This is one of those songs that you just cant get rid of. it sticks and wont let you go, which is why i absolutely adore it. everything in this is done right, and, as you mentioned in your comment, Aurelleahs way of making music adds to that and makes it a truly beautiful experience.
Every time I hear the bit where it goes "Enjoy your precious sunlight, 'cause now it's time to dream, the night will last forever, in your nightmares I'll hear your screams!" I *shiver*. The way it's presented is unorthodox, I think, in the sense that the music is quite tame up until "scream," and I can just feel the insane hatred that Nightmare Moon had towards her sister.
A shame that instead of that hatred being resolved and addressed, Luna was just forcibly purified and that was it. The actual problems that led NMM to happen wasn't properly resolved..

This song was released days before my grandmother passed. I listened to it the day before she passed. Whenever i listen to this it makes me cry. It reminds me of her. She would've loved this. You set out to tell a story. And you succeeded. Beautifully. Like a ship woven out of sound, lovingly crafted by its maker to carry the listener into the waves of pain and loss. The strings whipped like sails and the percussion rose like a deck, while the lyrics cried a tempest. I was swept up in this vehicle of emotion and brought to a place where I did not hear a story, but lived it. If that is not magic, I don't know what is.
Interestingly the original LFAP didnt get a massive amount of views until the animation came out, if I remember correctly. The animation also had a redone version of it with live instruments and was an overall improved composition; Not holding my breath it'll wind up as such but you never know I suppose haha
I think the best part is the swelling of music and the vocals at the lyrics "...Night will last forever, and in your nightmare I'll hear you scream." It's a great piece and I hope you'll do more songs with vocals. The only complaint I can give is that it feels short. I know it's 5 and a half mins long but it flies by. Like eating a tasty cupcake and realizing there are no more left.
Omg I luv this so much! I absolutely love the way you capture the struggle within Luna, her own war with not just her jealousy - that her sister was ever the brilliant one - but also with the hurt she felt at her sister's dismissal of her contributions in favour of other things she thought was more important. I adore the way you capture Tia's feelings, her silent plea for forgiveness from her sister for her errors. It all starts off with a deceivingly hopeful tune - in truth the lyrics convey Tia's despair and sadness for the need to fight her own sister, and also an unspoken plea to Luna to STOP. It then turns to Luna's swift spiral down to depression, weighed down by her insecurities, her loneliness, her numb anger at her sister for empty promises. That numb anger is bubbling and boiling under the surface, just waiting for the last straw to explode. And sure enough, the abrupt change of tone in the next part signifies her spiral downwards from some sort of despair to anger and madness. The subtle shift in the visual effects was another hint to Luna's transformation to Nightmare Moon, and Tia's plea only fuels her anger even more. There is no need to explain the confrontation between the sisters in the orchestral part, for the chords speak for themselves. The last part was hopeful but weighed with Tia's sorrow, and she starts to repent on her mistakes. I dunno, but that's my interpretation lol. I love how well every chord in this piece flows together (not unlike how I love the poignance and hope in Midnight Lament) and I really, really want to hug you right now for making this wonderful piece!

It also reminds me somewhat of Tia's shift in hair colour from pink to multicoloured (as portrayed in WarpOut's animation for Lullaby for a Princess) - for no other reason other than I love the reasoning behind it (I had fancied that her hair colour changed because she had taken on her sister's duties as well as her own, and also because it signifies the loss of her naïveté - her experience had matured her.) Oh well. Blame my over imaginative mind haha. I was always fascinated by Luna and Tia, and I like to wonder about the additional reasons that drove Luna to madness - just for fun. (For me, it will never be as simple as what they tell you lol.) Bleh. I'm blabbing on again. I think I'll just stop 😆

