I'm 22 and got Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma February 14th. I already finished 1 round of chemo therapy and I'm having a hard time fighting my depression. I can't wait to finally say I beat this.
Hey Sofia. I'm 24 and am currently deciding whether or not to amputate my leg or undergo a joint salvage procedure. Part of my decision is based on what kinds of activities and pain level I'd get back to with a joint salvage procedure. Mine would be largely similar to yours. Any chance you can provide some insight into what kinds of things you can do? In particular: 1. Can you bike? 2. Can you swim? 3. Do you hike? 4. Can you walk far distances? Would be grateful for any insight. :)
I had the exact same treatment and it is really hard to cope with, I also had the surgery 3 months in and I have the exact same scar and the exact same operation. It's weird to see someone who has gone through the same thing. After a year and a half I'm starting to get used to my leg. Its odd to see how similar everything you've gone through is to me

What I have been finding as I have been interviewing other cancer survivors is that no matter what type of cancer and what stage, the emotional struggles are always so similar. But it sounds like the physical component was nearly the same with us! I would love to hear your story. We are launching our website (sofiaholubwellness.com) this summer in June or July which is just going to be a place where cancer survivors can get validation and inspiration in their remission and recovery. Right now we are traveling around the country interviewing cancer survivors to hear what they are doing to "embrace their new normal". We will have a place on the website when it launches for people to share their stories, but in the meantime we would love to hear yours.
