of the motor like I did to get a roll of hair out, here's what to do. Take a wide flathead screwdriver, insert between the parts as shown in the video and slowly try to separate the parts as if turning the screwdriver clockwise and counterclockwise. Make such movements in a circle around the part, from all sides. It’s important to use such movements, only then the parts can be easily separated from each other without any damage.

    Thanks mate, great tip. I had to go into the motor assembly a bit further, but a good clean and lube and it now works a treat. Cheers

    The six screws didn't need to come off in mine. I just needed near the motor with the wiring to take out the wire clip.

    Why do you even need to remove the six screws you removed in the beginning?

    I took mine apart, just to get the brushhead out, and there is nothing obstructing it, however, it won’t spin. I do not have any wire or anything stuck in there. Why do you think my bar will not spin? The rest of the vacuum is functioning properly and the curtain attachment works just fine and vibrates like it’s supposed to.

      will the brushhead motor spin freely by hand? i took apart the motor while trying to get to the hair initially and ended up getting the planetary gears out of alignment

    Hi. I opened mine up and the blue wire came right out. (I did not pull- it wasn’t working; which is why I tried to take apart and clean it). Unsure if that’s fixable???

      That's a new one. Unfortunately, I am not super familiar with the wiring, if you are able to find any type of wiring diagram that could help. I would first try and call LG and explain your problem at that point.

      was cleaning mine and reassembled it, the brush head would not turn. Turns out I had accidently disconnected the blue wire. I took it apart and was able to figure out how to reconnect the wire, reassembled and it works! Note to self, I will never disassemble it again to the point of disconnecting the wires. Also do know theses vacuum heads are replaceable for a little under $100.00, that's what I though I was going to have to do BUT I was determined to fix it, just needed to figure out how to get into the housing and back out.

    On my Cordzero the planetary gears at the other end are stripped. Purchased a replacement motor but it doesn’t fit. Not sure where I’m going next.

    No need to align the last central screw i don't think it matters or i guess not.. Also wondering why all people is within 15 days or so with the same issue....
    Thank you so much, liked and subscribed.

      Very very odd timing, maybe the algorithm is ramping up after my initial comment and people are finally getting directed here in search results?
      Since we all have the same model I'll put out this PSA since there's nothing online: Sometimes the power button can get stuck and will stick in the down position, hitting the handle hard from the side will jostle it free.

    Don't try to do this because the part it is trying to separate from the engine is one with the part underneath. There is a high probability that you will break the part!!!

    Would you happen to know why mine isn’t spinning?

    • @diegor1689
      @diegor1689 11 дней назад

      Mine was not spinning either, it had no hair when I took it apart. I added some lubricant wd40 to the the bearing and added contact cleaner from wd40 brand and it worked again.

  • @nickademusrex

    The part where you pry the top off just before removing the hair, it was too high when I watched the video and I snapped the top part that’s not supposed to come off. Be clear on that which thing you’re praying . Now I’m trying to gorilla glue it back on but I think I’m out a lot of money now

    • @nickademusrex
      @nickademusrex Год назад

      The prying of that out is at a lower point I mean

    • @carpediemkiddo
      @carpediemkiddo Год назад

      @@nickademusrex I found that both points pry off, both ways expose the bearing but the hair only gathered at the top one. Had no problem prying and re-connecting on my end though.