I keep listening to this song because... it's awesome, but you know what? I keep getting goosebumps... EVERY TIME! I'd put this right up with Lullaby for a Princess. Someone PLEASE write an opera about "Two Royal Sisters". There is plenty of material and talent. It would be a fitting tribute to the close of G4.
I listen daily to the Ponies@Dawn albums, i bought them all, and i always loved this song. However, english is not my native language, but i can speak it and understand it very well, however, for a non english speaker, some songs (like this one) are extremely hard to understand, so until now i just enjoyed the tune and part of the words i could understand without looking at the lyric. Today i was concentrated and started understanding much more about this song, so i came here to enjoy and read the full lyric while listening. Man, i can't believe i listened to this song for years like a random tune from spotify you listen to when there's nothing else to do, i'm so sorry. Right now i literally have a couple of tears running down my face, it was just beautiful. I feel the duty to do the same with all the other songs you made, and all with all the songs from the Ponies@Dawn album. I have a playlist of songs named "God tier", in that playlist there are all the songs that are so beautiful i almost never listen to them, because they are so special they deserve full concentration and enjoyment, so beautiful they are far above the music that goes in my favouries playlist, which i listen to when studying or working. This song is going straight in the God tier playlist. I may listen to it rarely now, but whenever i will do it, it will be an amazing experience

i like to think there is an order of songs that goes like this, 'The moon rises', 'On Wings of Moonlight' and then 'lullaby for a princess'. 'the moon rises' being Luna starting to descend into madness . This song being celesta finding out about Luna trying to convince her to come back with her then fighting and feeling sorry for treating her wrong and then "lullaby for a princess" being celestia reflecting on what led Luna to becoming nightmare moon and then becoming filled with regret over her mistakes.
This is one of my favorite songs. Period. It's just so good. I found this song 3-4 years ago and I still visit it every now and then. The vocals, the music, the composition, all shows that you really put passion into this song and that's the beauty of it. Thank you so much for making this and sharing it to the world man. Dear aurelliah, I was so touched by the song and how it told the tragic story of luna celestia. I deeply want to animate this but I'm not really advanced at doing so. I just wanted to say thank you for posting such beatiful musical Art und with it hitting me deep in the feels. -Chanty
"The assurance of harmony, but spoken without the slightest bit of love or truth." This stood out as not only very elegant writing but touches on a less focused on issue of there being more than just jealousy between the sisters, but emotional neglect at the expense of all the effort Luna puts into her service to the rest of the world, which is what she is bound to do for the rest of time. In the typical fashion people do, they hide these feelings away and they fester to make us lash out in different ways, such as her jealousy and hatred of everything Celestia has. I also love the vocals at around 2:30 with the voice pitch continuing to go higher, rather than ascend toward the end of each statement It keeps climing untill the end of the dialogue and is very unique. Nonetheless, the dialog is also rather touching to listen to with Celestia trying to salvage an already empty and used soul that has nothing left to give. I like the touch of the church bell giving things a rather foreboding feeling and even the light choral voicing in the background. Good stuff, just thought id speak up.
This song is just so...amazingly perfect. The audio cues that give it like a battle effect towards the end, and in the beginning where it's the calm before the storm. The power in Luna's voice as her bitterness slowly corrupts her and in her final words, it leaves goosebumps. It's so amazing and beautiful and the effects just fit so beautifully well. I am utterly in love.
This song came out when I was going through one of the toughest times of my life.. I listened to it a lot. Looking back on it a year later is certainly interesting..

I.. wow.. just.. wow.. this is so amazing. It's something epic and full of so many emotions that I'm just about in tears from it. This is a song I so hope becomes an animation. I can only imagine how much more amazing it could be if the right animators got behind it.
I don't even know what to say to be completely honest. Everything just... works so well together in my opinion (Though I might be biased cause I absolutely adore most of the stuff you do)! It brings out the emotions of the situation so well. it does it even better than Midnight Lament did, and i thought that did it amazingly well x3! It's so easy to sense the incredible amount of hard work and passion that went into making this piece. Your talents with the composition as well as the two incredible voices playing the roles of the sisters creates such an intense somber atmosphere for the story it's telling I love it, and the talents of everybody involved really shine through

Amazing! Epic! Astounding! Breathtaking! Intense! I'm running out of words to describe it so I'll write a paragraph instead: So, the beginning of the song felt uplifting and hopeful as the lyrics were demonstrating, but then suddenly jumps to something a little more sinister. You could feel the anger from Luna, but over that, you can feel the confusion and buildup of emotion. Then the silence totally changed the tone yet again. Each transition is so smooth. It's kinda crazy. The desperation is so clear on their voices. then the slow build up to another EPIC part of the song that had me tensing up. Then the end of the song was just like the beginning, a feeling of accomplishment, but underlying melancholy. Brilliant work.

