Part Two:
Word of the siege had reached Canterlot mere days before the coming attack. Every able bodied person was expected to assist in the defense and preparing for the siege. The young, the infirm, and the female population were evacuated through the Crystal Caverns deep beneath the Citadel. Above ground, preparations are made in earnest: A new Arcano-Technology had been developed to help in the defense of the city should an army attack again, in the form of a city-wide shield generator. The defenders had complete faith in the generators, that they would be able to channel their magics into them, and they would keep them safe
...However, they hadn't accounted for the changelings' abilities to feed off fear in addition to love, meaning that the shield would not be enough to withstand the force of the swarm.

moon slinger tripped, feeling the cold wet pools of rain against her coat while she looked up at the blazing fire around the Lunar Citadel. Fire that cruelly flashed red off the invader's golden armor. Moon Slinger started scooting back towards a wall while the Stallion's twisted face came into view. She heard a cruel chuckle from the earth pony as she hit against the wall. "Another Lunar heretic dead couldn't anyone" He said cynically as he revealed his blade from his armor. "Why?" Moon Slinger asked frightened. "Because your days of endless shadows and nights of pure terror will end right here, that nightmare of a princess that keeps you from the joy of light will pay." closing in on Moon Slinger. "Pay for the mares and stallions that tried so desperately to make her stop, and the heart of the sister she so pathetically shredded in half!" With the final words spewing from his mouth he thrust his sword at Moon Slinger. She closed her eyes waiting for the worst, but after an eternity of two seconds she heard a crack, not of thunder but of existence itself. As she opened her eyes she saw the same earth pony crumpled against the wall with a huge black crack in his armor. the pony struggled to get up but fell on the floor again, in front of Moon Slinger was Princess Luna panting before looking behind her to a frightened Moon Slinger. "My child of the night, run. This is my fight. "The smooth voice calmed down Moon Slinger, but soon that calm face broke into a stare of complete hatred. "Where are you sun tyrant?!" She yelled out at the night. Moon Slinger was petrified, never had she seen her mother of the night so angry. Then the night sky was burned away with the same cruel red as the fire. When a white mare came out of the sky, bearing wings that that burned with fire and plated from head to hoof in golden armor. The Mare landed next to Luna. The Hatred between the two was echoed through that eternity of a second until Luna broke the Silence; "Sister"
I am listening to this as it is pouring with rain out side, I have it on 1080HD with full surround with the back door open and windows open, the sound is awesome,
I sit here in the dark just listening, truly amazing.
Dunno about any of you, but I felt like this song is more like the peepers films before a battle. It's feels tense and suspenseful, but epic enough to be a perfect fit for those scenes where you see the enemy army approaching and your soldiers are running around getting ready for the coming siege. While every key character is also preparing.
Here's what I came up with in my head while listening to this. I saw Canterlot preparing for their final stand against an army of darkness that has now almost destroyed all of Equestria
I saw an army of darkness approaching canterlot preparing for the incoming battle. Applejack setting up the wall defenses, rainbow dash preparing the aerial units. Twilight with the other princesses, getting ready for what's to come. The others helping with the evacuation. Quickly everything is prepared. Archers at the ready, canons ready, aerial units in position, knights ready for the assault. When the song starts the fade. The enemy is close.
"Archers at the ready!"
The sound of bow strings pulling back. The enemy gets closer. The song ends. All anyone could hear was the final order
"FIRE!"
And Canterlot, no, Equestrias final stand begins.
Dunno just my imagination running wild, left out a lot of detail because this is a youtube comment. But anyways yea, amazing song, I really liked it keep up the good work.

From 1:36 to 2:00, i can just see Chrysalis and Celestia or Luna Staring each other down through the skies, serious goosebumbs!

I love this music, I listened to it all the way through 20x... one because it was awesome, two my browser was broken and kept the song repeating until I fixed it.
I always think about these, but I forgot your channel name. Luckily I found my old account where I had a playlist of these. I'm so happy to hear them again. They are my favorite Orchestral pieces.

