I would also recommend people to really understand themselves, don't just take some quotes from the internet and translate them into your life. Be smarter, take your thoughts about some specific or unspecific topic and write them down and think if you want to follow them or not, is it you or just a translation of your environment. Then you will understand if you are really yourself. And there you go, now you understand that you are yourself and you know what you want to be - so you can respect yourself, respect your opinion and the way you think. You can also do a very interesting experiment, go and hide that piece of paper where you wrote your thoughts and see if after a year or 2, 3 years you change your thoughts about those things.
The next recommended thing is for the boys, not for the girls. Basically, guys, when you are young, you are just developing yourself, but! Here is a point, write or remember the thing that you want to achieve and don't forget that childish wish that you had, it's cool to have that childish dream and follow it because it's what you really want to have, it could be a big new house that you own, it could be a family, it could be anything that you can and cannot achieve, I mean literally anything, because it's really cool to have some unachievable dreams that you follow! They will make you really happy, learn how to achieve them and learn how to be happy with the little steps you take to achieve them. That's life and it's beautiful (but not as beautiful as my girlfriend).