Yeah, a lot of that time was spent waiting on vocals, so I was tweaking and refining and learning while I waited. It definitely shows though, its miles better than the last version :P
It is amazing. I would absolutely love to see this in a live performance. I honestly think that with music like this that the story of the two sisters would make a smash of a Broadway musical.
The battles of pony folk are indeed frightening at times, but a fight between two Alicorns is skyrending... Especially the fight between Celestia and Luna, this was a fight between an old lover of mine and her sister, the lover had just killed me due to the darkness. The other was fighting for balance in their world, and with herself in the process, because she had to fight her sister and it's going to hurt to fight a family member so hard. Then from the spirit world I suggested that Celestia use the Magic Element from the tree, to give Luna some time to cool off, with the thousand years cycle of the stars and moon joining on the way... Giving prophecy of the event to come, one thousand years later, by which time an heir was to be found and prepared. Celestia was both emotionally, and physically damaged brutally from the situation that happened. You could hear it in her voice, and see it in her eyes, she wasn't okay with this. I blamed myself for both their losses... I'll... Stop here.

GOODNESS GRACIOUS I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO THIS SONG. The story of the two sisters is such a beautiful tragedy that I adore, and anything that can portray the intensity and pain of that tragedy is 👌GOOD 👌 FRICKEN 👌 STUFF IN MY BOOK The lyrics are really well done! Luna's fall into despair and anger really hit me in this song, especially when the song peaks during their argument. That is honestly my favorite part, and the way the music builds to "And in your nightmares I'll hear your screams" is sosososo good, especially the sound effect at that part UUGHH IT'S TOO GOOD. It paints SUCH a vivid scene in my mind. Overall, wonderful orchestral! Keep doing what you're doing!!
Just bought a sennheiser cx 3.00, and oh boy, the differences between these and my samsung earphones are like night and day (or should i say like Luna and Celestia). It's like there's a whole new instrument section added. I cannot believe that this only took you one year. This song manages to reflect every single emotion of the two sisters; the instrumentals just make it stand out even more. Like 3:15-3:30, the sudden deepening of Luna's voice paints an image of her slowly turning into nightmare moon. And that picture becomes more vivid with the crescendo of the string instruments and the sudden bass line. (That part gives me goosebumps every single time!) And the sudden silence at 4:43 gives me a feeling of sandé. The piano solo is the reason of that, it's so remorseful and regretful. Saying this is brilliant is an understatement, I have no english word or words in general that can describe this masterpiece that I would say rivals/or that's even better than MelodicPony's arrangements. I wish I could analyze this more, but I have a test 12 hours from now. Thank you.

Interestingly the original LFAP didnt get a massive amount of views until the animation came out, if I remember correctly. The animation also had a redone version of it with live instruments and was an overall improved composition; Not holding my breath it'll wind up as such but you never know I suppose haha

The only complaint I can give is that it feels short. I know it's 5 and a half mins long but it flies by. Like eating a tasty cupcake and realizing there are no more left.

Omg I luv this so much! I absolutely love the way you capture the struggle within Luna, her own war with not just her jealousy - that her sister was ever the brilliant one - but also with the hurt she felt at her sister's dismissal of her contributions in favour of other things she thought was more important. I adore the way you capture Tia's feelings, her silent plea for forgiveness from her sister for her errors.
It all starts off with a deceivingly hopeful tune - in truth the lyrics convey Tia's despair and sadness for the need to fight her own sister, and also an unspoken plea to Luna to STOP. It then turns to Luna's swift spiral down to depression, weighed down by her insecurities, her loneliness, her numb anger at her sister for empty promises. That numb anger is bubbling and boiling under the surface, just waiting for the last straw to explode. And sure enough, the abrupt change of tone in the next part signifies her spiral downwards from some sort of despair to anger and madness. The subtle shift in the visual effects was another hint to Luna's transformation to Nightmare Moon, and Tia's plea only fuels her anger even more. There is no need to explain the confrontation between the sisters in the orchestral part, for the chords speak for themselves. The last part was hopeful but weighed with Tia's sorrow, and she starts to repent on her mistakes.
I dunno, but that's my interpretation lol.
I love how well every chord in this piece flows together (not unlike how I love the poignance and hope in Midnight Lament) and I really, really want to hug you right now for making this wonderful piece!

