Tower crane disassembly Day 1 of 4: Removal of top segment

- Watching the dismantling of #towercrane number 1 from below in a series of time-lapses, at various speeds, both close-ups and wide shots from multiple cameras at multiple locations. On this first day (out of four days), they use the climbing frame (which was already in place from back when the crane was raised higher) to remove the top tower segment. I assume this is to lower things enough to bring the top within reach of the big mobile crane that they brought in to disassemble the tower crane. We also see them undo the hoist cable. It was a typical foggy San Francisco morning, with the sun coming out, unfortunately, after they were already done removing the top segment.

RIP to the brothers we lost in Kelowna, BC doing this same job.
RIP for sure, condolences to everyone involved. That story sent me down a rabbit hole of tower crane videos like this one. I've worked on sites like that one briefly and the tower cranes were always coolest yet nerve racking aspects of the job site. Much respect to anyone doing that job, and all the best to everyone affected by this tragedy.
Who here because of the Kelowna, B.C crane collapse?
Im trying to figure out how the Kelowna incidents happened. This job has many steps including the counter balancing. I think if any of the steps was missed could of caused the accident.
@@PWlangford1 Hopefully we find out soon. But i think its going to take a while for the final derermination.
Nothing but the highest regard for these men I’ve always marveled at their ability to work at extreme heights while working with tons of steel

Wait that's illegal you're not allowed to see how it's disassembled
I've been searching for a good tutorial on doing this and i'm so glad i found your vid now I can do it.
"Don't try this at home" as they say! ;-)
Thank fucking God there are people willing to do this out there🙏

Thanks for the entertainment, keep up the clips
You know, I could fly at 9500 feet with the door off dropping jumpers, but there is no way you could get me on that thing even with a safety harness on.
Literally came here from a meme
Salute to these brave men
The Craine operator must be on the ball at all times. And I see the Rigger being supervised.
this is incredible
As I am watching this.....I am amazed !
I am amazed they don’t just blow it up,
Like New Orleans just did. They thought it would be faster .........I may give this thread an update when they get it all cut up, cleared out,
and taken in to the scrapyard. It’s so sad.
Probably in a couple of weeks.
I thought it will be a elevator
I wonder how much they make for this

Nice 👍 sir
Fascinating…
Awesome video brother
Thanks 👍
This tower crane works with hydraulic system??
No, not the crane. The only hydraulic equipment is the climbing unit. The climbing unit is used to jack up the crane upper part and than to add or remove a tower section, thus climbing up or down the crane.
Great video!

The music sounds like Santana playing "Moondance."
That's what I was going to say!
The tower crane 🏗 is disassembly in the hospital
Technology is everything really.
If you want to get access to a building site show up in a white hard hat with a clip board and a reflective vest. Try I am hear from quality control to look at the giggly pins for the you who valves. They may let you in
" I am HEAR" !!! What a dumbass you are. An adult and still haven't learned to spell or use a dictionary. Christ, you should be ashamed. Well, you're not alone. RUclips is full of people like you. Some comfort, eh?
Thanks for the insult their dairy air. I really appreciate the word usage police correcting me and BTW with a name like Webster I can spell any word any way I want signed Noah
Who plays the music ? Santana ? Great Video ! Video and music play vary well together !!! Thanks for sharing !
Thanks. May sound sort of like Santana, but it isn't... I couldn't afford them...
Hospital Construction Hahahaaaaaa !!!! Still Pretty good Jams ! What sound track ? Put's me in a Fast Mood Too ! 🤣✌️ Thanks !
You think this sounds like Santana? lol Get real. This is royalty free generic crap that no Santana fan would confuse with the real thing.

OMG
What are the use of these cranes in construction?
Jagdish Kumawat to build buildings...?
Hello
Always wondered how the heck they set that up and take it down. Good video. Thanks.
Also guy in orange shirt really didn't help all that much. And of all the jobs, crane operator is where it's at. While the other guys slaving it in the elements, ur in ur ac can with radio and ur little spot to pee and poop if need b. Lol
No safety belts?
Same question I was thinking? Where are the safety belts? I wonder where this crane is located. I just saw a crane assembled here in D.C. recently and all the men were wearing belts. I have never seen a crew dissemble a crane without belts until this video. That's like playing Russian roulette.
@@stantaylor524 if you look closely they all have belts, they don't have to tie off unless they leave the railing area onto the floating section, which they do. The only guy I see that i'm not sure has a belt or not never leaves the railing zones.
never saw somethink like this
Good job done I really enjoyed the disassembly work.
please
nice

@@sukarmeyouzrex2731 Thanks.
It has been there for a while and it's sad to see it go away.
Why can they just use a heli
(My opinion only)
Expensive

he never leaves the safety railing area, he's fine
Garbage