Well that was most enjoyable. That subtle rainstorm effect in the back ground and how the music faded eerily into it at the end was a nice touch in my opinion.

I needed an epic orchestral piece....and I found it right here....
I've just listened it from beginning to end. You've won a subscriber.
I could almost see the thousands of changelings in rows marching and flying up the mountain.
I honestly can't count how many times I've listened to this since I first discovered it. I love it too much.
I always have this mental image of Canterlot being an absolute warzone with Celestia & Luna's army being pushed back to the castle by an unknown enemy (Changelings?) then through a series of epic clashes start pushing them back.
That quieter part just after three minutes in is when reinforcements arrive through a hole in their defenses along with some regular ponies taking up arms. Then through a final push the Changelings are ejected out of the city.
The last bit with the thunder is Celestia and Luna staring out at the burning city with a couple of new battle scars.
This is absolutely breathtaking! One of my absolute favorite orchestral pieces of yours, I can listen to this on repeat all day omigosh. Absolutely beautiful..
I love how the music and the artwork just kinda blend together... it really helps me visualize an entire scenario.
I love this song because there's so much imagery and story line to this song. Beautiful. Wars and epic battles are two of my favorite things. My sister says it reminds her of the Battle of Hogwarts from Harry Potter.
I'd totally recommend listening to this for the full 10 minutes... 6:08 for the music, the rest in awe of what you just heard.

I have to say that this is nothing short of epic. It is a full, well toned piece full of energy and I love it! This, and the Siege of Canterlot make me want to find an epic clashing of armies piece and just...absorb it. This is my favorite type of music to just sit and let a story weave itself to. i listened to the whole thing and its amazing its one of my fav things to listen to.
I am sorry for typing on such a comment on a older video but after listening to many of your songs, i was able to think of words that roughly discribed my liking of your music in words, you (who ever "you" or the reader is) do not have to read at all I wanted to just share my thoughts. What I like best about your music is that I can paint my own picture in my head and, if I feel creative enough, story in my head. I mean, I live the story you made for it but I am not able to find a lot of music that I can paint a picture of what it could be or I would like to make out of it. As I am sure you already figured this is art to me, it is beautiful art to be exact, it is art that can be molded into many more things if one has the creativity for it, I have a little bit but not huge amount of creativity, the many ways the song(s) can be thought of is breath taking, I don't know if anyone else can think the same way with your creation's or do the same with them but one thing's for clear your talented and amazingly talented. This is part of the reasons why I love your music and also the fact that your genre of music is so unique and interested me faster then most music genres with the classic instruments, plus the other songs with dub step and the classical instruments was amazing. The song genre kinda reminds me of Neo-classic just upgraded many generations I am probably mistaken but that is was I thought it sounded. Funny, I can't get a paragraph done in one day for a essay at school but get a paragraph for a comment done in a hour. As an ending to my very poor detailed, but opinion filled, comment I bid a farewell and thank you for who ever read this and I would like to thank Aurelleah for the beautiful music and inspiring music they made.

Ah the epic sense of standing in the highest tower has your city burns. I can almost feel the sorrow of the defenders and the fury of the attackers but there is an underlying emotion. A most magnificent song overall and it carries the story quite well.

Grand Diplomat The next song expands a bit on what took place in this song (when It's completed). Part of me wants to keep as many of the lyrics and musical parts to be as open-ended as I can, cause I want the story to "tell its self".
The problem with that is that if it's too open-ended, it loses its sense of direction. I'm still trying to find the balance there :P
What I might do is have one version of the album entirely instrumental, and another version redone and remastered with lyrics, telling one big story across all the songs. Decisions decisions :P

I'm sure the reason a lot of people don't make it past two minutes is because they've heard enough to know they want it. So they download it and dismiss the video, not knowing/considering that you might benefit from the watch time. Just my take on it, atleast.