It also reminds me somewhat of Tia's shift in hair colour from pink to multicoloured (as portrayed in WarpOut's animation for Lullaby for a Princess) - for no other reason other than I love the reasoning behind it (I had fancied that her hair colour changed because she had taken on her sister's duties as well as her own, and also because it signifies the loss of her naïveté - her experience had matured her.)
Oh well. Blame my over imaginative mind haha. I was always fascinated by Luna and Tia, and I like to wonder about the additional reasons that drove Luna to madness - just for fun. (For me, it will never be as simple as what they tell you lol.)

Someone PLEASE write an opera about "Two Royal Sisters". There is plenty of material and talent. It would be a fitting tribute to the close of G4.

Oh my Celestia, i have never gotten chills like this from anything which is saying a lot, because a lot of music gives me the chills!!!
I listen daily to the Ponies@Dawn albums, i bought them all, and i always loved this song.
However, english is not my native language, but i can speak it and understand it very well, however, for a non english speaker, some songs (like this one) are extremely hard to understand, so until now i just enjoyed the tune and part of the words i could understand without looking at the lyric.
Today i was concentrated and started understanding much more about this song, so i came here to enjoy and read the full lyric while listening.
Man, i can't believe i listened to this song for years like a random tune from spotify you listen to when there's nothing else to do, i'm so sorry. Right now i literally have a couple of tears running down my face, it was just beautiful. I feel the duty to do the same with all the other songs you made, and all with all the songs from the Ponies@Dawn album.
I have a playlist of songs named "God tier", in that playlist there are all the songs that are so beautiful i almost never listen to them, because they are so special they deserve full concentration and enjoyment, so beautiful they are far above the music that goes in my favouries playlist, which i listen to when studying or working.
This song is going straight in the God tier playlist. I may listen to it rarely now, but whenever i will do it, it will be an amazing experience

i like to think there is an order of songs that goes like this, 'The moon rises', 'On Wings of Moonlight' and then 'lullaby for a princess'. 'the moon rises' being Luna starting to descend into madness . This song being celesta finding out about Luna trying to convince her to come back with her then fighting and feeling sorry for treating her wrong and then "lullaby for a princess" being celestia reflecting on what led Luna to becoming nightmare moon and then becoming filled with regret over her mistakes.

I deeply want to animate this but I'm not really advanced at doing so.
I just wanted to say thank you for posting such beatiful musical Art und with it hitting me deep in the feels.

"The assurance of harmony, but spoken without the slightest bit of love or truth." This stood out as not only very elegant writing but touches on a less focused on issue of there being more than just jealousy between the sisters, but emotional neglect at the expense of all the effort Luna puts into her service to the rest of the world, which is what she is bound to do for the rest of time. In the typical fashion people do, they hide these feelings away and they fester to make us lash out in different ways, such as her jealousy and hatred of everything Celestia has.
I also love the vocals at around 2:30 with the voice pitch continuing to go higher, rather than ascend toward the end of each statement It keeps climing untill the end of the dialogue and is very unique. Nonetheless, the dialog is also rather touching to listen to with Celestia trying to salvage an already empty and used soul that has nothing left to give.
I like the touch of the church bell giving things a rather foreboding feeling and even the light choral voicing in the background. Good stuff, just thought id speak up.

This song is just so...amazingly perfect. The audio cues that give it like a battle effect towards the end, and in the beginning where it's the calm before the storm. The power in Luna's voice as her bitterness slowly corrupts her and in her final words, it leaves goosebumps. It's so amazing and beautiful and the effects just fit so beautifully well. I am utterly in love.
This song came out when I was going through one of the toughest times of my life.. I listened to it a lot. Looking back on it a year later is certainly interesting..

