    When you're down at 30 meters and the visibility is so perfect it's hard to tell if you have narcosis or if you're just extremely happy

      I got that experience 😂 but I guess it was narcosis, I was laughing & enjoying the moment like if I was smoking weed

    If you're having ear trouble, you should ascend a bit, and then try to equalise. Descending further with a blocked ear can lead to a blown eardrum.

    I've watched so many dive videos that I'm learning the hand signals. I was proud of myself when I knew you signaled "problem" and pointed to your ear.

      same. Just like cops at a DUI stop demanding you to say the alphabet backwards. Sorry, just give me the breathalyzer already. 😂

    looks like deep dive lesson with playing games during AOWD course :-) I think she knew well what he was doing and what she could afford. In fact all instructors what I met went little beyond the edge of my comfort. And finally it was OK - you should get to know where the discomfort starts and touch the safe limit with professional. Definitely better than trying it out later on your own with buddy like you.

    I disagree with everyone who says this woman was a great partner.
    If someone repeatedly signals to go to the surface. And can't perform a simple task at the present depth.
    Then the dive is done. You go to the surface.
    You don't tell someone to "calm down".,
    I've dove with narced divers. And I've rescued a few divers. Become narced can happen at any almost any depth. You can't reason with a narced diver.
    If someone wants to surface, then O.K. we surface.
    Things can go wrong in a split second. Just look at the other RUclips websites.
    If you rescue a panicking diver you won't want to ever be put in that situation again.

    • @vladrapchan5330
      @vladrapchan5330 3 года назад +20

      That's exactly what I thought. If someone is not feeling well and calmingly call the dive, there's no need to delay the process. What was she waiting for? A panic attack?

    • @JacobC479
      @JacobC479 3 года назад +16

      I don't think she was saying calm down but rather "slow down" when they were going to the surface.

      For sure. I don't dive but the inability to write one's own name backwards after multiple attempts is surely a red light.

    • @theshrek__3287

      Exactly, why not just thumb the dive and attempt it again? Infuriating...

      @@JacobC479 if she agreed with him she would have made the okay signal or it may be a simple mistake idk

    I was doing professional work at 30 meters deep, it was really cool and so much responsibility, there is not like let's go to surface because I feel drunk of narcosis

  • @massaggiami
    @massaggiami 3 года назад +10

    narcosis is one things, feel the ear problem is different. The Instructor is stupid don't make you go up 2 or 3 meters when there is ear pain. She risked a ear barotrauma and all the big problems coming

    • @souloftheage
      @souloftheage 3 года назад +4

      I agree!!. What I've found is one is better off NOT diving that day if one has ear problems.
      Take a break and let the inner ear dry out if necessary.
      I often get swimmers ear when I do a lot free diving .
      If I have inner ear problems then I just don't dive and use a 50/50 solution of alcohol/vinegar to dry out my ear.
      If I am careful and use the alcohol/vinegar solution every night after diving then I dont have ear problems.

    Is nitrogen narcosis similar to getting drunk?

    • @sadsader100yearsago9
      @sadsader100yearsago9 4 года назад

      Yes

    • @shellyrgarcia2205
      @shellyrgarcia2205 4 года назад +3

      Yes, it's a state of Euphoria. The nitrogen isn't expelled like it normally is on the surface (there's 79% nitrogen in the atmosphere, which we expel- it's inert) and the deeper you go the more pressure on the body. The pressure buildup on the lungs pushes the nitrogen into the blood which then goes to the brain. Then you can become punch-drunk.
