I can laugh about it now, but at the time it was terrible. The third band he was in was the Glove. Side project with Steve Severin of the Banshees whilst Siouxise and Budgie were off being the Creatures.

It was one of my favorite nights of the whole 80s; Morrissey said to the crowd, "I hope you know you're missing Benson for this", and I'm so glad I did!
I introduced both my kids to The Smiths when they were teens and now they are awesome well-rounded adults. The Smiths are my favorite band of all time! I saw them in Houston in the 80s at the Cullen Auditorium on the UofH campus and I will never forget it.