I.. wow.. just.. wow.. this is so amazing. It's something epic and full of so many emotions that I'm just about in tears from it. This is a song I so hope becomes an animation. I can only imagine how much more amazing it could be if the right animators got behind it.
I don't even know what to say to be completely honest. Everything just... works so well together in my opinion (Though I might be biased cause I absolutely adore most of the stuff you do)! It brings out the emotions of the situation so well. it does it even better than Midnight Lament did, and i thought that did it amazingly well x3! I don't know how much it exactly cost to make this, and frankly, I don't have to know. This is a masterpiece, and you deserve every little thing you get for it!

This song is so beautiful... It brings me to tears to listen to this... It perfectly captures the story of Celestia and Luna and puts it all into a beautiful song. I am listening to it for the 4th time now and it never ceases to amaze me how beautifully you have captured the love that Celestia felt and the rage that corrupted Luna that night. I listened to it, expecting a great song that would have feels, but instead what i found was... was...... a beautiful song with no words to describe it and so many feels that you cant even count. So, the beginning of the song felt uplifting and hopeful as the lyrics were demonstrating, but then suddenly jumps to something a little more sinister. You could feel the anger from Luna, but over that, you can feel the confusion and buildup of emotion. Then the silence totally changed the tone yet again. Each transition is so smooth. It's kinda crazy. The desperation is so clear on their voices. then the slow build up to another EPIC part of the song that had me tensing up. Then the end of the song was just like the beginning, a feeling of accomplishment, but underlying melancholy.

Yeah, a lot of that time was spent waiting on vocals, so I was tweaking and refining and learning while I waited. It definitely shows though, its miles better than the last version :P

It is amazing. I would absolutely love to see this in a live performance. I honestly think that with music like this that the story of the two sisters would make a smash of a Broadway musical.
The battles of pony folk are indeed frightening at times, but a fight between two Alicorns is skyrending... Especially the fight between Celestia and Luna, this was a fight between an old lover of mine and her sister, the lover had just killed me due to the darkness. The other was fighting for balance in their world, and with herself in the process, because she had to fight her sister and it's going to hurt to fight a family member so hard. Then from the spirit world I suggested that Celestia use the Magic Element from the tree, to give Luna some time to cool off, with the thousand years cycle of the stars and moon joining on the way... Giving prophecy of the event to come, one thousand years later, by which time an heir was to be found and prepared.
Celestia was both emotionally, and physically damaged brutally from the situation that happened. You could hear it in her voice, and see it in her eyes, she wasn't okay with this. I blamed myself for both their losses... I'll... Stop here.

You can really hear where all that work went. This is awesome stuff. I especially like Luna's voice, and I couldn't sing along without getting choked up so I put it on loop and scrubbed some G1s. Perfect.
Listening to this again made me get a little emotional. It's- It's just as beautiful as the first time I listened to this. This is truly a timeless tune....

The lyrics are really well done! Luna's fall into despair and anger really hit me in this song, especially when the song peaks during their argument. That is honestly my favorite part, and the way the music builds to "And in your nightmares I'll hear your screams" is sosososo good, especially the sound effect at that part UUGHH IT'S TOO GOOD. It paints SUCH a vivid scene in my mind.

Just bought a sennheiser cx 3.00, and oh boy, the differences between these and my samsung earphones are like night and day (or should i say like Luna and Celestia). It's like there's a whole new instrument section added. I cannot believe that this only took you one year. This song manages to reflect every single emotion of the two sisters; the instrumentals just make it stand out even more. Like 3:15-3:30, the sudden deepening of Luna's voice paints an image of her slowly turning into nightmare moon. And that picture becomes more vivid with the crescendo of the string instruments and the sudden bass line. (That part gives me goosebumps every single time!) And the sudden silence at 4:43 gives me a feeling of sandé. The piano solo is the reason of that, it's so remorseful and regretful. Saying this is brilliant is an understatement, I have no english word or words in general that can describe this masterpiece that I would say rivals/or that's even better than MelodicPony's arrangements.
I wish I could analyze this more, but I have a test 12 hours from now.

I wish everyone could listen to my work with good headphones; I tend to layer in subtle things in the background that you hear only the 3rd or 4th time; different melodies and counterpoints and things to follow to get a different perspective each time.
